Grey Dey Thursdey

I thought I would pop in and do a quick post.

I have been wanting to change the lampshade on my night stand, but couldn't
spend much money so what was my solution?

A ruffled, cotton Hollister skirt from the Goodwill for 2.50.

I assured the lady who was at the checkout that I was NOT going to wear it.

{it was awful short for these legs!}

She told me that she doesn't judge...haha!

It was too big around the waist so I had to do some folding to make it fit the shade, but
I managed to get it done. I am thinking now that is just may be "too foofy" and full, but
I do love the color. I may tweak it , but for now it is what it is.

Linking up with Petite Michelle Louise and Grey Dey.

White Wednesday...Doily overload

Quote for the day:
When life gives you lemons,
throw them back and demand chocolate!

now that I have your attention...lol...

I love these french embellished crochet doilies.

{I won them over at Rhonda's blog...she makes
the most amazing things!}

I have been up to my ears in paper doilies for the
past couple days!
I purchased them at a garage sale and have been
tea staining part of them. There is no longer a kitchen table for us to eat at
because it is filled with doilies!!

I have been using some of them for my packages
of inspirational sayings that are headed up to my
booth soon...that is the plan anyways.

2 different sizes...I found several packages at
a garage sale and I only bought three.
I should have purchased all of them!

{they came in a pack of 240 and were 25 cents and 50 cents a pkg}

This cute little bird candleholder was hanging out at the same garage sale so I had to bring him home with me. I see potential in this short , short skirt, but I won't be wearing it. lol. I picked it up at the Goodwill because of the raggy look of the pockets and ruffles. {it is supposed to look this way} I will use it in something that I create...someday.

Love this tattered look ruffle on the bottom of the skirt!

This beautiful set marked Germany was at the Goodwill for 55 cents for each piece.

Somedays they amaze me. There are days when I think things are way overpriced and then some days things are underpriced! {Love the underpriced days better!! }

Please excuse some of my photos today. The lighting was not good at all so there are dark areas in some of the photographs.

Happy WW!! Visit Kathleen over at Faded Charm for more WW posts.

Blessings~

Renewed Chippy White Chair

Per my previous post I put one of the skirts that I found at the Goodwill on a chair and I love the look. I just took a chair pad and inserted it inside the skirt and tucked it under and wa....la......neat look. I love the color also! Enjoy! (sorry the planter doesn't look too great...I have just been sticking old roses that have been laying around in it and they are not arranged pretty)

Recycled Skirts

I don't know about you , but I love to find wonderful fabrics when looking in unexpected places. These are pictures of two skirts that I purchased at a Goodwill store for $2.50 each because I absolutely love the fabric.

I thought the linen skirt that has the torn edge look to it and ruffles would make a gorgeous lampshade cover. I am not sure what I will do with the other one, but taken apart it would be a lovely drape for a shelf or put over a cushion on a chair and tucked in and let drape down. I encourage you to think outside the box and look for fabric in unexpected places and you will be surprised what you find.
