Simple Handmade Valentine Cards ~

I made a few simple Valentine cards yesterday, embellished them with swarovski crystals and listed them on my Etsy site so be sure and come on over and take a look. I love the scrolly stamps that I used. I can tell that I need a better camera to take nice close up pictures. I think cards are so hard to photograph anyways and with a simple point and shoot camera it doesn't capture the true beauty of many items. Until later ~

Winter in Michigan ~

Yep...definitely winter in Michigan. We have seen a lot of snow and subzero temperatures already and winter has barely started! Yikes! I just want to be somewhere warm. My feathered friends house has a snowy roof, the potting shed is so ready for spring, the bushes underneath my picture window are laden down with the white stuff and my back door...well let's just say that one day I couldn't even get it open because there was so much snow and ice. I had to go out the front door and shovel snow away and get the ice off so we could open the back door. Usually I don't mind winter so much, but if this is a sign of things to come in the years ahead I can hear the sunny south calling. Although I would never move...I can hear it......enjoy and have a wonderful day! Blessings! Sandi

Family Heirloom Valentines ~

I have always been the *SAVER* in the family and I love that I have valentines that were my grandmothers, my mothers and mine. I just had to share a few pictures with you. The valentines in the first picture are valentines that my mother made when she was very young for my grandmother. My mother will be 71 years old in February so these are oldies! The next few are valentines that were given to my mother in grade school . The little elephant is moveable and just adorable ~

Okay...not my finest moment in arts and crafts , but this is a turtle valentine that I made my mother when I was very young ~

Embellishment Center - Part 2

I wanted to hop in here quick and show you my new embellishment center with all my goodies on it. The last picture I showed was on the box right after I purchased it. I wish I had better lighting to show how pretty it really is. The pink glass jars are a beautiful shade of light pink, not the color it shows. I purchased them new at a Goodwill store and they were originally *WISH JARS* from Hallmark. I don't have anything in them yet, but love them as is for now. If you notice the one shelf is bowed down a bit, but I decided I am not going to schlep this thing all the way back (2 hour drive) to get a perfect one. It fits in with my room just great! Last of Christmas ~

I finally took all the ornaments off of my Christmas tree yesterday to put them away for another year and I loved the way they looked so I snapped a few pictures. I can't believe I had my tree up this long, but it was so pretty and out of the way so I wasn't really in a hurry to take it down. Enjoy the last of my Christmas decor...until Christmas 2009.
