Wonderful Chippy Rusty Find ~

Isn't this the greatest shabby find ?? I found it last Friday on our adventures around the county.
We stopped at a garage sale, one of my favorite thrift stores and another little store that I LOVE and that is where I found this item. I really don't know if you would call it a table or what, but I can just see pots of herbs or flowers sitting in it and trailing over the side. Any other ideas?
I would love to hear them...
When I saw that this gem was only 5.99 I just had to pick it up. The people who own the store know me by name and the gentleman could not believe I would want this rusty old thing. I said YES of course I do! (LOL) I told him my husband was sitting out in the car and would be shaking his head when I carried it out and boy was I spot on. TOO FUNNY! But hubby really doesn't mind what I buy...he is just a cabinet builder (on the side) and still hasn't figured out why people would want things that are chippy, rusty and distressed looking.
I will say though that he doesn't mind at all what I carry in the house and is very easy going with my style of decorating. Have a wonderful day filled with unexpected blessings ~

Grandma's Apron ~

I adore vintage aprons and I have picked up several here and there for a little of nothing over the years. I listed a few of them on my Etsy site and that got me thinking about my own Grandma who has passed on, but I remember so well how she literally wore an apron every day. It was just part of her "dress" back then and you rarely saw her without one on. She also made the absolute BEST maple cinnamon rolls ever! People would come from miles around to get a taste of her wonderful rolls. Homemade cinnamon rolls with maple frosting...my mouth is watering just thinking about them. When my siblings and I would visit and Grandma was making rolls, we would always snitch some of the raw dough and pop it in our mouth. It was sooooooo good! ( I know that is a no-no today) And the best thing was that Grandma didn't care. She was also the best example of a wonderful Christian lady and didn't have a bad word to say about anyone. She passed away in July of 1977 and I sure miss her...
Grandma's Apron
by Tina Trivett
The strings were tied, it was freshly washed, and maybe even pressed. For Grandma, it was everyday to choose one when she dressed. The simple apron that it was, you would never think about; the things she used it for, that made it look worn out.
She may have used it to hold some wildflowers that she'd found. Or to hide a crying child's face when a stranger came around. Imagine all the little tears that were wiped with just that cloth. Or it became a potholder to serve some chicken broth.
She probably carried kindling to stoke the kitchen fire. To hold a load of laundry, or to wipe the clothesline wire. When canning all her vegetables, it was used to wipe her brow. You never know, she might have used it to shoo flies from the cow.
She might have carried eggs in from the chicken coop outside. Whatever chore she used it for, she did them all with pride. When Grandma went to heaven, God said she now could rest. I'm sure the apron that she chose, was her Sunday best.
Blessings today ~

Spring Cloche ~

Cloche ~ pronounced (klōsh) 1. a bell shaped cover used to protect young plants (or to decorate with...LOL ) I knew I wanted to do something different with my large cloche so I tackled that project last night and this is what I came up with. I may do a little tweaking on the ribbon etc. , but I wanted to get this posted before we run off today. I used a real birds nest and dried hydrangeas off my bush. I have it sitting on an old vanity that is inside the door of my entry way. I do hope you enjoy my *LITTLE TOUCH OF SPRING*... Blessings ~

Tiny Birthday Cake ~

Our little granddaughter Annika turned 2 years old this past Sunday so we are celebrating with her tonight... I made this little cake for her...it is so tiny and cute! It is only 5 inches in diameter. I will put two pink candles on it when it is time... Looked for the perfect card...you know how some cards are $3 and $4 each...well I love this one and it was only 88 cents *AND* it has sparkles too...Yes I know she isn't going to care about the card, but had to get one for her keepsakes ~
Simple birthday greeting inside that says it all...
Take time to enjoy the special moments in your life and stop and smell the roses.

Pink *BLOG GIVEAWAY* for a Little Princess ~

I opened up one of my linen drawers and found this shirt that I had totally forgotten about! I purchased this for my granddaughter two Christmas's ago. It was too small for her and I never got it returned so I thought why not do a *BLOG GIVEAWAY* for the little princess in your life... It is a size medium...I think that translates to a size 10-12 , but not totally sure. Isn't it adorable... It is long sleeved, tag still attached and it says, "Yes I am a Princess ...My Father is the King of Kings"...John 1:12. The words are embellished with glitter and it is an adorable shirt for a young girl who loves her Heavenly Father! I will put your name in the drawing once for leaving a comment on *THIS* post telling me who you will give this shirt to if you win (Hey... I am a curious person..lol ) and I will enter your name twice if you also post this giveaway on your blog. Just be sure and let me know if you do. You can enter to give this to your child, grandchild, niece, etc. I will draw a winner on Sunday, March 29th. Blessings ~

Spring Decor ~

Hubby and I took youngest son out to eat last night just to be with him and near to him as he has really been going through some very rough times lately and of course we just HAD to stop at the Goodwill too. I found this birdcage and brought it right along home with me. I then embellished it with vintage millinery flowers and old lace. Love it and the colors...enjoy ~
If you think about it please say a prayer for my son that God will give him peace in the midst of a very turbulent storm....Blessings ~

It's HERE...it's HERE ~

It has finally arrived and I am so excited....SPRING! I am ready to get out in the dirt and dig around. A couple days ago I went outside and cleaned up three wheelbarrows full of leaves etc. that didn't get raked up in the fall and I also took my camera out and took some shots. I hope you enjoy them. An angel on my potting shed door..... Garden stake...
Tree face that I love...
Saw this idea in a magazine and hubby and I went right to work a couple years ago. There is eye bolt thingy attached to the door of my potting shed, so I can attach this hook to the door and it holds it open. Love this idea!
Door knocker...
Old cement column...
Guardian angel...
Cement bunny...got two of these at the Goodwill for next to nothing...
I am so glad the longgggg winter is over...or at least I certainly hope it is. Since today is officially the first day of spring ....Happy Spring everyone! Blessings~

A Little Inspiration ~

I was getting something out of my closet today and ran across this cute little purse and had to share it with you. I purchased this at the Goodwill several months ago and it appears to me that it is made out of a quilted placemat. It doesn't look like it would be too hard to make. I love the pink rose pattern and in fact I sold some placemats and quilts in this same pattern on ebay a couple years ago. Cute, inspiring and *ROSEY* idea !
