Apple Orchard Visit

We visited an apple orchard while at my daughter's
last weekend and I was able to snap a few photos to
share with you. Don't you just love all these cute
tiny pumpkins and gourds?

Larger white pumpkins for purchase...
they need a bath! lol

Loved this assortment of pumpkins/squash. My granddaughter thought some looked like they were covered with peanut shells.

I brought this greenish/yellowish one on the left side of the photo home with me. I think it is some type of squash, but I just loved the shape.

lovely produce

Hubby and son-in-law tasted the cheese, but I passed. I am sure it was yummy though.

organic popcorn

assorted honey sticks in many flavors for 25 cents each

of course we can't forget the apples! lol

pretty pot sitting outside

GD Allysha, GS Jon and DH on the hay ride we
went on. It was raining so it was nice they had a tarp
over the top!

The driver was supposed to stop at the pumpkin
patch and let us pick one out , but that didn't happen
for some reason so we just picked out a prepriced one
when we got back.
It was a very fun day despite all the rainy icky weather.
Hope you enjoyed your tour !

Oh yes, I missed photos of the most important part. lol.
They make donuts right there at the orchard and of
course we purchased some. They were delish!!

I don't intentionally spoil my grandkids...

...it's just that correcting them often
takes more energy than I have left.

I snagged these photos from my daughter. My son-in-law took them at an estate near their home and I love them!!
Candid shots of my sweeties.

This is Joshua...he had to be propped up. :)

Allysha ~ our first grandchild and she is 11
years old already!

Perfect love sometimes does not come
until the first grandchild.

Love this photo!! {mommy snuck in there too}

What a sweetie!

Can I get down now?

Enough already!

I sure hope we are almost done, don't you Jon?

I will leave you with some wonderful grandparent quotes:

I wish I had the energy that my grandchildren have -
if only for self-defense.
~Gene Perret

My granddaughter came to spend a few weeks with me,
and I decided to teach her to sew.
After I had gone through a lengthy explanation
of how to thread the machine,
she stepped back,
put her hands on her hips,
and said in disbelief,
"You mean you can do all that,
but you can't play my Game Boy?"

What a bargain grandchildren are!
I give them my loose change,
and they give me a million dollars' worth
of pleasure.

Eggs Anyone?

We had so much fun having an Easter egg hunt
for the grandchildren after church today.
We only had three that could attend ,
but it was definitely a day to remember!

I sent dh and the rest of the guys outside
to distribute the eggs. We ended up with
37 eggs per child! That is a lot of eggs
to find places for.

We had to stop our sweeties in their tracks for pictures
before they came bounding out the door to find the eggs.

There were eggs in the bushes...

on the outlet...

among the chives...

and on the ground.

Annika did so good at picking her eggs up and
putting them in her basket.

Jon, on the other hand kept taking
breaks to eat what was inside his eggs! LOL

I found some more!

Once again, Jonathan sitting down eating
the chocolate...too cute~

All done gathering eggs and headed into the house
to open them and collect the goodies.

This is the first Easter egg hunt we have had for
years. We had one when Allysha was younger
and she was the only grandchild, but somehow
it never worked out since then.

It was a lot of fun
watching the grands get so excited over finding
the eggs. We will definitely be doing it again
next year and we hope that Keira can
be here to join in the fun because we
sure missed her today!

{I didn't get hardly any pictures of Allysha because
she took off around the other side of the house
and I didn't know where she was! }

I hope you had a wonderful Easter day !

A hundred years from now... ~

...it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort
of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...but the world
may be different because I was important in the life of
a child.

We spent the last two weekends visiting with our
grandchildren {and children} that live away from us.
We had a most wonderful time ~

Sweet little Keira loves her pretty necklaces Look at all the blonde curly hair. She will welcome a baby brother in a few weeks. She also loves books! She is reading to her daddy and he soaks it all in.
Our precious little Annika who lives closeby
Grandma had just given her a bath
silly little girl
Adorable baby Joshua and yours truly...

My sweet Lyshie (Allysha) who lived with us for the first
four years of her life. It went so fast. She is now almost 11 years old.
Love this coat of hers from Old Navy.
and last but certainly not least
is handsome Jonathan.
definitely all boy.
He sure loves his grandma though. :)

Nothing can do for little children what grandparents do.
Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the
lives of little children.
