I have decided it is time to let some of my shabby chic items go to a new home as I have
way too many pretties for one household.

This is a gorgeous blue rose tablecloth that measures approx. 58 inches x 96 inches
{including ruffle} I don't have the original packaging, but it is new. I think I put it
over a table once just to take some photos, but it has not been used for an actual
sit down dinner , so as such, it is in new condition. I think this pattern is called
British Rose, but I am not sure.

This past week I went to my sisters house in PA for a visit. Hubby doesn't like me traveling
 alone so he met my sister and brother-in-law halfway and then he went back home.

We had the BEST time ever!

That is what sisters do right?? YES! SO much fun, shopping, eating and all that goes along
with it, but we wore ourselves out. :) I went out on Tuesday evening and hubby then drove
out on Saturday to pick me up and we headed back home yesterday afternoon.

Hubs and I were chatting and getting comfortable for the four hour plus trip. He told me
that the car just purred along on the way out to get me and I swear it was no sooner than
2 minutes later , the car started revving up and would not drive...right in the middle of a
busy highway!! Thankfully we got it over to the shoulder and it would do NOTHING!
 None of the gears worked {I think that is how you explain it} ...called my sister
 and her hubby and they came back and got us and took us to their house while
 a wrecker pulled our car back and parked it in their driveway.  Brother-in-law is a pastor so
he got someone else to preach for him that evening and him and my sister took us half
way home and met our son to get us the rest of the way home.  LONG story short.
It has been towed to a mechanic in PA and we will get an estimate tomorrow. We are
 pretty sure it is the transmission so this will not be fun!

I am thinking if I could get maybe two thousand people or so to each send me
one dollar it just might cover the repairs. hee hee A girl can dream right?? :)

 Life throws us curve balls when we least expect it  doesn't it?  Sandi doesn't like curve balls.
Sandi wants her life to just sail along and not have any of her sails ruffled at all, but I guess
God sometimes has different plans. Praying this will all work out...would you say a prayer
 for us too please? 

The land of good intentions

Have you ever been to this land...the land of good intentions?
I seem to frequent it way too often.  It starts when I lay in bed at night thinking about what a productive
day I will have when the next morning arrives.  My brain just can't shut off.  Believe me I have tried many
times and it just doesn't work.  "I will sew this and make that and paint this and finish that...and, and,
and!  Before I know it the "next day" has come and gone and I am lying in bed once again dreaming
of this far away land.  So close , but yet so far away! {for me anyways} 

I will happily admit that some of these good intentions actually came to fruition a few days ago when
I painted and embellished these darling little egg cartons that I have had for a couple years. 

I could not decide what I wanted to do with them so they just hung out in my studio until a couple days
ago when inspiration struck.  It all started with some chocolate strawberry Lindt truffles that I found in
my cupboard and forgot I even had. 

First I painted the boxes and then embellished them with a graphic that I found from The Graphics Fairy
quite some time ago.

I added some sparkly glitter to the tops of them...

...along with some other pretty embellishments.

I tied white crinkled seam binding ribbon through the middle of the carton lid where there
was a hole ...

...and added a tag as well. This way when you open the box the tag lays right on top of the truffles.

I also took small white doilies and lined the four little egg compartments with them.

As a finishing touch I tied them up with seam binding ribbon or striped twine.

Now wouldn't you love to get one of these for Easter? I know I would. lol.
 {Now I wish I had more of these little cartons!}

I own two GENUINE shabby chic items

purchased back then.

One is this box of matches

{as you can see it is still unopened...how silly is that}

I also adore my enameled antique hand held mirror with

gorgeous pink roses.

Can't forget the pretty little vintage sachet either ~

I purchased this Shabby Chic tote a few years ago on ebay

and I am sure you all know how when you really want something

you can get caught up in *auction fever*...that was me!

I didn't over pay, but I thought it was much larger than it

actually is. I vowed to pay attention from then on. {lol}

I do love it though ~

The fabric is so beautiful and the colors are so soft ~

Tell a loved one today how much you love and appreciate them.

Signs...Signs...Everywhere Signs ~

A few of the signs I have made in the past. I made them mostly in the spring/summer and fall and not so much in the winter because of lack of heat in the workshop. I really enjoyed making them, but haven't done it so much this year. Here are a few of my favorites from my *SIGN* file~

Sad Sign of the Times ~

Maybe you already know this , but I just found out that *SHABBY CHIC* just filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy last week. I have always loved Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic line ...especially the line at Target which I can afford. I have a duvet cover and shams, several sets of sheets and other goodies such as towels, *PINK* matches (and matchbox) , curtains ...etc...all from her Target line and I love them. I purchased the above tote bag from her upscale Shabby Chic line on ebay a few years ago. I thought it would be larger (there I go for not reading the fine print again...LOL) , but I have always loved it anyways just as it is. It saddens me to think that this bad economy has claimed yet another victim, but I believe she will be back and better than ever. After all she is a fighter and will fight for her company.
