It just so happens that I love anything to do with Paris or the French style so it was
a pure delight when my daughter surprised me with a Parisian style birthday party a
couple weeks ago.

{way back on March 8...my birthday is the 10th}

 The lighting wasn't that great for pics , but I did the
best I could and I loved every little detail. 

 She said she googled "Parisian brunch" and found out they have lots of pastries so that
is what the party was all about .

Cream puffs sprinkled with powdered sugar and croissants along with those little pastry sticks.

YUMM!!

She also used small goblets and served me sparkling juice...

and  she filled a second one with fruit and cream.

The main course was quiche and asparagus.

OH MY WORD!!! 

They were just delicious!!!

All made from scratch by her loving hands.

{ I gotta find me some "scratch" }

YES, I ate both pieces because they were two different kinds.

{that is my excuse anyway}

She also whipped up some chocolate cupcakes with raspberry filling and icing.

The Eiffel tower chocolate...Yep she made that also!

In fact I forgot I have a couple of those!

Wait a minute while I run out to the kitchen and take a bite!!

Okay I am back. tee hee.

Just what I needed tonight.

 Seriously!!

As if that amazing meal wasn't enough, she also gifted me with these two huge mugs and I love them.

{along with a book and seems like something else, but I forgot what...haha!}

Oh, I forgot to tell you that we were out shopping that day and she said we had to stop at
one more store so she could run in for something. I waited in the car and when she got back
she said she had to dig through tons of these "things" to find the specific one she wanted and
they only had ONE in the print she wanted. I found out later it was the tablecloth with the
 coffee cups on it. She didn't miss one little detail!

Then on my actual birthday my son and his family brought me dinner and these cupcakes
that granddaughter Annika picked out for me.  I now have FOUR heart shaped rings...
one for two fingers on each hand. :)

They brought chicken, baked beans and coleslaw that was delicious as well.

I LOVE family times!

I was headed for bed that same evening and I received a phone call from my oldest
son Jason. I picked up the receiver and I said, 

"Hello"...

...nothing...

"Hello"...

...all of a sudden four precious voices started singing Happy Birthday to me.
 Mommy,daddy and grandchildren Kanaan and Keira.

 It was the perfect end to a perfect day. ♥

Today, my bff took me out for my birthday lunch and handed me this adorable card!!

{I love stretching my birthday out over several weeks because then it seems like I celebrate me all
 month long. lol}

She also gave me this belt which I absolutely L.O.V.E.

In fact I have it on right now.

Her and I quit exchanging gifts a few years ago and I reminded her of that , but she informed me
that she could get me something if she wanted to. haha!! Love you Peggy!!!

I just love it when my family and friends "get me" and understand what it is that I love.

Now, they may think that I am cracked, but they indulge me and that is fun.
After all, we all are unique creatures and that is what makes the world go round.

55 years old...oh my goodness!!
Where in the world did those years go? Funny thing is that I don't feel that old...at least
not most of the time. ha!!

Here's to another 55 years...bring it on!

Was it worth it??? {Update on items for sale}

{UPDATE: several of you have contacted me wanting to purchase items , but some

I kinda felt like I was getting ready for a wedding...you know...a big production.

Sewing, gluing, painting, creating, glittering, printing, cutting,scrunching, packaging...
for days weeks on end and then

POOF...

It is  over with...done...fanito!

I am one tired lady and I have decided that once a year is about all of this that I can handle. ha!
{Kudos to you who do this every week or even more...my hats off to you!!}

I got many, many compliments on how nice my treasures were and some people even
purchased an item or two.

But when you get right down to it...did I sell very much??

I sold a few of the burlap bags and several stockings
{but still have some left}

 
...a few candles and ornies

 one of these Eiffel towers sold

the star boxes didn't sell...two cloches did

I think I sold maybe three sets of candles at $ 6.00 a set...all my number tags went except one set.

I didn't sell any of the old tart tin glitter ornies, {I think they were $6 each}
 but I did sell some of the music ornies with angels on.

All three paper trees sold

a few nests sold 

some music sheet angel wings sold, the beautiful white script ones didn't 

Sold one bottle , none of the cabinet cards, none of the scrabble tile sayings etc.

...so the million dollar question is:

was it worth it???

Well...I am not sure.  If I wouldn't have had two
ladies that purchased a lot from me, then I would 
say it was iffy at best. Do I want to do it again
next year?   Time will tell. I suppose there is something
to be said for hanging in there year after year and
hoping my  "style"  grows on people.  Also, am I pricing
too cheap? I know I am not pricing too expensive. 

Lots of questions, but all in all it was still a 
great day. I met many wonderful people and chatted
up a storm with them! ha! Here's to small town living!!

I've been kinda snappy today!

...no, not that kind of snappy...snappy with my camera! lol

{sorry for the yellowish glow. lighting is terrible here today and I had to
have the overhead light on}

I will confess that I am still in my pj's today and it is after 11am here. I RARELY do this,
but today I have no obligations and I am just being lazy with not a care in the world. :)

I purchased this basket at TJ Maxx to use at a show that never happened,  so I use it around my home.
This setting on my camera is color accent or color swap ...I don't remember which. ha!

This is the regular setting on the camera so you can see that the note cards are
really this color instead of white. Cameras sure have come a long way from what
 they used to be. I have had mine for a few years now and still haven't figured
 it all out.

This is a gray linen blouse that I fell in love with at TJ Maxx and purchased it over a year
ago. Then I went and lost weight and it does not fit me! I didn't even have a chance to
wear it once.  :(

I purchased this vintage pink dress at an antique store years ago. It is so sweet with
an underskirt of tulle.

I have had my fun for the day so I better get cracking and actually do something.
Any suggestions?? ha!! Happy Saturday!!

Printed burlap at JoAnn Fabric!

I feel rather icky today with another attack of vertigo, but I wanted to get this posted. Have you seen this printed burlap at JoAnn Fabric? They also have some with a skeleton key design. Cool stuff!! My bff told me about it so I had to check it out for myself.  Last time I was at the store they did not have this so it is relatively new.

I haven't done anything with mine yet, but I sure will when I figure out what! lol

You might also want to pick up some of these when you are at JoAnn's. I found them several weeks ago. They have many items in this theme. I will use them for tags or something along that line.

Have brush...will paint!

Put a can of white paint and a paintbrush

near me and watch out. Everything in the

nearby vacinity will get painted! lol

I purchased this mirror intending to paint it white

and put it in my booth...

Well...the painted white part happened, but the booth part didn't. It is on my table where it will stay for now.

This is what it started out looking like...a Goodwill find for $3.00 and quite heavy I might add. Very nicely made.

Don't you agree that it looks so much better??

Would have loved to displayed real flowers, but haven't

had a chance to pick any up.

I also purchased this huge mirror at the Goodwill.

It was a shiny gold (forgot to get before pix)

Love it white and now it IS in my booth.

{sorry the reflection in the mirror isn't prettier. should have checked that out first} I found these beautiful 5 x 7 notecards and added them to some frames. They are in my Etsy store with more styles to come.

Do you like white paint as much as I do? MY BF tells me that in several years she will be off shopping in Italy and I will be stripping all my items that I painted white! Too funny!
