Was it worth it??? {Update on items for sale}

{UPDATE: several of you have contacted me wanting to purchase items , but some
of you do not have your email linked up to your blog so there is no way for me to
 contact you. Please link your email  up to your blog or email me directly...the link is
 on my profile page here on my blog. I feel bad when I can't get ahold of you}

I kinda felt like I was getting ready for a wedding...you know...a big production.

Sewing, gluing, painting, creating, glittering, printing, cutting,scrunching, packaging...
for days weeks on end and then

POOF...

It is  over with...done...fanito!

I am one tired lady and I have decided that once a year is about all of this that I can handle. ha!
{Kudos to you who do this every week or even more...my hats off to you!!}

I got many, many compliments on how nice my treasures were and some people even
purchased an item or two.

But when you get right down to it...did I sell very much??

I sold a few of the burlap bags and several stockings
{but still have some left}

...a few candles and ornies

 one of these Eiffel towers sold

the star boxes didn't sell...two cloches did

I think I sold maybe three sets of candles at $ 6.00 a set...all my number tags went except one set.

I didn't sell any of the old tart tin glitter ornies, {I think they were $6 each}
 but I did sell some of the music ornies with angels on.

All three paper trees sold

a few nests sold

some music sheet angel wings sold, the beautiful white script ones didn't

Sold one bottle , none of the cabinet cards, none of the scrabble tile sayings etc.

...so the million dollar question is:

was it worth it???

Well...I am not sure.  If I wouldn't have had two
ladies that purchased a lot from me, then I would
say it was iffy at best. Do I want to do it again
next year?   Time will tell. I suppose there is something
to be said for hanging in there year after year and
hoping my  "style"  grows on people.  Also, am I pricing
too cheap? I know I am not pricing too expensive.

Lots of questions, but all in all it was still a

great day. I met many wonderful people and chatted
up a storm with them! ha! Here's to small town living!!

{Note: If you see anything you want to purchase give me a

shout out as I just may have it left}

Working my fingers to the bone!

I am still here..really I am!! I realize it has been two weeks since I posted , but I have
been a busy little beaver. Trying to get ready for the holiday bazaar that I am in
on Saturday. Ready or not here I come!! lol

I found this pretty burlap at JoAnn Fabric so purchased a bit of it to make some stockings.

I loved embellishing these burlap bags ~

I made all kinds of tags...these are just a few.

You would think that my theme this year is angel wings because I sure seem to have a lot of
different versions and it wasn't even planned.

Lovely candles waiting for a new home...or two...or three...

More burlap stockings in cream...my favorite!

I thought I would also include some scrunchy ribbon in case someone is interested.

These nests turned out cuter than they appear. They are covered in white tinsel glitter and look so sparkly.

Candles with Jeanne D Arc paper...who doesn't need another candle?? I know I LOVE
candles so if these don't sell I won't feel bad at all. :)

I also made some ornies/hang tags out of vintage flash card numbers.
I thought they turned out rather neat looking.

I am off again...much to do before Saturday hits so I must keep these fingers
moving. I am afraid if they stop they will never start again. ha!!

What I've been up to...

I just realized today that I haven't posted for about nine days so thought I would hop in
here and tell you what I have been up to.

I picked up some acorns on a walk one day...

...and it turned into a mini photo shoot. Hubby
and I have been walking every other day or rather trying to get it in every other day and I
am loving it...him, not so much! ha! I am amazed at the different kinds of acorns that
we have been finding. Here I thought they were all alike. Not so...maybe I can get
some more pictures taken one of these days. :)

 I  bought this tutorial for these beautiful angel wings from Dawn...

 over at The Feathered Nest and I can't wait to get some made.

{photo above taken by Dawn}

I mailed a package to Indiana because a little sweetie of ours turned FIVE this past week...

My oldest son's daughter.
Her mommy posted the following on facebook and it just brought tears to my eyes.
If all little ones could have a mommy like this , how great our world would be!

"Today my precious girl turns 5...5!!!!! "A whole hand mommy!!" Hard to believe,,
but I am so proud of the smart and beautiful and spunky and energetic and
individualistic girl she has become! She challenges my thinking daily.  I'm so
excited for the next 5 years and beyond! "

I had a photo shoot with my youngest son's family...

I took over 400 photos. They sure took a while to wade through, but we got some goodies. :)

I even had to work with a *little* attitude, but it was still a fun day...

I loved taking photos of my sweeties...

I hopped in the car one day and drove up and down our dirt roads and found some
amazing color...

I ate this delicious donut that my bff brought me...

{but not all at once!}

It was like none I have ever had. From a bakery called Rise and Roll

SO YUMMY...and huge!!

I about shouted with glee when my bff brought along these beautiful hydrangeas for me...

I thought this shed was a beauty while out cruising the countryside...

I snapped this photo of Annika before she could move again...

I have been a busy beaver, but it has been a fun couple weeks...

Hope you all are doing well and that your lives are filled with
unexpected blessings daily!

I finally caught the bug!

...the decorating bug that is. I wanted to keep it simple this year so I set out today to return a few items and
found some lovely greenery at the big box store. {somehow that just doesn't scream CHRISTMAS purchasing it at Wally World, but it was affordable so I grabbed a couple large packages}

I had tossed this idea around in my head for a few days and I love how it turned out. I took a frame without glass and hung it on top of my arched window that always seems to hang in the same spot. Someday I am going to change that you just wait and see. :)

I purchased these pinecones at an antique mall seveal years ago and I use them every year in my decor. I love the old tattered ivory ribbon. Over the years some of the ribbon has gave way and I had to re-tie the pinecones with the same tattered ribbon , but I still love them.

Simple , but it works for me.

I also added a little greenery and white ribbon to my paper napkin basket. *GASP* I know I should always use cloth napkins , but paper ones work for me as well.

I just love my paper angel wings and they look so pretty on my shutters.
Here is the greenery that I picked up today. I know this is way off the subject, but have I ever told you that I L.O.V.E. my kitchen sink?? It is extra deep with a little curved part on the left side that makes it even bigger. Add to that our faucet that has a long neck and it is perfect.  It has a few nicks out of it {porcelain} from use over the years and I have toyed with the idea of replacing it, but I am afraid we won't find another deep sink like this one. Besides that also leads to new countertop, cabinets, etc. etc. and that just isn't in the budget right now. Although I do know a *carpenter*...hmm...a certain man that I live with!! LOL
Last, but not least I wanted to show you my free postcards that came a few days ago. What do you think?? I like how they turned out , but wonder if I should have went with one of my other collages. Oh well...they are done now and best of all they were FREE!!! Can't beat that.

Take a peek at my blog url...I have a *favicon* now. My oldest son made it for me when we were over at his place for Thanksgiving. He amazes me. I know he went to school for computer tech and graphic design, but when I watch him click here and there and bamm it is done in a flash...oh my!! If only! We tried a *WT* , but it was just too small so went just for a *W* instead. I think it is much cuter than that big ORANGE *B*. :)

Also, I don't think I told you that my son-in-law {who is only 27 years old} just returned from a trip to Japan the day before Thanksgiving. He is an engineer for GM and was over there for 11 days on business. He brought me back a beautiful paper fan. Hopefully one day soon I can post some pictures from that beautiful country.

I just sat here and ate a bowl of black and white drizzled chocolate popcorn...then did my aerobics for half an hour. I think I defeated the purpose , but I will keep plugging along. :)
Happy White Wednesday!! Join Kathleen over at Faded Charm again this week for more beautiful posts.
