I woke up today to a sink full of beautiful peonies!!
Hubby kept trying to lure me out of bed this morning by saying that I better pick my peonies before it rained and I just kept laying in bed. When I finally decided to get up and plodded to the kitchen my eyes lit up when I saw these beauties!! He had gone to our local town {3 miles away} and picked these on the way home. {they were in a ditch of all places!} How does that happen! Not by a house, but just growing in the ditch. We saw them last night, but didn't stop. I whined around a bit when we got home for him to go and pick me some, but I told him he didn't have to. I was tired and so was he! HA!
I had forgotten all about them!! SO... I was thrilled when I saw these this morning. {along with a maple frosted cinnamon roll with nuts on top}
{He picked the ones in the large white vase and the others are from our bushes here} |

how lovely.
One of my favorite flowers! So pretty! I have 4 peony bushes. 2 newer ones that didn't have many blooms last year. Very pretty photos of them.
warmly,
deb
I think you must be married to a very special guy Sandi!!!! That is so sweet that he would go back and bring those beauties home to you.
Your porch is lovely!
I so agree about everyone should plant a peony bush :)))))
hugs from here...
They are stunning! In a ditch?? - that is incredible!!

What a wonderful surprise to wake up to! Love your arrangements and photos!
Oh, Sandi, what a complete sweetheart he is!!! And the peonies are gorgeous! I'll have to start taking a closer look at ditches. :)
Have a beautiful one,
Lin
What a gorgeous way to start the day! Peonies don't grow here at all so I am thrilled to find them in the grocery. A lot less romantic than yours! Haha! Your photos are so lovely. Love your porch vignettes!
SO beautiful and SO sweet of him to do that! I have two bushes that are the white ones -- I really would like to get these pinks though. Beautiful pics!
What a sweet hubby! And what a glorious way to wake up, including the cinnamon roll. :)
Yes, peonies are a must. I think mine still need time to mature - I've only got 6 blossoms between 3 bushes! Sigh...
Lucky YOU!!! I miss my Ohio peony busy soooooooooo much. Those are such magical flowers, I think! Enjoy yours.
