Soothing water and lilacs

I picked a single lilac stem...

and laid it on my fountain
It seems very much at home there.
Wishing you a beautiful Saturday.

Make sure to stop and smell the lilacs...

Playing with dirt and 50 cent find

In the spring, at the end of the day,
you should smell like dirt.

Grow what you love,
the love will keep it growing.

You're only here for a short visit.
Don't hurry, don't worry,
and stop to smell the flowers along the way.
-Walter Hagen

Don't you just love my little gray clay pot?? My 50 cent purchase at an antique mall.
I was wishing they had a dozen of them!

My adorable little fairy chair that I have had for several years.

I was in my potting shed today planting violas in teacups for a Ladies tea that we are having at our church on Sunday. Guess who is in charge of the decor?

ps...I am loving my new camera!

Happy playing in the dirt in the days ahead. :)

Marathon...

definition:
any long and arduous undertaking

arduous
definition:
characterized by effort to the point of exhaustion

this grandma:
arduous...marathon...today

I knew I was in trouble when my dear
Annika arrived and I witnessed this a few
minutes later...
yep...one busy , exhausting day.

this face just says it all

let's sprinkle a little of gma's shredded paper around
in the water...
out of the water...
water on the floor...
water on the cupboard.

bored with water...lets play with buttons

done with buttons...moving on to paper

putting page markers into
candleholders and teacups...
ran out of page markers fast
so that didn't last long.

okay I will give grandma a little breather
because I think gma looks a little tired.

whoa...she found my bed.

trying to do a somersault...

Do I have to stop????

One last hurrah!!

...and these were just a very few of this little gals
antics today. She succeeded in wearing me out again.

No these were not staged photos...
they were literally
grab the camera and snap a picture

and...I didn't get the picture of all the flowers
she punched out of paper and I just let
them fall all over the floor. I was too tired
to care and she helped me sweep them up later.

{she really is a good little helper...just a busy beaver too}

It kept her occupied for a little while and that
is a good thing.

I think I will rest up tomorrow...

Oops White Wednesday

Kathleen at Faded Charm is hosting yet another
WW today for us bloggers. I just love to see all the
whites that everyone comes up with each week.

What do you think of my little makeover project?

The original photo of this sweet lady even has a white
rose in her hair so I had to add one of my
tattered roses as well.

It started out as this clock body and I transformed
it into what you see above.
The glass was missing when I found it , but
it did still have the old metal clock face so I kept
that to decorate with.

now comes the oops...

I was messing around with it to shabby it up before taking it up to my booth and guess what happened??

the knob on the top fell off!!

I had glued it on with E6000 glue and thought that would hold it , but apparantly not. Now I am trying to figure out what to use or just leave it off, but I do like it there. Any suggestions?

Happy White Wednesday!

Vintage Shoes Makeover

Love these little vintage shoes...

They have been around for awhile so
I did a mini makeover and now they
look like the photo above.

They used to look like this...

now they are in my booth to
sell individually.

I know I am just terrible for separating
them...after all they were
identical twins
but...
a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

Pot of Gold ?

Can you believe that there was no pot of gold
at the end of this gorgeous rainbow?
I even called and asked my dad if he found one
because the rainbow appeared to end right
over the top of his house. lol.
Fun times!

It has been raining here all day long...
kinda gloomy, but that made me
think of the rainbow...
and God's promises to us.

Breath of Spring

I was out in my yard yesterday taking a few
photographs of my flowers
and I wanted to share them with you.

Lilacs are my favorite spring flower and these
are just starting to open. We have five bushes now
and I am so excited to see them all in bloom this year!
There will be purple, lavender and white blossoms
along with a lacey dwarf Korean lilac.

{note the splashes of yellow in the background...
those pesky dandelions. lol. }

This wild geranium always puts on a
pretty show for me.

This is a gorgeous blossom
on one of our apple trees.

Beautiful white pear tree blossoms. More stunning lilacs.

I love my bleeding heart plants.
They usually get huge, but they didn't get as
big this year.
I wonder if it is because of less rain.

Last, but not least...
I think these phlox almost look fake in this photo,
but they are real as real can be.

Enjoy your Saturday and have a
gorgeous weekend.

While I was out and about...

and you were inside,
just look at all the wonderful goodies I found.

These were marked as vintage bingo pieces.
I have never seen any like these, but whatever they are
I love them.

I also found an old game with these adorable
small cards inside. I need to find more of these!

Love these three spindles.
Not sure what I will do with them yet, but
had to pick them up.

corks, corks, corks....
$1.00 for a large bag at the goodwill.
Yep, I counted them...56.

vintage hangers at a garage/estate sale
a couple dollars for these and more.

not one...not two...but three vintage scrabble games!

I had not been able to find them for a long time and I found all these the same day! One at a sale for 75 cents, the other two at the goodwill. yay!

The thing about having a booth at the antique store is that I have to shop to keep it stocked! What a shame. I know most of us do not like to do that. lol!

Have a beautiful Friday!
