Spring has sprung round the house

I have been told to get on the ball and post something...anything...so here we are.
I was wandering around the house today and thought I would take some photos of
my vintage shutter in my bedroom. 

I added this glittter slipper ornament  and lace a week or so ago...

...and today I added this flower garland that I made a few years ago...

...yep , I tend to hold onto things forever. Maybe it is time to make a new one?

Sorry if you are a bit overwhelmed with all the pics...

I have been overwhelmed for days, but I think there is a light
at the end of the tunnel...it is barely flickering , but I can see it!! 

...and I am trusting God to work all things out. So thankful that I have Him to lean on
in troubled times. God is good...all the time! 

Window Dilemma...

I am in need of a little advice so I am throwing it out there in hopes that someone will come to
my rescue.  This is my kitchen window. My only kitchen window. No , it is not above
the sink where I would like it, but nevertheless it is a window amd I am very thankful for it.

I have had this vintage shutter up along with these curtains for several years because I love
the look so much...however...that being said it is time for a change. I still LOVE the shutter
there, but think I want different curtains. I would love NO CURTAINS at all, but I really don't
have a choice because the afternoon sun really shines in this room.

Question: Leave the shutter, curtains...take it all down? Sill length curtains,
floor length, what kind of fabric?? HELP please!! I have even considered
leaving the shutter up , but adding brackets so it is slanted down like an
awning and adding some chippy , shappy posts or half posts
to the sides.

The ideal solution is in a couple years to tear the whole kitchen apart, put in a new
window and on and on, but I just don't know if I have the umph for that at my age.
We do all of our projects ourselves and I am just getting tired. :)


So glad my herbs were on their best behavior the day I took these photos. Sometimes
they don't get the attention that they deserve and they get kinda droopy looking. :)

I love Paris!

Okay...no I have never been to Paris, but I know in my heart that I would love it
and I do love it sight unseen!

I haven't had much time {or energy} lately to redo any decor , but I did get the frame
above hung up. I added two vintage french postcards and a new Paris matted photo
along with my vintage french clips and I love how it turned out.

I did a treatment on my fake brick wall and also love how it turned out. This wall started out red and
 black brick years ago...you know those sheets of wallboard that you can purchase? Yep this is
one of them.  I painted it cream several years ago and had stenciled ivy on it, but was sick and tired
of the ivy so a couple weeks ago I redid the paint job.

I just kind of made it up as I went along. I did not want to purchase any more paint because we
have partial unused paint cans up the wazoo!! Anyhow...I even used two different sheens.
I think one was eggshell and the other satin. One was a more white and the other a cream. 

First I took a sponge and dabbed on the cream and it was too cream...same with the white
so I just dabbled them together and swirled and twirled and blended and love the result!!
I think it looks like it now has depth which was sadly lacking before. I think I would like
this whole wall done in that , but it isn't going to happen. lol.

I also wanted to show you a FABULOUS chippy, shabby gray and white stand that I
picked up a few weeks ago while visiting my daughter. I just love the PATINA on this!!

I will use it for staging photos etc. so it just had to come home with me.

Peace, Love, Joy and Hope

I did a little after Christmas shopping one day last week and found these adorable white
frosted pine and bell garlands so I purchased the last two @ 50% off.

I hung them on my chippy white shutters and took a few pictures.
I do  love taking pictures. :)

Don't you just love the simplicity ? I do.

I was thinking that these would make neat postcards or notecards.
What do you think?  I may check into that.
