Food and Fun ~

Sharing a couple favorite recipes ~
Best Banana Bread ever~
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
3 bananas
3 tablespoons cream
2 cups flour
1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
pinch salt
chopped nuts {optional}
Cream the sugar and shortening together. Add the eggs and mix well.
Slice your bananas , add them and beat well.
Add all your dry ingredients and stir together.
Stir in nuts if desired and put in a greased loaf
pan and bake in 350 degree oven approx. 1 hour or until
toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
{this came from my grandmother and it is the best I have ever
tasted. Yumm!}
Octoberfest Skillet 16 ounce package Kielbasa, sliced {I used smoked sausage} 2 onions, quartered 2 tart apples, sliced 1 green pepper, sliced 2 tablespoons butter 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed Place sausage in skillet sprayed with non stick vegetable spray. Heat until browned around edges. Add onion, apples and pepper; heat until tender. {don't over cook or it will be mushy} Add butter and brown sugar; stir until mixture coats sausage and vegies. Serve over rice.
Makes 4 servings. We traveled to Indiana yesterday to attend granddaughter Keira's 2nd birthday party. She loves the five little ladybugs book that was part of her gift from us.
The dolly stroller we gave her was also a hit. She pushed it all over the house the whole time we were there. Such a sweetie! We love you Keira!! Blessings~
