Tresors from my bedroom

I thought I would let you take a peek inside my bedroom today. I think I have shown parts of it quite some time ago, but it has been awhile. Not much has changed except for an accessory or two, but I have been playing around in PicMonkey so the photos are a bit different. That program is very addicting and I can see how a person could waste spend hours in there playing around.

Notice the white lanterns? I hung these on my chandy just to get them out of the way when I had the fairy party for my grands LAST SUMMER! I keep thinking that I need to move them, but somehow it always gets pushed to the very bottom of my to do list.

A very favorite vintage ceiling tin frame that has been in here forever, but I just LOVE it!

Also , a very favorite shelf that I have had for several years as well and wish I had more. :)

The beautiful photo in the frame came from Alice over at Thoughts from Alice blog.

An old shutter, vintage lace and just lovely goodness.

I have a obsession with vintage mirrors and this one is a favorite, along with my linen bag that I purchased at the French Flea in Tipton, Indiana the first year they had it.

Donna from D. Reyne made the bag and she did an awesome job.

See, I CAN do color !! ha!

I used to have tons of scarves hanging on each curly-q that is on the hanging planter, but I just took them off a week or two ago. Sometimes a gal just needs a change.

I hope you enjoyed your mini tour of my bedroom today.  My bed isn't made yet today, but I will get to that as soon as I post this. lol.

I spent the last two days over at my sons house babysitting my two precious granddaughters and I took lots of photos, so I hope to be doing a post soon.

Happy Thursday!! :)

{Note: Don't you just love the metal cross in the first photo? I scooped that up at Hobby Lobby in their 80% off sale. I had to fork over a whopping 80 cents for it. Funny thing is that I had looked at it several weeks ago , but it didn't have a price so I just put it back. Sometimes it is just a hassle to get that figured out, but I was there again last week and saw it in the discount pile so decided I wasn't leaving without it. ha!}

Vintage Barn Market

I wanted to share my friend Marian's store with you. She has rented out a partial store
in Delta, Ohio and named it
Vintage Barn Market.

She has transformed it beautifully!! I love her style, decor and amazing talent!!

{Sorry this photo is a little blurry, but I just had to include it. Yesterday when I was there someone
had purchased all the clay pots in the cubby so they are gone now}

I believe this gorgeous piece above has found a new home already.

I love her attention to detail and all the nice pieces that she has to sell. I think my home needs
a makeover. ha! If I was just starting out setting up house, I would come here for furniture!

Isn't the chalkboard saying soooooooo cute!!! Love it! I may have to steal it Marian!! ::)

French style...YES please!

I love these bags!! I am afraid that I would be constantly broke if I lived any closer to this
 store. ha!

What a table! Look at the detail??

Sorry we have glare here, but a professional photographer I am not. Loving the old  fireplace
surround, the mirrors, oh... I just love it all!!

Marian must work constantly because she is always taking new pieces in to replace the ones
that have sold.

I fell in LOVE with this bench from the moment I saw it.

I love the table also, but it is too big for my house.  Just look at the detail on those legs!! I have never seen
a table like this. So GORGEOUS!!

P.S. The bench now resides in my home. YIPPEE!!!!!

Marian asked me to sell some of my treasures in her store so I was happy to oblige.

One of my fun little glittery nests...

Marian and her hubby sure keep busy painting and they do an awesome job!

A beautiful beveled mirror!

I hope you enjoyed your visit to Vintage Barn Market today.  If you want to connect with Marian on
facebook you can click here.  Be sure and tell her that I sent you. :)
Happy Wednesday ~

PS Can I ask you for to bombard heaven for my daughters family please?? Life is so hard sometimes,
especially when you least expect it...:(

First White Wednesday of 2011

Okay here we are once again and as usual I am
not ready.
These photos will have to make do for this week's
White Wednesday. You would think I would have
it all together by now , but I don't. Maybe someday I
will but it is highly doubtful! lol.

I thought I would share a few of my Christmas goodies
with you. My daughter gave me the napkins above
and I love them!
{along with a gift certificate to a favorite b and b}
Can't wait to go...probably this summer.

My talented daughter-in-law Melissa has been talking
about doing these types of pictures for quite some time,
but I was still very surprised to open this when we
celebrated Christmas with them this past weekend. She
took all the photos herself and said that they searched
all over for a white frame and just couldn't find one. I will
either leave it as is or have hubby spray it white. Love it!

This was my favorite snack this year for the holidays.
all natural drizzled black and white
kettlecorn
I purchased it at Walmart and have since gone back for
several more bags. {hey...they are small bags. lol.}
Everyone who tasted it said it was the best popcorn
they ever had.
It is called Indiana popcorn {but I first found it in Ohio
and Michigan}
I could eat a whole bag at one sitting if I really tried.

This is one of the gifts that my youngest son and his family

gave me and I have yet to open them.

I think they look pretty this way.

I found this at TJ Maxx on our New Years weekend
jaunt to Indiana. It has a glass insert and it matches my
tall basket just perfect that I got at Home Goods this
past summer. It was a steal at $5.99.

I have been furiously trying to get my house back in
order and it is taking too long. I am trying to clean out
and purge and it is hard when I don't know what to
keep and what to get rid of, but I am slowly getting
it done. How about you? Have you got all your
Christmas put away yet? Sorting...purging...
cleaning?? This happens every year with me after
the holidays. I feel like I just need to downsize and
get this house cleaned out.

Blessings~

Candlelight ~

The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom
shall I fear...
Psalms 27:1

I love candlelight.
I don't light this candleholder near
as often as I would like, but I love it .

Thankful for His light and His salvation today.

Guest Room ~

I thought I would share a few pictures from the bedroom upstairs that we now use for our guest room. It is constantly a work in progress, but it is coming along. Hubby thinks we should move our room up there and have the guest room downstairs. Still trying to decide for sure if that is what I want to do. There are pros and cons to doing that. CONS: It is all geared to the size beds that are in there now (two twin beds) and the *BLUE* decor. That means I would have to redecorate *EVERYTHING*...so probably not anytime soon. I would also like to eventually get just one larger bed for that room. PROS: It is a huge room compared to our bedroom and I love the wood floor...maybe someday~ This is a favorite large old basket that I love ...chippy blue paint and all ~ Here is that chandlier again that has never gotten put up. I am thinking of putting it on Craigs list because I don't think it ever will get up and now I am not so sure I want it in that room ~
One of the twin beds with an antique chenille spread on it that I adore ~
Shelf of *PRETTIES* ~
I hope you have a wonderful day! Blessings ~

Stairway Wall & Other Projects ~

I think I am finally done with my stairway wall for now. I was up and down on the ladder so many times yesterday that when I woke up this morning I had muscles screaming at me that haven't been used like that in a long time! I really wanted to put Wall Words above my mirror, but trying to conserve and not purchase anything right now I decided to use things I already have.

I hung an old empty frame up above the mirror and then draped it with a piece of very old fabric that is so soft! I didn't want to cut it up, so I swoshed it over to the one side. What do you think? I love the photograph in the center that I purchased from Alice over at Painted White some time ago. I want to put it in an old frame too, but until I find one the right size I just have the photo on the wall. I realized after it was all done that I probably should have offset the frame...oh well...*SIGH*

Isn't this chandelier so pretty?? Another project *WAITING* to be finished. I purchased this (with the Rachel Ashwell shades included) at an antique mall for $25 probably two years ago and it has never been put up. I do hope to actually get hubby to install it this summer. I will keep you posted ~
I love this door! I think I am turning into a gyspy!! LOL This is the door to our guest room that has needed stripped for years and this past summer I finally did it. It had layers and layers of white paint on top of blue paint or blue something...so this is the door stripped of the paint with blue *whatever* left behind. I was going to paint it white again , but we had kids coming to visit before I got it done so we hung it up as is and it has really grown on me. I even attached a bit of lace to it with old thumb tacks...am I crazy or is it just my age?
I hope you have a wonderful day today ...blessings!
