Reminiscing...our handmade doll house from a Christmas long ago~

Several years ago I drove out to my parents house while they were away and took several
snapshots of the dollhouse that my parents made for my sister and I one Christmas. I'm guessing
it was made in the 60's. We adored that dollhouse and as I got older I could really appreciate the love
and care that went into making it. It was so special to us!

My mom used a large cardboard box and her attention to detail was amazing! Dad made the wood
items, but she created all the rest of it.

It has seen better days, but I will always love it.  After all it is decades old, but it still stands.  My
daughter played with it when she was small along with several nieces of mine and I am pretty sure
that my granddaughters may have played with it as well. I will have to check that out.

I just love this little wooden candle-holder that my daddy made!

Mom even added a picture above the fireplace that I am guessing was from a
Christmas card. She didn't leave out any details for sure.

Girls just HAVE to have a mirror. (smile) Poor little chest of drawers is showing it's age, but
that's ok. I am too! ha!

My mom  used a round oatmeal container for the chair and even added a ruffle.

The curtains with rick rack...can you say PRECIOUS?

My dads attention to detail on these beds was a sign of the wonderful cabinet maker he would
become in the years that followed.

A crocheted rug...or knitted? I'm not sure, but mom sure made it special!

Mom added wallpaper along with "wood" floors and "bricks" on the fireplace with a black marker.

Not just any old pillow, but a lace edged pillow for her girls.

I am so very thankful for my parents and their love for us all through our lives!! Dad is almost 87
and mom is almost 82 and I am so thankful that they are still with us. They were the most loving
parents a child could have and instilled in us right from wrong and brought us up to
know and love Jesus. What a legacy!!

Merry Christmas to each one of you!!
Blessings~

Handmade Wrapping Paper

Have you done any creating this week? I pulled out a roll of white paper that I found a few years ago at a thrift store. I have used part of it for different things, but had quite a bit left. It measured 30 inches wide which is a perfect size for wrapping paper. {most folded sheets are approx. 20 x 30) I cut the length at 20 inches and started making my own wrapping paper.

Isn't it pretty?

I pulled out several of my rubber stamps and just stamped away. I stamped here and I stamped there and in no time at all I had several sheets of pretty paper...I call it Jeanne d' Arc style paper, but I just might be throwing that name around too loosely. :) No two sheets are alike so I guess that makes them unique? lol
I rolled each one up and tied them with twine until I actually use them.

Some are designed for Christmas and others in the french style to use anytime.

Joyeux Noel

I love script stamps and used them a lot on this project.

This is a project that anyone can do and you cannot mess it up so get out your stamps and make some paper.  It is also a good way to take out your frustration when you bang those rubber stamps...just sayin'...lol.

I will be linking up with Kathleen over at Faded Charm again this week for White Wednesday.

My 100 mph birthday celebration!

Yesterday was another milestone for me.
I turned 52 years old.
I can't believe it...where have the years gone? I have been looking for them for a long time and
just can't seem to find them. lol.

My bff showered me with beautiful gifts again and
we had the best time together for lunch and laughter.
We even rode in her car at 100 mph!

{ I am telling everyone that , but something was wrong
with her speedometer. May have been set to kph instead
of mph. It really felt like we were going 50 instead , but
doesn't 100 sound much more exciting? ha!}

My bff told me awhile ago that she had been creating my
gifts and wow did she ever!! She made me two gorgeous
pillows and this is the first one.

{Made from two H&M shirts}

I was blown away when I opened the package. She
used up every little bit of fabric and utilized all the
buttons etc. The part at the bottom is a pocket so
I can add some goodies to it.

Love all the details! Buttons, plackets, cuffs etc.
She used it all!

This is the back of the pillow so depending on my mood {foofy or not} I can switch it up and one side is just as gorgeous as the other!

Here is the second pillow made from a sweater that had ruffles on it. I believe it is wool and oh so soft.

She used part of the ruffle to make the flower. I love it!

She is so so talented. She said she just started cutting
and these are what she came up with. She constantly amazes me with her beautiful creations!
Thank you so much my forever friend!!

I did tell her these pillows will be put UP when kids come
to stay. These pillows are not for laying heads on or
drooling on! {ha ha}

This is a very quick post as I DO have kids coming in
tonight and I need to get busy cleaning, but wanted
to show you some of my birthday goodies.

I did have a wonderful day...spend lunch and a few
hours with my bff and then when hubby got home
we went out to eat again and I shopped at Kohls too.
Got a black sweater {with ruffles of course}, some
of my favorite perfume , a rose pin and a scarf. All of it was on sale or clearance and then I had a
coupon to get an additional 30% off. Love a good sale... Blessings~

Booth finished...for now!

Friday was spent moving all my items in my booth at the
antique mall to a larger booth and then setting
everything back up.

Luckily hubby had taken a vacation day off work to
help out or I would still be there!

I need to learn consistency.
I made these tags and love them,
but I made other designs also that are totally
different. I need to find one type of tag and
stick with it don't ya think?

I put a large decal on this plate. It can only
be used for display and not actually put in water,
but I think it turned out very pretty.

Standing in another booth this is what you see.

I wanted to hang old lace tablecloths up, but
I only had one and didn't know exactly what to do
so I need to find more of them for backdrops instead
of just the pegboard.

I can see now that it definitely needs some tweaking,
but I was so tired and just wanted to be done.

For those of you who don't know , I have
fibromyalgia and it just wears me out to
spend hours doing something like this,
but in the end it is worth it.

I think I need some more doilies or fabric on these
shelves to soften the look more.

See the cloth over to the right hand side of the picture
above the pitcher? There is a wide green support beam in the
middle of my booth so I had to camoflauge it with
something. I hung this linen tablecloth
over it and stapled it fast. I hope it stays up. lol
(I got it brand new at the Goodwill
originally from Target...shh)
all kinds of goodies...

Tags that I made.
I love to make tags... sometimes
somedays...not so much. lol
I have always loved this huge pitcher and basin , but
it is time for someone else to enjoy it as much as I have.

I made several more spoon ornaments for Mother's Day.

I would have loved to taken more time to get some more close up and detailed pictures , but I just wanted to go home. Hope you enjoyed your tour.

blessings~
