The Growers Daughter...Giveaway win part 2

Sharing with you today more items
that I won a few weeks ago from Maria at The Growers Daughter.

{I really hesitated to post these photos as I don't
think they do the items justice, but here we go
anyway}

I already showed you the bath salts and sachet,
but she also sent along lots of french paper goods.

{here is one of the beautiful towels}

vintage french vocabulary cards, old paper, buttons...

an old book in french...

old letters , fleur-de-lis cut outs, and
several old song sheets.

Love how she tied the towels all together in
this string with the french farmhouse tea towels
paper attached.

Love these tags too!!

I sure wish I was a better photographer, but I hope
you get the idea. I was overwhelmed with all kinds
of goodies and I will enjoy them for a long time
to come. Thank you again Maria! Blessings~

Marie Antionette, Finds and FUN ~

Have you ever anticipated a day that you just know
is going to be filled with laughter and fun?
Your heart longs for that day and when it arrives
you are just as excited as a kid at Christmas.
Lucky me...
I had that kind of day yesterday~
My dearest friend Peggy and I had a wonderful day out
and I enjoyed it so much. We used to get together
quite often, but now not so much so it was
wonderful to be in her company
and just talk, laugh and enjoy the day!
We went to Shipshewana, Indiana to the big world wide renowned
flea market and auction. If you have never been
to this auction it is something to behold!
It starts promptly at 9 am
when they ring a loud bell and
THEN
Oh my...the fun begins.
There are several auctioneers that start right off
all at once. You can roam around and pick one group
for awhile and then go on to the next.
It is utter chaos , but oh so fun!!
We were at the auction for about four hours and this Marie box
is the item I purchased! I could not believe that
I actually got it for the price I did.
I thought it might go sky high.
Not very long afterwards
someone came up to me and wanted
to know what I paid for it. I told her
and she asked me if I would sell it.
It is good she wasn't around when I was bidding. lol
It has a glass top with the Marie photo underneath and when I opened the lid...~
I found these old letters. I can't wait to check them out ~
From the auction we went into the flea market to a few places
and I puchased this basket from Sweet Annies ~
Loved the uniqueness of it...it appears
flat on the back in this photo, but it isn't.
It has a neat shape~
Back to the auction barn...after the man was all done
selling his items where I purchased my Marie box
there were a few items left that no one had bid on.
These teacups and saucers were in the pile.
I picked them up and were
looking them over and the kind gentleman
shoved them towards me and said,
"Just take them...please...take them! "
I thanked him profusely and scooped them up.
As if I didn't already have enough fun...next we went to
some of the shops uptown.
We were like giddy schoolgirls when we both decided to purchase
matching shirts. Well kinda matching. I bought this
Paris shirt
and my friend purchased a Italy shirt.
We also bought matching
neckscarves for the winter that are so beautiful!! {I will share them at a later time}
This beautiful vintage light also came home with me
...purchased it for a song too.
It needs a little cleaning and I need to have
hubby to actually get it working
and hang it up. I may turn it into a candleholder...
still trying to decide.

Thank you my dear friend PEGGY for a wonderful
fun filled day that I will always cherish!
Blessings~

Meet EVA ~

Isn't she so sweet! I went to her antique store again Saturday and spent a couple hours
digging around and seeing what treasures I could find.
I asked her if I could take her picture and without hesitation she said,
"Why SURE"
and then she graciously thanked me when I was done
{she usually wears purple , but today she surprised me with red} ~
This is what you will see as you drive up to the store
She is closing in November ~ When you enter the doors she will tell you that almost everything is 75% off, but there are some things that are marked firm and they are now 1/2 off~ This was my first photo as I entered the store~
As you can see she still has gobs of goodies just waiting for
the right person to come along and purchase~
Dishes galore~
Love these statues. If I remember right I think the smaller one was
marked $200 so now it would be $50. I have no idea if that
is good or bad ~
All magazines are $1.00 each ~
All kinds of boxes and tins ~
Piles of these signs
RASPBERRIES FOR SALE...
10 cents each now~
Remember me telling you in previous posts that the downstairs
is just full of books and ephemera? This is the shot as I walked down the stairs and this is only
ONE AISLE...
There are several...
including
another separate room~
All the books downstairs are 90% off unless they are marked
$10.00 and under and those are now $1.00 each.
Maybe from these photos you can see why I continue to go back
periodically and come home with a few inexpensive treasures.
I wish I could take you all with me.
Eva told me that she hopes a rich man comes along
and buys the place and then hires someone to run it.
Too sweet...
I will miss her ~

Blessings~

More Vintage Paper ~

More antique prints that I purchased last week from the antique store that is going out of business. I just couldn't pass them up~
Paid a whopping 50 cents each for these.

My oldest son , his wife and our 1 year old GD are home this weekend. We haven't seen them for quite some time so I will not be spending much time on the computer. I hope to have more GD pictures to show you next week.

Have a wonderful weekend! Blessings~
