Meet EVA ~

Isn't she so sweet! I went to her antique store again Saturday and spent a couple hours
digging around and seeing what treasures I could find.
I asked her if I could take her picture and without hesitation she said,
"Why SURE"
and then she graciously thanked me when I was done
{she usually wears purple , but today she surprised me with red} ~
This is what you will see as you drive up to the store
She is closing in November ~ When you enter the doors she will tell you that almost everything is 75% off, but there are some things that are marked firm and they are now 1/2 off~ This was my first photo as I entered the store~
As you can see she still has gobs of goodies just waiting for
the right person to come along and purchase~
Dishes galore~
Love these statues. If I remember right I think the smaller one was
marked $200 so now it would be $50. I have no idea if that
is good or bad ~
All magazines are $1.00 each ~
All kinds of boxes and tins ~
Piles of these signs
RASPBERRIES FOR SALE...
10 cents each now~
Remember me telling you in previous posts that the downstairs
is just full of books and ephemera? This is the shot as I walked down the stairs and this is only
ONE AISLE...
There are several...
including
another separate room~
All the books downstairs are 90% off unless they are marked
$10.00 and under and those are now $1.00 each.
Maybe from these photos you can see why I continue to go back
periodically and come home with a few inexpensive treasures.
I wish I could take you all with me.
Eva told me that she hopes a rich man comes along
and buys the place and then hires someone to run it.
Too sweet...
I will miss her ~

Blessings~

Simply Beautiful ~

Teach us delight,
in simple things ~ Rudyard Kipling

I paid another visit to the antique store that is going out of
business this fall. I could spend hours there browsing through all
the goodies that are still left. I suppose some people would not want to darken the door as it is a very old store and most items are dusty and such, but I adore it. When I want to look for paper items I head back to that store. I hope that I remember to take my camera next time and get a picture of Eva the owner. As I have shared with you before, she is in her 90's and is still going strong. She always wears purple, has jet black hair and wears lots of vintage jewelry. She told me that some people have even asked to buy the necklaces and brooches that she wears.
I couldn't pass up these gorgeous pieces at 25 cents each ~ This one is an advertisement card. Eva told me she must have missed that one, because she was not selling those cards for 25 cents. (It was in with the 25 cent postcards), but she also said she is glad it was me who got it for that price and not someone else. YAY~ Isn't this couple beautiful? I love the colors~

I sure wish I could wave a magic wand and take you all there. You would be amazed at everything in that store and I am sure you would not leave empty handed either. Eva's husband died three years ago and now she doesn't want to be tied down to the store. She wants to go fishing!!! She even cleans the fish herself. Some might think her a bit eccentric I suppose , but aren't we all...
I think she is a joy.

Have a beautiful day today. Blessings~
