Chippy WHITE Project Finally Completed!

You know those projects that start out as one thing and then along the way they
morph into something else? Yep, that is how this project came about.

Do you remember this starting out as a bench/ potting bench. {If not I have added pics
at the bottom of this post}

It was a potting bench that hubby and I created this past summer while he was laid off and
now it is a vanity on our back porch/ laundry/mud room. The vanity we had out here was

NASTY!

I didn't realize how nasty it was until we took it out. ugh. NO, I didn't take before pics.
I didn't even think about it. ha!

I was laying in bed one night with my mind racing a million miles an hour {couldn't sleep
AGAIN} Does that ever happen to you?

Well, I was thinking about the brand new porcelain sink that I had picked up at the Route 127
garage sales in August for $15 and inspiration hit! Why not make the potting bench into
a vanity. We can always make another bench right??!! yep...it was on.

So, I timidly boldly broached the subject to my hubby.

He was INSTANTLY on board!! Can you believe it??  He is always indulging my whims,
but I know he secretly thinks knows I am crazy!!

So we got started and we both
LOVE
how it turned out!

I had fun filling the little pockets/shelves with lotions , Christmas decor etc. Think of the
decorating possibilities. Unlimited!

I thought my little white twig tree was perfect for this spot.

This mirror is old with some patina and a little cloudy, but I love it.

Do you see the Merry Christmas HUGE burlap piece?

It is a huge lavender sachet that I won a few years ago. In fact I won two of them along
with a burlap bag. These exact pieces were featured in a magazine and I forgot
what magazine! HA! Romantic Homes or Country Living or something. There
was a giveaway on a blog and I won. They still smell wonderful!

We picked out the perfect faucet for the sink. Whoever sees this almost always says,

"Does the sink really work"...ha! YES, it does!

I used an old feed-sack to hang in front of the shelves at the bottom.
{After all I had to hide the plumbing. :) }

This is another corner of my porch where the vanity is.

I would show you all of it, but there is a bag of cat food, a can of kerosene and other
"lovlies" sitting around that doesn't really make for pretty pics.
 Keeping it real here folks.

The long tin coat hanger is made from old tin ceiling panels from a store that I remember
going to as a child. Loudens was the name and it was in Montpelier , Ohio. Loved that store!

Okay, here is how the vanity started out. I picked this up at a garage sale this past summer for $2.00!
It was a yucky bluish gray color and had a lot of grease on the top as it was used for a work bench.
I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned and got it painted white.

Then it morphed into this potting bench above and now into my vanity.

Somehow I see a new potting bench in the works next summer. SMILE.
I will have to hit those garage sales again and see what I can find to start our project!

Yep...loving my new/old vanity!

Some of these photos are out of order , but oh well.

My dear friends... always remember that

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL...

no matter what is happening in our lives
that is one thing we can be sure of...Life is a beautiful thing!

Blessings~

My home is dressed for winter

Do you *dress your home* for winter? As in, replacing summer curtains with winter ones
and changing out tablecloths? I do. I really only change my bedroom curtains, but I adore
this vintage chenille bedspread for winter used as a tablecloth.  I just love the rose pattern.

Isn't it just gorgeous?  I also have a light blue bedspread like this one. They are keepers for sure!

I stuck this holly on today because I thought it needed a pop of color , but it could change
at any given moment. *smile*

This is as far as I have gotten with my winter decor, but I say , BRING ON WINTER!

{without the tons of snow}

I am still running my sale in the previous post and I am also having an Etsy sale at 20%
off so please pop on over and visit.

We were kinda thrown for a loop last week...hubby's factory is basically shut down. No
warning or anything so it is back to the unemployment line for us. ugh. What a time of
year to have that happen, but God is good! He went to the factory yesterday to pick up
his toolbox and to get his pay stub and he was told they are holding the checks. WHAT??
Well, thankfully his was deposited today into our bank account so we thank God for that!

Happy weekend dear blogging friends and have fun dressing your home for winter!!

Peace, Love, Joy and Hope

I did a little after Christmas shopping one day last week and found these adorable white
frosted pine and bell garlands so I purchased the last two @ 50% off.

I hung them on my chippy white shutters and took a few pictures.
I do  love taking pictures. :)

Don't you just love the simplicity ? I do.

I was thinking that these would make neat postcards or notecards.
What do you think?  I may check into that.

Praying that whatever is going on in your life right now, that you are at peace and
have love and joy in your heart. If by chance you are going through hard times,
please don't give up...there is always hope.

Cinderella's carriage ~

Look what I found tucked away and haven't had on the
tree for years. An adorable little Cinderella carriage
ornament.

A tiny sweet carriage that is definitely fit for a princess.

She spins and she sways To whatever song plays Without a care in the world And I'm sitting here wearing The weight of the world on my shoulders It's been a long day And there's still work to do She's pulling at me Saying "Dad, I need you There's a ball at the castle And I've been invited And I need to practice my dancing Oh, please, Daddy, please?" So I will dance with Cinderella While she is here in my arms' Cause I know something the prince never knew Oh, I will dance with Cinderella I don't want to miss even one song' Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight And she'll be gone... She says he's a nice guy and I'd be impressed She wants to know if I approve of the dress She says, "Dad, the prom is just one week away And I need to practice my dancing. Oh, please, Daddy, please?" So I will dance with Cinderella While she is here in my arms' Cause I know something the prince never knew Oh, I will dance with Cinderella I don't want to miss even one song 'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight And she'll be gone. She will be gone. Well, she came home today with a ring on her hand Just glowing and telling us all they had planned She says, "Dad, the wedding's still six months away But I need to practice my dancing Oh, please, Daddy, please?" So I will dance with Cinderella While she is here in my arms 'Cause I know something the prince never knew Oh, I will dance with Cinderella I don't want to miss even one song' Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight And she'll be gone.

Love this song! Happy Sunday! Blessings~

Snippets of Christmas Decor

I thought I would share a few pictures of my Christmas decor with you. I have so much fun decorating and as you can see I have accumulated lots of stuff over the years. I don't need to buy one thing for many years! I rearrange stuff in my house all the time from room to room even as most things will fit anywhere in my house. I wish they were more close up so you could see all the little details. I have had the long chippy white wooden shutter over my kitchen window for a long time. I saw the idea in a store and loved it. Although I did add curtains to mine as well. Not a great picture looking out that window as we have renters that come and go all the time that live next to us. The ones that are here now hauled in this white barn! I do hope you enjoy and have a blessed day!
