The little peanut...

...is so cute!  We were able to go up to our daughter's home this past weekend and visit our
new little grandson this past weekend and is he ever a cutie pie.

Grandma had to take lots of photos of course. Many didn't turn out  because the lighting
was terrible, but I did get a few good ones.

love his little hat

I think Grandpa is trying to tell him all about the hard knocks of life,
but Daniel is oblivious. That will come soon enough.

Beautiful baby boy...:)

A friend of my daughters took these two photos of his little feet...so sweet!

His little foot with his ankle monitor on. Wow, are things different than when I had my babies.
No one can even attempt to walk out the door with this little guy. :) I suppose that is a good
thing, but very sad that our society has come to this.

13 year old sister Allysha singing to her baby brother. He loves it! He was crying on the
way home from the hospital and he quieted right down as she sang *Twinkle, twinkle little
star* and other tunes to him. Allysha has a beautiful voice...I love to hear her sing.

The kids made two "birthday" cakes for the day Daniel came home. This one with the diaper and
another one with a pacifier on it. Too cute!

I am in full swing here in the boonies working on goodies for a holiday bazaar that I signed up
to be in. Somedays I wonder why I did that, but it is keeping me busy so that is good.

We took our car to the body shop last night and they will have it for at least a week to fix the
damage from a week or so ago when someone sideswiped us.  Will be so glad when all that
 is done and behind us.

Can I just say one thing? Please, let's all be kind to one another. No matter the color of our
skin, our religious beliefs or any other differences we may have...
 KINDNESS matters.
Blessings~

Window boxes, giveaway almost over and mom back in hospital!

I wanted to share my beautiful flowers in my window box with you and have barely had the time to
sit down lately let alone do a blog post.

It has been another hectic week as my mom was admitted back into the hospital on Wednesday. She
was admitted for blood clots all the way down her leg from her thigh. They have her on blood thinners
and hopefully she will be able to come home Sunday. I feel so bad for my parents. Mom was just
getting to where she was feeling better and now this. To top it off , the day they admitted her, my dad
came home and was watering moms flowers and his water quit! He had to call someone in and have
a new well pump installed!! I tell you what...when it rains, it pours! I pray they have some relief from all
of this craziness soon.

Some of my best looking flowers this year despite the awful heat we have had because most of the time
this box is in the shade! :) I see it also needs some TLC as it is coming apart at the front corners.

Pretty ivy geraniums and allysum

I love my brackets that are holding up the box

Hubby and I will celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary on Sunday so yesterday we went
to a beautiful Italian restaurant called LaScola Italian Grill and it was amazing! Delicious food
and a waiter named Justin who was the perfect gentleman. Freshly baked bread with oil for
dipping, house salad that was wonderful and I had Butternut Squash Ravioli on the
recommendation of my bff.  It was so yummy! I couldn't eat the last one on the plate
because I was stuffed to the gills. I probably ate 3 or more pieces of the bread before
we even got our meals. lol  Low lighting , leather chairs and all.  Just a wonderful place that
 we will visit again!

My crown giveaway is almost over so be sure and enter TODAY if you are interested.

Motherhood...my only gems...

"I look back on my childhood and thank the stars above.
For everything you gave me, but mostly for your love."

-Wayne F. Winters from Ode to Mom

There is no way to be a perfect mother, but a million ways to be a good one.

Motherhood...my only gems

She came tonight as I sat alone, the girl I used to be...
and she gazed at me with her earnest eye and questioned reproachfully;

Have you forgotten the many plans and hopes that I had for you?
The career, the splendid fame, and all the wonderful things to do?
Where is the  mansion of stately height with all it's gardens rare?
The silken robes that I dreamed for you and the jewels in your hair?

And as she spoke, I was very sad for I wanted her pleased with me...
This slender girl from the shadowy past , the girl that I used to be.
So gently rising, I took her hand, and guided her up the stair
Where peacefully sleeping, my babies lay innocent, sweet, and fair.

And I told her that these are my only gems, and precious they are to me;
That silken robe is my motherhood of costly simplicity.
And my mansion of stately height is love, and the only career I know
Is serving each day in these sheltered walls for the dear ones who come and go.

And as I spoke to  my shadowy guest , she smiled through her tears at me,
And I saw that the woman that I am now, pleased the girl I used to be.

He Lives!

{I think I may have shared these pictures last Easter,
but just had to post them again this year}

I have very fond memories of growing up and
attending this little country church.

I am so thankful that I had parents who
loved me and who taught me right from wrong.
They didn't just talk the Christian talk,
but they also walked it each and every day and in
every aspect of their lives.

Because of their influence,
and a choice I made to invite
Christ to be Lord of my life...

I know HE LIVES!

This was my church...my little country church that
I loved so much. Sadly it was torn down some years ago.
Every time I drive past the corner
where it once stood, I think of the wonderful memories
and of how I learned about Jesus and
His sacrifice for me.

My sister, brother, mom and I on
Easter Sunday 1965

{that's me with my hand on my hat}

my sister, brother, dad and I .

Weren't we just too cute? All dressed up in our Easter best...

after all Christ gave His best for us.

Wishing you a very blessed Easter as we
celebrate our risen Lord!

More Vintage Paper ~

More antique prints that I purchased last week from the antique store that is going out of business. I just couldn't pass them up~
Paid a whopping 50 cents each for these.

My oldest son , his wife and our 1 year old GD are home this weekend. We haven't seen them for quite some time so I will not be spending much time on the computer. I hope to have more GD pictures to show you next week.

Have a wonderful weekend! Blessings~
