White Wednesday ~

White Phlox would have been just perfect for my wedding.
32 Years ago today...
We
Were Married~
Still loving the sleeves on my wedding dress,
...the ribbon sash,
...lacey bodice,
...ribbon tie in the back,
...the train,
...and my handmade veil~
Who would have thought
we would be at this time in our lives
so soon.
Seems like just yesterday.
The years have flown by so fast.
Although I must confess...
we
ELOPED.
Never got to wear my dress
so sad I know...
what WAS I thinking.

{who knows at the age of 18}

The pure white color has mellowed to
a soft cream,
and it hangs upstairs in my guest room
It is still beautiful to me today.

Please visit Faded Charm blog for more
beautiful White Wednesday posts.

Roses & Teacup Tuesday~

I told Kim over at Shabby Pink and Pretty
that I would participate in Teacup Tuesday today.
I decided to share some of my mini teacups that have
pretty rose patterns. {I do apologize if I have shared
any of these before...I am getting so forgetful these days}
I adore this antique teacup with it's pink rose pattern. It sets in my studio and holds buttons and other odds and ends~

My best friend gave this small teacup set to me one year for a birthday gift. It belonged to her grandmother and I cherish it ~ Love this cute teacup that is on a shelf in my bathroom. One day it fell and the handle broke off, but I was able to glue it back on and you can't tell that it was ever broken. I have been running so much lately with my dad and all that I am very thankful to have today at home. I do not plan on going anywhere. I need to catch up on some much needed rest. Thank you again for all your prayers. God is answering and we are very grateful. Blessings~

Mini Getaway...Part Three ~

I promised you a few more photos of our getaway at the
and I had to include the breakfast.
First they brought us a plate of banana bread
and a large bowl of mixed fruit...
Strawberries,black raspberries
{or blackberries - not sure which},
grapes,cantaloupe and blueberries.
SO YUMMY~
This is how the banana bread was presented to us.
So pretty~ Next they brought out Belgian waffles, bacon,
cottage potatoes, orange juice and coffee.
It was all so delicious!
{bummed that I didn't get pictures of all the food}
We ate in this dining room. at the table in front of the window~
This is the coffee bar behind part of an old piano.
Unique and neat idea~
Just look at these fabulous legs on the piano. GORGEOUS~
This room just off of the dining room houses a gift shop
which is kept stocked with lots of goodies.
If you are ever in the area you must check them out...
I know you will love it as much as we did~ Blessings~

Mini Getaway ...Part Two ~

The Master Suite ~
We ascended the gorgeous spiral staircase to our room
THE MASTER SUITE at the top of the stairs ~Our bedroom for the night ~
Love the bowed windows, lace curtains
and the four poster bed~
Amazing victorian furniture ...
...beside our bed ~
The piece de resistance...
two pieces of delicious vanilla cake
with raspberry filling
awaited us when we entered ~
This is a smaller room off of our room for extra guests...
we didn't take anyone extra.
It was just US ~
Antique wicker doll carriage in the extra room~
The room we stayed in is just below the peak .
The great part for us is that both times we have stayed here
we had gift certificates. I wouldn't mind
gettting that gift every year....*hint hint* {to my kids} lol.

I highly recommend this B and B for a lovely getaway.
{and they did not tell me to say that...lol}
The hospitality and atmosphere is just wonderful.
Tomorrow I will share more photos of the inside.

Blessings~

Mini Getaway {Kimmell House Inn}~

We planned a mini getaway a few weeks ago at the
{my cousin's gorgeous Italianate bed and breakfast}
and as it turns out our reservation was for last night.
I didn't know if we would be able to go
because of my dad's health,
but he is home and doing better
{plus my siblings are home now as well}
so it worked out after all~
This is a shed and flowers on their property~
Looking over their back yard fence...
The have built a new house behind the B and B ~
Gorgeous arbor and flowers~
Huge fountain, but alas... the water has not been hooked up yet ~
This patio set greets us on the front porch~
If you click on the Kimmell House Inn link and then click on Master Suite...that is the room we stayed in this time.
We had a wonderful relaxing time and can't wait to go back again.
I did get a few more pictures that I will be sharing soon.
Blessings~
