Come along with me to *The Bathing Boutique*

...a little slice of heaven inside Flint Farmers Market.

When we were visiting our daughter last weekend we went
to the Farmers Market again and I fell in love with this
amazing *bathing boutique*. I sure wish this was
closer to where I live because I would be a regular
customer!

I absolutely love this idea for display.
Old sewing machine drawers with a large drawer on top
and can you say white?? :)

I think these are just gorgeous! Wouldn't you love to
take a bath with one of these cupcake soaps?

Loving the tray they are setting on as well!

I thought her whole booth was done just perfect and oh so pretty! Makes me want to to take a bath right now!

I purchased a couple of these gorgeous lavender
sachets. I would have spent more, but we had
just come from Peacock Park where I had spent
my wad for the day! lol.

They are sooooo pretty. I would like to make
something similar, but first I have to drag out
the sewing machine.

{I will show them better in another post}

Lovely rose sachets

sachets in all shapes and sizes

I thought her vintage suitcase display was a great idea.

Angel face soap

After my first time around I came back for a second
look and talked to the owner more. I feel so bad that
I don't remember her name, but it kinda rhymed with
Sandi...Cindy? Mindy? Oh dear. I really enjoyed talking
to her. Definitely a kindred spirit!

Bath salts in beautiful display containers as well.
I just wanted to pull up a chair and sit here all day long!

Can I just say that I love to support people who make
lovely handmade items because I know the work involved
and then you hope that someone will love your things
as much as you do. Well I do love her items and can't
wait to go back!

If the owner is reading this please contact me with your
name...I feel like a dufus that I forgot.
Happy bathing!!!

Cherries for WW?

After I purchased these beautiful cherries at the
farmers market on Saturday I knew I had to use
them in some photos. I had fun playing with them...
{and eating a few in the process. lol.}

Don't you love this little metal container? I found it at TJ Maxx over the weekend for 3.99.
I chose the number *5* from a selection of many
for hubby and I and our three children.

Playing with the aperture feature on my camera
is always fun...

Couldn't you just pluck these cherries right out of the
photo and eat them? They are so delicious!

I remembered a stack of unused flour sack towels that I had in my drawer so out they came for the photo shoot.

I hope you enjoyed my White Wednesday post today
{with a little red thrown in}.

I want to thank Kathleen over at Faded Charm
for hosting WW for us bloggers for 50 weeks !
Here's to another 50 more! be blessed ~

Mini vacation and farmers market

A vacation is what you take when you can
no longer take what you've been taking.
-Earl Wilson

Yep... we needed to take that vacation so
Friday evening we took the drive up
to visit our daughter's family
and spent the weekend with them.

Saturday we went to a huge
farmer's market and had a wonderful
time. This is DD and GD.
Notice they are the same height and
GD is only 11 years old!

{I got carried away taking pictures so please
bear with me. lol.}

Thought this sign was just too cute!

All colors and varieties of flowers

roof of the market

loved this chair...it was not for sale

gorgeous grapes and peppers

beautiful apples

inside the outdoor market looking up

there were tons of gorgeous hanging baskets!

more pretty flowers

another neat chair although I
would paint it white if it were mine.

how neat would this photo be with the
cardboard egg containers instead of
styrofoam!

had to photograph these old scales

I did not capture the true beauty of this flower
arrangement. I purchased a planter with
flowers from this vendor, but not this one.

The cherries were delicious!!

My granddaughter Allysha was really intriqued
by this monk.

Aren't these radishes spectucular!!
Basil and other herbs by the dozen

Just beautiful produce. These people know how
to display to get the maximum effect too!

more beautiful flowers

Many people were purchasing this beautiful plant.

I have more pictures, but did not want to bore
you to death so I stopped here....maybe more to
come next post.

Blessings~

Flint Institute of Art

Oh my goodness...when we were at my daughters over the weekend we went to the Flint Institute of Art and saw the most amazing paintings. The Masterpieces of European Painting are on display until March and as I said in a previous post I was in awe. I am sure a lot of you have seen paintings like these, but being from the back roads of Michigan....I was thrilled to be able to go.

The picture that I have included on the members magazine was one of the HUGE European paintings. I stand about 5 foot 4 inches and it was much taller than I am. I was amazed at the sheer size of several of the pieces and the detail as well. They could sure paint back then!

"Comprised of fifty-six paintings, Materpieces of European Painting from the Museo de Arte de Ponce provides audiences with an unforgettable experience of timeless works of art that traverse the stylistic development of the European painting tradition, from the early 14th century to the late 19th century. The collection includes outstanding examples of Italian Renaissance paintings on panel, Baroque, Rococo, Neo-Classical, Academic, and the Pre-Raphaelites."

(All these pictures with the red background on this post were not from the European Collection , but from a permanent collection at the institute)
