Beautiful lampshades

I have been overwhelmed this week watching
the sad story coming out of Japan. Those
people certainly need our prayers during
this difficult time. I can't even begin to
imagine what many of them are going
through.

I am still sneezing , coughing and all that goes
along with it so I am not getting much
accomplished here this week. With that in mind , I decided to snap a few
pictures of some of my favorite lamps.

This is one of the lamps in my bedroom. The lace is a vintage collar. I just slipped
it over the lamp and it fit perfect.
{Now I am noticing the dark finial...I think
I need to get out the white paint}

I added a rosette made by yours truly and love
the simple look.

This lamp is a favorite. Right now it is in my
studio until I decide for sure where I do
want to put it. Maybe it will stay in there.
I found it at Home Goods several
weeks ago and did not purchase it.
Then the last time I was there...it became
mine. How can you beat 39.99 for such
a gorgeous lamp with this script shade?
I couldn't! :)

I have shown you this shade before. It came on
the antique figural lamp and I love it.

I saw this neat idea when we went to Shipshewana
so I made sure to get a photo of it.
Lace around the middle of them lamp and
then a handmade rubber stamped flower. Gorgeous!

Oops...I think my shade is crooked. Oh well,
I also purchased this lamp at Home Goods a
few years ago. It was upstairs in the guest bedroom
which is hardly ever used so I brought it down
and put it in my dining room. Love the
blousy fabric...it reminds me of a wedding dress.
I also added a Meadowstreet rose.

I will be linking up with Kathleen over at
Faded Charm again this week for White
Wednesday.
Thank you Kathleen for continuing to host!! Blessings~

A snowy white Wednesday

Wednesday snuck up on me yet again this week.
I didn't even realize it until I was going through my
blogroll and saw Kathleen's post. Argh! I need to
get better organized here!

Isn't this candleholder amazing? The story for this
is that I found the top of it {the scrolly part} at the
Goodwill, but it didn't have the bottom part
with it and it was not priced so I did not bring it home.
I went to an antique mall a week or so later and found
the whole thing. I know it was the same one because
the *dirt* was on it exactly like it was when I saw
it at the Goodwill. lol.

I am trying to redo my decor after taking down all my Christmas, but it is going very slowly.

We were dumped on last night with fluffy white
snow so I stepped outside to take a few photos
just for you.

Snow...snow beautiful snow.
{when I don't have to drive in it}
I will be cuddling with my granddaughters again
today...I know... such a hard job , but someone
has to do it. :)
Happy WW everyone.
Be sure and check out Faded Charm for more!
Blessings~

White Wednesday ~

it is almost time for hearts and love and romance...
i have been trying to get out of the
*doldrums*
{ def. - a period of stagnation or slump }
and i am craving my own *time and space*

{ hubby is laid off due to unforseen cirumstances where he works}

this week I just had to make something.

i found a ms heart *button* punch at michaels
last week and I used part of my gift card to snag it
and bring it home with me ~

So... i made a 9 foot heart and muslin garland~

{i have no idea what the french words say on the hearts...
i punched them out of a old french reader}
i love how it turned out,
but as usual sandi takes the long way around. did she glue the french paper and cardstock together first and then punch out the hearts...*oh noooo*...

she punched them out individually and then glued
each little heart together...what was she thinking ?? Obviously she wasn't !! lol

my beautiful new ralph lauren pillow that i scored at the goodwill for 1.99 when we visited my daughter at thanksgiving time. original tag on the inside was 59.99 and it has one of those scrumptious down pillow inserts ~ sparkly pear on vintage lace

which i call... *simplicity*

have a beautiful wednesday and be sure and visit kathleen at faded charm for more white wednesday posts~ blessings~

Wintery White Wednesday~

when i no longer thrill to the first snow of the season,
i'll know i'm growing old.
-lady bird johnson

snow
has arrived in michigan
a light dusting that fell ever so gently on rooftops and houses
soft as an angels wings ~
in the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
snow had fallen, snow on snow,snow on snow,
in the bleak midwinter, long ago.

angels and archangels may have gathered there,
cherubim and seraphim thronged the air,
but his mother only, in her maiden bliss,
worshipped the beloved with a holy kiss.

what can i give him, poor as i am? if i were a shepherd , i would bring a lamb;
if i were a wise man, i would do my part;
yet what i can i give him,
i give him my heart.
