It's almost time...plus giveaway ends June 25

Time is counting down to the fairy party that I am having for my granddaughters.
It is getting closer and closer and it will be here before we know it!
Many ideas, planning and let's not forget $$$  {lol}  went into this so I hope it goes off without
a hitch. I also hope that I haven't *oversold* it and that they are disappointed.
Most of all right now I hope the weather cooperates! We have been having sweltering hot
days {96 degrees} and that would not be good come fairy party time.

I made up a cute little poem to put on the invitations and sent them off to my sweeties...

...along with some fairy dust to sprinkle the night before.

A sneak peak of a banner I made just for the day.

I think we will have fun no matter what...kids don't expect everything to be perfect like us
adults do so I am sure I have nothing to worry about. The fairy clothes, shoes and wings
are just waiting for that special day!

If you haven't entered my giveaway for free stickers
that you get to design yourself, please do so asap
because it ends on June 25. Not very many are
entered yet so your chances of winning are very
good. You can click here to get to that post.
Good luck!!

{I do want to add that I found the fairy silhouette image on google and credit goes to

Creating a fairy garden

I have had fairies on the brain lately as it is getting closer and closer to the fairy
party that I am having for my granddaughters.  I decided a couple days ago that I
wanted to make a fairy garden so I rounded up some plants, got up this morning
and my little fairy and I did just that.

She wanted to use a small rusty wagon that has been sitting around  for her new home.
We measured it and found that it was approx. 20 inches long x 10 inches wide and
she determined that it would be just right!

She also asked if she could use the wee rakes that are just perfect for her size and I
told her that would be okay so she got busy and went right to work and was done
in no time at all!

That much work tires a fairy out very fast so she decided she needed to take a break
and sit on her beautiful twig chair.

Just look at all the work she did!

A perfect home for a beautiful fairy don't you agree?

While she was getting her home ready she took a tumble more than once! She fell while
adding the slate path and then again a couple times while planting her flowers.  She sure
is a clumsy fairy! The first fall blunted off her nose and subsequent tumbles made her
wings fall off, but her fairy godmother {moi} glued them back on and she is
*practically perfect*. No repairing her nose though. lol.

{truthfully her nose and wings were mishaps quite some time ago}

The best thing about her home is that when it rains her fairy godmother can pull her
home inside the garage so she doesn't drown!

Yep...I think my little fairy is very satisfied with her new home!
Happy Wednesday!!

{Please ignore all the shadows. It is very sunny here today and I did the best I could.
I have also rearranged the slate path a few times and I am still not totally happy with it
 so it may get another makeover...or two.  lol. }

Renaissance Faire

When we visit our son and his family who live about
2 hours away we try to cram in all the fun we can in
a couple days and this past weekend was no
exception.

Friday evening: Olive Garden
Saturday: garage sales in the neighborhood
and then off to the RC races...along with a few
times when their van would not start so had
to borrow jumper cables...twice.
Sunday: Church, lunch, Renaissance Faire,
sons 30th birthday party...and back home.

I had to share some pictures from the Ren
Faire and of my sweeties. Be forewarned there
are lots of grandchildren photos in this post :)

Fairy Annika

Fairy Keira

Just inside the entrance they had these fairy halos for sale and of course grandma had to get them each one. These are the ones they chose. Annika is trying to do the fairy dance that they were teaching her....Keira wanted no part of it.

there was all kinds of headgear and clothing

I felt so sorry for these people who were all dressed up
because it was about 90 degrees and so humid...
hot, hot, hot!

Our two little fairies got an *audience with the queen*.
This gentleman said that usually the queen does not
see fairies , but she might make an exception. He
announced them to her and and she agreed to see
them :)

They want to sing her a song and she is asking them
what songs they know.

We even found some pirates sitting near
the queen. Yikes!

They are all singing twinkle , twinkle little star.

They also bowed to the queen , but I didn't
get that photo...bummer.

Such a long, hot day, but the little fairies were determined
to have a good time.

Fairy Annika even got her face painted.
Again...Keira wanted nothing to do with it.
She is more of an onlooker and not so much a
participant. lol.

Two sweet fairies sitting under a mushroom.

Playing ring toss

Picking a prize out of the treasure chest.

Right before we left we all had had to stick our
faces in these holes and get photos.
This is my youngest son and his wife.

Such a fun ,but very busy couple days.
Making memories while we can and cherishing
each and every one of them!

Blessings~

A visit from Tinkerbell

I had the most wonderful visit today
from a special little fairy named *tinkerbell*.
{she sure looks a lot like my sweetie Annika}

She ran and she played like all fairies do

and she had to show me this *pose*

I sure love this pretty little fairy and I
am so glad that she stopped by for a visit!
{She is our only grandchild that lives closeby so
she gets more "airtime" than the others...lol}

We have a little fairy,
Who flits about the house,
As gleeful as a cricket,
As quiet as a mouse.
She brings papa his slippers,
She runs upstairs and down,
The dearest little fairy,
In all the busy town...
the dearest little fairy,
in all the busy town.

Wee witch in a jar...as promised

Yes, I know, two posts in one day...what am I thinking??
Well, I got my little wee fairy witch in a jar made today. She was so fun to do. What do you think? I used the same little girl as the fairy tutorial from
Dawn over at The Feathered Nest , but added
a witches hat, a black tipped wand and a
*spooky wishes* banner. I love her!

I tried and tried to get better pictures, but this is the best
I could do. Sorry. I wish I knew more about photography,
but that is for another post. :)
Hope you enjoy her as much as I do.

update: I took two of these to my booth and they sold
in two days.
{I made one with wings and one without}
YAY! Gotta make more!

Fairy shoes, fairy wings, fairy party!

A special little granddaughter
had quite a special party and we were
invited to attend.

Annika's 3rd birthday fairy party

complete with headband,
fairy ring,
fairy sparkles,
pretty hair,
fairy wings,
and fairy shoes.
{dh blowing the balloon...lol}
even fairy toys!
alas, the little fairy's shoes were too big
and they kept falling off, but she happily
kept putting them back on.

The little fairy had such a grand time.
she rolled and she laughed,
she exclaimed *YES* when someone
gave the pretty little fairy some candy,
she even had a little attitude now and then,
{imagine that...lol}
but overall the sweet little fairy had a wonderful
time turning 3 years old ~
