I've been kinda snappy today!

...no, not that kind of snappy...snappy with my camera! lol

{sorry for the yellowish glow. lighting is terrible here today and I had to
have the overhead light on}
I will confess that I am still in my pj's today and it is after 11am here. I RARELY do this,
but today I have no obligations and I am just being lazy with not a care in the world. :)

I purchased this basket at TJ Maxx to use at a show that never happened,  so I use it around my home.
This setting on my camera is color accent or color swap ...I don't remember which. ha!

This is the regular setting on the camera so you can see that the note cards are
really this color instead of white. Cameras sure have come a long way from what
they used to be. I have had mine for a few years now and still haven't figured
 it all out.

This is a gray linen blouse that I fell in love with at TJ Maxx and purchased it over a year
ago. Then I went and lost weight and it does not fit me! I didn't even have a chance to
wear it once.  :(

I purchased this vintage pink dress at an antique store years ago. It is so sweet with
an underskirt of tulle.

I have had my fun for the day so I better get cracking and actually do something.
Any suggestions?? ha!! Happy Saturday!!

Peonies ~

"As for me and my house,
we will serve the Lord".
Joshua 24:25b

Christ is the head of this house
The unseen guest in every room.

These words are at the bottom of this beautiful photograph of peonies.
There is a story that goes along with this picture that hangs in my house. Seven years ago someone gave us $100 for our 25th wedding anniversary and we decided that we wanted to buy something special to remember the day.
We went shopping in the city and and I fell in love with this large picture that we found at a Christian bookstore so we purchased it.
Originally it had a silver frame ...very appropriate because it was for our

SILVER Anniversary~

I don't think we had it more than two weeks and I noticed that the mat was warping very bad inside the frame underneath the glass. So we returned it and another one was ordered to replace it. It took a good month or two to get a replacement in and when we picked it up I glanced at it {inside the wrapping and box} and it looked fine so we came home with it.

{mind you this bookstore is more than an hour away from home}

When we got home and unwrapped it all I was horrified to find that the frame was DARK GOLD and did not go well at all with the picture.
I was so bummed. Tried to get it fixed again, but they couldn't guarantee me the silver frame so I kept it as it was , but was never really happy with it. Within the last year or I thought ah ha...I shall paint the frame ivory to match the ivory in the picture. Love it so much better this way.
I know it isn't silver and looking at it now I think "silver"?? But you really had to see it. It did go perfect with it , but I am very happy now.
Blessings~

A Nice Day Away ~

I needed to get away today from all the hum drum of every day life and it was just what the doctor ordered. I didn't spend a lot of money, but I did come home with some delightful finds.

I went to a huge greenhouse, Hobby Lobby, Big Lots and was trying to decide whether to hit the Goodwill store or head home. Am I ever glad I decided to go! I found this wonderful picture and fell in love with it.

The Goodwill store that I went to has a large area where they put everything on shelves and they don't price anything. It is called, "AS IS". You take the items that you want up to the counter and they give you a price. This picture cost me a whopping 25 cents! Can you believe it? The glass in it is convex and I adore it! I am sure some will look at it and think that it is a piece of junk but I see wonderful character in the chippy paint, a beautiful vintage patina, and a romantic victorian couple. What do you see?

I did have a wonderful time all by myself . Sometimes we just need to get away for a bit to renew our spirit ...I know I did and I am all the better for it. Blessings~

Gorgeous Antique Christmas Gift ~

Isn't this antique picture just gorgeous????? I absolutely love it! When we were at my daughters for Thanksgiving she gave this to me as an early Christmas gift. She is just like her father and can't wait for the actual holiday! LOL I was thrilled to receive it...she knows me so well. My granddaughter was trying to get me to guess what it was and she said, "it starts with a P...i....to which I said "PICKLE"???? She told me I was silly...we have so much fun together and we had a wonderful time for four days. We shopped till we dropped literally. We didn't spend much money, but we sure had fun looking and just being together.

One day we went to Walmart to get their $2 movies (that is all I purchased ) and they had quite a spread ! Grilled steak slices, little smokies, polish sausage, lettuce salad, potato salad, pomegrante and an unbelieveable amount of dessert samples! We could have had our lunch right there! I tried the potato salad and a couple dessert tarts and it was all yummy! Fun times and memories to last a lifetime. Blessings!

Study in White

I thought I would share some pictures of "white" around my home...You can never have too many candles...
I purchased two of these vintage blinds for a total of $6.00 at an antique store and I love them...
An old picture frame that I painted white and added a pink rose picture...
LOVE this old arched window! I love to decorate with old shabby windows as they add so much character...
Baskets on the top of my refrigerator...
Vintage style mirror hanging above my bed... I made the vintage millinery garland and it was so easy. Have a wonderful day!

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall...

Don't you just love old mirrors? I do! This mirror wall is in my living room and I really like how it turned out. ( although it is always a possible work in progress if I find another mirror that I just can't pass up) Most are antique frames and one is a newer mirror that I found at the Goodwill for $3.oo. (It is the large ornate one on the very left side of the second picture) I even added a few pieces of other wall decor and I think they fit nicely . The very long mirror with the wreath hanging on it is heavy... I mean REALLY heavy! I about had to drive a spike in the wall to hold the weight and it hangs by a large chain that was on the back of it when I found it. For $5.00 I couldn't pass it up! (The sepia toned picture is of my precious granddaughter Allysha)
