Old wallpaper, roses and HIGH SPEED!!

Am I ever amazed today or what?? HIGH SPEED finally came to Buckeye Road yesterday! Where it took me literally an hour or longer to upload THREE photos to  my blog before, they are here in a flash now. I LOVE IT!! I still have no idea how to start a new paragraph on this MAC, but hey we will work with what we have for now. I see a new computer in the very near future. ha! Don't know how to watermark my photos on here either so hopefully no one will swipe them for their own.

I have been removing old wallpaper in the kitchen this week and just happened to set a pitcher of my beautiful old fashioned roses on the shelf. I loved the old and torn paper for a background. Thinking I should have left it this way and not re-papered just for photo ops. :)

Roses, old wallpaper and a camera...it doesn't get much better than that does it? *smile*

I just LOVE these roses! The bush was here when we moved onto the property over 32 years ago and since then I have dug up starts and planted them here and there around the property and they grow just fine! I need to start some more this year.

Roses always look nice in frenchy style buckets along side a hat from the Goodwill. :)

This is the bush that started it all.

The fragrance of these roses is just heavenly. They sure don't make them like they used to anymore. Today I am so very thankful for my divinely fragrant roses and my high speed!!! :) What are you thankful for?

Roses and peonies

Before we get to the roses and peonies I have a
question. Is it time to change my blog header? I still love it, but I also have noticed that so many
other people change theirs up quite often and I
don't want to end up having a boring blog that no one
wants to visit...so is it time for a change?? Please let me know what you think. :)

{with that being said I just purchased calling cards

that has my current blog header on them}

This is my one and only peony bloom of the whole season
so I had to get some mileage out of her.

The pictures are kinda out of order as this one
was taken when she was "on her way out" and
her petals were starting to droop.

and peony in a vignette

Also, my beautiful old fashioned roses in
different settings. How do you like the contrast
of the china bowl and rust?

In a small pitcher close up

Or in a wooden box out on the deck

If you could smell this fragrance you would
want to bottle it and keep it forever.
Yes, they smell that good!

I wanted to take a break today from all the
french pretties and show you some of my flowers
so I hope you enjoyed them.

Blessings~

Old fashioned roses

Don't you just love the old fashioned roses? The ones that still have an amazing fragrance?
The ones that have not had the smell bred out
of them?

The rose bush I picked these from has been on our
property for years...maybe even centuries. I have
had the good fortune of replanting starts so I now
have three of the bushes. I want to dig up and replant
more this year so they can line my yard in front of
the house.
All I do is get a shovel, dig up a start, make a
hole and plant it. No extra fussing around
with them at all. I am blessed.

Happy weekend~
