I started reasoning with myself..."okay Sandi if this gets even worse CAN you get yourself to the hospital?" I decided no way so at about 10 pm I decided to get in the car and drive to the hospital about 30 minutes away. Thank God I made it there okay. I know probably not the smartest thing to do , but my parents, brother and friend all live at least 20 if not 30 minutes away so it made no sense to me to call them and add additional time on to me getting to the ER.
I texted my son when I arrived at the hospital and they headed home. They all know that if I am at the hospital something is definitely wrong, because I have a high tolerance for pain.
I got out of my car and walked up to the hospital and then turned back around toward my car and thought, "Okay is this really bad enough to go in"...hee hee. I opted to go in and I am very thankful I did. Long story short, after x-rays the doctor said my gall bladder was fine. After the cat scan he told me I had appendicitis. I said WHAT?? I was floored. Never dreamed it was that. So they took that pesky little appendix out and life will never be the same without it. *SMILE* Thankfully hubby got to the hospital before they did the surgery. I am also very thankful that he was not far, far away.
I am doing pretty good and just taking it one day at a time...God is good!!
{Yes I got chastised for not calling someone to get me to the hospital...my brother wondered sarcastically if my phone quit working...}
First photo I am using an antique horse muzzle for a cloche of sorts. It was tagged as such at an antique store last year so I assume that is what it is. I immediately thought CLOCHE when I saw it and it was only $4 so why not? :) |

Hi Sandi...so happy you are feeling better! Take it easy and enjoy some R&R&Blog Surfing!
So glad to hear you are getting a bit better. Love your "cloche". I'd be taking the bus. So tell your brother not to worry, he could be mine.
My goodness girl!!!! You are AMAZING!!! I'm just so glad you made it there safely and that they found out what was wrong so fast....Please take good care of yourself and I wish you fast healing sweet friend!!! hugs and love, Dawn
Glad to hear that your tummy's on the mend, Sandi! That must have been kinda scary to be there all by yourself and have to make that type of decision. Let yourself be pampered by your "men"! lol! You have a great excuse! :)

You crazy goose! Those nasty little under utilized body parts can cause a world of trouble, but I'm pretty sure I would of drove myself too in that situation. Heal up, don't lift anything heavier than a horse muzzle.

So thankful to hear you are on the mend! That must have been so scary for you~and on a holiday weekend! It reminds me of a Halloween way back when our girls were little~I didn't feel good while I had the girls out...but of course I wasn't going to spoil their fun...lo and behold later that night we were on our way to the hospital~and now one more thing I don't have to worry about! Feel better soon!! xoxoxo Maryann
Oh, bless you Sandi, that just sounded so miserable. Feeling sick and having to drive and then the tests... isn't it good to know God has His hands on us.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Blessings

Wow Sandi...just read this! I had the same thing 2 years ago!! It ws my Happy New Year gift on January 4th! I was pretty sure it was my appendix, even though my primary Dr. said it was too high for that. And I was right. My hubby was in north Florida and got to the hospital 5 minutes before they took me into the OR. So glad we both were protected til we got there!! God is sooo good!!
It's not common for women our age to have this issue. Interesting, huh? And I have never had any digestive issues til I had this.
Glad you're doing well!
Hugs,
Becky
