Can I Just Say...

what a sweetheart our 10 year old granddaughter is!

We had the priviledge of having her spend the past week
with us and it has been an absolute joy!
You need to understand that this is the granddaughter
who lived with us from the day she was born,

{I watched her come into this world...*sniff* sniff*}

until she was four years old and now
she lives three hours away. We don't get to see
each other near as often as we would like so
we had a fun week together, but it flew by
way too fast and I miss her already ~

This precious child has more insight than
some adults that I know.
If I take her shopping and give her a few dollars,
she very rarely spends it on herself.
Her first thought is for others...her brother Jon...
or baby Joshua. She thinks of them first ...
or her mom and dad.
She is so kindhearted ~

A couple days ago my youngest son said to her, "Allysha, why don't you spend some of the
money on yourself" ... to which she answered
just as sweet as sweet could be...

"but I don't really need anything"

{lump in throat here...proud as proud can be}

*A little child shall lead them...*

  4. Your g-daughter sounds like she has the sweetest heart. And what a cutie she is! What a blessing that you got to enjoy her so much in those first years. Isn't it hard to be away from the little ones. I think there should be a law against our children moving away, don't you?

  6. That is a priceless gift, to think of others before herself. I can only imagine how precious she is to you!

  7. What a precious granddaughter you have helped raise! I, too, suffer withdrawals from ours, as we helped raise her from birth til she was 11 and they even lived with us most of that time. Tho we are only 1/2 hr. apart, the teenage years keep her very busy and I so miss those carefree days together! Enjoy every moment you can steal with yours!

    Happy PS!
