Simply Beautiful ~

Teach us delight,
in simple things ~ Rudyard Kipling

I paid another visit to the antique store that is going out of
business this fall. I could spend hours there browsing through all
the goodies that are still left. I suppose some people would not want to darken the door as it is a very old store and most items are dusty and such, but I adore it. When I want to look for paper items I head back to that store. I hope that I remember to take my camera next time and get a picture of Eva the owner. As I have shared with you before, she is in her 90's and is still going strong. She always wears purple, has jet black hair and wears lots of vintage jewelry. She told me that some people have even asked to buy the necklaces and brooches that she wears.
I couldn't pass up these gorgeous pieces at 25 cents each ~ This one is an advertisement card. Eva told me she must have missed that one, because she was not selling those cards for 25 cents. (It was in with the 25 cent postcards), but she also said she is glad it was me who got it for that price and not someone else. YAY~ Isn't this couple beautiful? I love the colors~

I sure wish I could wave a magic wand and take you all there. You would be amazed at everything in that store and I am sure you would not leave empty handed either. Eva's husband died three years ago and now she doesn't want to be tied down to the store. She wants to go fishing!!! She even cleans the fish herself. Some might think her a bit eccentric I suppose , but aren't we all...
I think she is a joy.

Have a beautiful day today. Blessings~

Beautiful Antique Images~

Friday I went to the antique store
in a quaint little town
that is going out of business.
Hoping to find more old ledger paper
but it was all gone.
However I did find a lot of gorgeous antique images~
Doesn't she look like she is dreaming of a long lost love~
Many beautiful black & white photos including this one...
Found in this wonderful antique music book. It is dated in the 1800's ~
Mandolin player ~
Love the writing and scrollwork on this sheet music.
More beautiful black and white antique photos...
Love this angel photograph~
More lovely sheet music.
The price was 10 for $1.00 and she had stacks of it~
How cute is this ...Little Fairy March~
Once again love these images~
I hope you enjoyed my glimpse into the past.
of these old prints.

The lady who owns the store is in her 90's and just can't run it anymore so we must gather the treasures while we can ~

Blessings~

Antique Lace & Deja Vu ~

I always have many leftover paint chip cards so I put a few to good use this week. I wrapped vintage lace around them and listed them in my Etsy store. I also printed out little victorian tags to accompany each one and I even added a vintage boutique pin to some. Love how cute they turned out~ Doesn't this lace and photo look *DREAMY*~
Deja Vu...I made the Vintage Linens sign below and sold it on ebay several months ago... ~
(photo by My Life at Pansy Cottage)

Fast forward to this past week when I was reading a post on the blog "My Life at Pansy Cottage" . I was so surprised when I saw the above photo that had *MY SIGN* in it. Sharon's friend had purchased it for her at a flea market in California. I had shipped some to California...but was amazed when I saw it on another blog...what a small world ~

I will be heading off to some garage sales here in a bit, so I hope I find some amazing treasures to share with all of you soon. Have a wonderful day~
Blessings~
