Eden's first birthday in heaven ~

Happy 1st Birthday in Heaven Eden Rain ~

Happy birthday to you in heaven
Our precious granddaughter Eden Rain
We heard the angels are throwing a party
To celebrate your birth and beautiful name.

They must be very excited
I'm sure they have baked a cake
And strewn flower petals all around
Getting ready to celebrate.

They have some presents to give you
That we just know you will love
We sent all your gifts to heaven
On the wings of a pure, white dove.

There's a box filled with love from your mama
All tied up with glittery strings
Inside there are one million kisses
And a new pair of soft angel wings.

There's a box of hugs from your daddy
He misses his little girl so
He's added some dreams and a rainbow
Along with pretty ribbons and bows.

Your sisters gifts are so special
They had to be just right
They worked so very hard on them
Sometimes even into the night.

Their box is the one that sparkles,
Because girls love nice, pretty things
They've included some stardust and wishes
 And lullabies for the angels to sing.

They also put in several handfuls
Of soft feathers for your bed
Then they included something so special
It's a new crown for your sweet little head.

Grandpa and I sent a simple gift
A sweet pair of new dancing shoes
You know how practical we are
To send something you can use.

So when you take those first little steps
Up there on the streets of gold
You can feel us all sending our love
Since you can't be here to hold.

We pray your birthday is very special
And that you know just how loved you are
You're our beautiful and precious angel
Dwelling in heaven among the stars.

Chippy WHITE Project Finally Completed!

You know those projects that start out as one thing and then along the way they
morph into something else? Yep, that is how this project came about.

Do you remember this starting out as a bench/ potting bench. {If not I have added pics
at the bottom of this post}

It was a potting bench that hubby and I created this past summer while he was laid off and
now it is a vanity on our back porch/ laundry/mud room. The vanity we had out here was

NASTY!

I didn't realize how nasty it was until we took it out. ugh. NO, I didn't take before pics.
I didn't even think about it. ha!

I was laying in bed one night with my mind racing a million miles an hour {couldn't sleep
AGAIN} Does that ever happen to you?

Well, I was thinking about the brand new porcelain sink that I had picked up at the Route 127
 garage sales in August for $15 and inspiration hit! Why not make the potting bench into
a vanity. We can always make another bench right??!! yep...it was on.

So, I timidly boldly broached the subject to my hubby.

He was INSTANTLY on board!! Can you believe it??  He is always indulging my whims,
but I know he secretly thinks knows I am crazy!!

So we got started and we both
LOVE
how it turned out!

I had fun filling the little pockets/shelves with lotions , Christmas decor etc. Think of the
decorating possibilities. Unlimited!

I thought my little white twig tree was perfect for this spot.

This mirror is old with some patina and a little cloudy, but I love it.

Do you see the Merry Christmas HUGE burlap piece?

It is a huge lavender sachet that I won a few years ago. In fact I won two of them along
with a burlap bag. These exact pieces were featured in a magazine and I forgot
what magazine! HA! Romantic Homes or Country Living or something. There
was a giveaway on a blog and I won. They still smell wonderful!

We picked out the perfect faucet for the sink. Whoever sees this almost always says,

"Does the sink really work"...ha! YES, it does!

I used an old feed-sack to hang in front of the shelves at the bottom.
{After all I had to hide the plumbing. :) }

This is another corner of my porch where the vanity is.

I would show you all of it, but there is a bag of cat food, a can of kerosene and other
 "lovlies" sitting around that doesn't really make for pretty pics.
 Keeping it real here folks.

The long tin coat hanger is made from old tin ceiling panels from a store that I remember
 going to as a child. Loudens was the name and it was in Montpelier , Ohio. Loved that store!

Okay, here is how the vanity started out. I picked this up at a garage sale this past summer for $2.00!
It was a yucky bluish gray color and had a lot of grease on the top as it was used for a work bench.
I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned and got it painted white.

Then it morphed into this potting bench above and now into my vanity.

Somehow I see a new potting bench in the works next summer. SMILE.
I will have to hit those garage sales again and see what I can find to start our project!

Yep...loving my new/old vanity!

Some of these photos are out of order , but oh well.

My dear friends... always remember that

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL...

no matter what is happening in our lives
that is one thing we can be sure of...Life is a beautiful thing!

Blessings~

Was it worth it??? {Update on items for sale}

{UPDATE: several of you have contacted me wanting to purchase items , but some
of you do not have your email linked up to your blog so there is no way for me to
 contact you. Please link your email  up to your blog or email me directly...the link is
 on my profile page here on my blog. I feel bad when I can't get ahold of you}

I kinda felt like I was getting ready for a wedding...you know...a big production.

Sewing, gluing, painting, creating, glittering, printing, cutting,scrunching, packaging...
for days weeks on end and then

POOF...

It is  over with...done...fanito!

I am one tired lady and I have decided that once a year is about all of this that I can handle. ha!
{Kudos to you who do this every week or even more...my hats off to you!!}

I got many, many compliments on how nice my treasures were and some people even
purchased an item or two.

But when you get right down to it...did I sell very much??

I sold a few of the burlap bags and several stockings
{but still have some left}

...a few candles and ornies

 one of these Eiffel towers sold

the star boxes didn't sell...two cloches did

I think I sold maybe three sets of candles at $ 6.00 a set...all my number tags went except one set.

I didn't sell any of the old tart tin glitter ornies, {I think they were $6 each}
 but I did sell some of the music ornies with angels on.

All three paper trees sold

a few nests sold

some music sheet angel wings sold, the beautiful white script ones didn't

Sold one bottle , none of the cabinet cards, none of the scrabble tile sayings etc.

...so the million dollar question is:

was it worth it???

Well...I am not sure.  If I wouldn't have had two
ladies that purchased a lot from me, then I would
say it was iffy at best. Do I want to do it again
next year?   Time will tell. I suppose there is something
to be said for hanging in there year after year and
hoping my  "style"  grows on people.  Also, am I pricing
too cheap? I know I am not pricing too expensive.

Lots of questions, but all in all it was still a

great day. I met many wonderful people and chatted
up a storm with them! ha! Here's to small town living!!

{Note: If you see anything you want to purchase give me a

shout out as I just may have it left}

Working my fingers to the bone!

I am still here..really I am!! I realize it has been two weeks since I posted , but I have
been a busy little beaver. Trying to get ready for the holiday bazaar that I am in
on Saturday. Ready or not here I come!! lol

I found this pretty burlap at JoAnn Fabric so purchased a bit of it to make some stockings.

I loved embellishing these burlap bags ~

I made all kinds of tags...these are just a few.

You would think that my theme this year is angel wings because I sure seem to have a lot of
different versions and it wasn't even planned.

Lovely candles waiting for a new home...or two...or three...

More burlap stockings in cream...my favorite!

I thought I would also include some scrunchy ribbon in case someone is interested.

These nests turned out cuter than they appear. They are covered in white tinsel glitter and look so sparkly.

Candles with Jeanne D Arc paper...who doesn't need another candle?? I know I LOVE
candles so if these don't sell I won't feel bad at all. :)

I also made some ornies/hang tags out of vintage flash card numbers.
I thought they turned out rather neat looking.

I am off again...much to do before Saturday hits so I must keep these fingers
moving. I am afraid if they stop they will never start again. ha!!

Gifts and creations

I thought I was done showing birthday gifts, but above is another one that my kids bestowed upon me.
A french script ottoman ~
Of course I LOVE IT!  {birthday was 3/10 and it just seems to keep on going, but I think we are
finally done with the gifts. lol}

I have told you before that most times when I watch tv with hubby I can't just sit there and
do nothing. A few nights ago I hauled out the coffee filters again and made these flowers.
Most of it is coffee filters, but then I plopped a fake rose in the center. It just seems to
fit and it hides the center of the filter. I haven't a clue how I will use these, but maybe for
some of the fairy party decor? Time will tell. I also thought about hanging them from ribbon.

More fake roses leftover so I made a wreath as well. These flowers have been around the block so
to speak. We used them for my daughters wedding in 2003 and have since used them in centerpieces
and all kinds of decor. It was time to do something different with them. Again...will probably hang this
somewhere for the fairy party or it may end up at the Goodwill!! :)

Do you see my new sign?? I LOVE this too. Another gift {from me to me. lol} I had some
money saved up for this and finally made the decision to purchase it. It takes me awhile to
let go of saved funds, but I am glad I purchased this. Paula from Castle and Cottage made
it and she did a wonderful job!!
{I need to figure out a way to hide that obnoxious thermostat. :}

When I was roaming around in my picture file I came across this photo of stars that I made back
before Christmas last year. These are so fun to make...well sometimes frustrating , but most of the
time fun. You can really get some wonky looking stars if you don't fold the paper just right. :)
Love how most of them turned out though.
{You start by folding strips of paper over and over and then push in the sides to make the
 stars puff up. Very easy technique}

My inspiration board made over for spring.

Happy White Wednesday to all my friends in blogland. I am getting to the place where I don't know if it is
fair for me to "play" on WW since my slow internet makes it impossible to visit very many people, but for
today at least I played along again. Enjoy your day!!
