Larkspur in my garden

I consider myself kinda knowledgable about flowers since I have grown them for years, but I don't think I have ever planted larkspur.
If I have, it would have been years ago and I sure don't remember it. I was drawn to this beauty in the market a couple weeks ago. Can you guess why? Because of it's gorgeous white blooms!

I think they are just stunning.

The white blooms against the blue glass
make them look even more beautiful.

I planted her in front of my porch and when I shot this photo I was delighted to get my birdbath pedestal in the background.

White blooms with a french correspondence letter.
{I will tell you more about that later I promise}

I also had to throw in this photo of my Miss Kim
lilacs from a few weeks ago. This plant was prolific
in it's blooms this year and I was thrilled . Last year
it hardly bloomed at all. The smell is just
amazing and it is planted right outside our
back door so we get to smell it every day.

Linking up with Kathleen over at Faded Charm
again this week for White Wednesday. We certainly can't forget the most important day of the week in blogland now can we?

Roses and peonies

Before we get to the roses and peonies I have a
question. Is it time to change my blog header? I still love it, but I also have noticed that so many
other people change theirs up quite often and I
don't want to end up having a boring blog that no one
wants to visit...so is it time for a change?? Please let me know what you think. :)

{with that being said I just purchased calling cards

that has my current blog header on them}

This is my one and only peony bloom of the whole season
so I had to get some mileage out of her.

The pictures are kinda out of order as this one
was taken when she was "on her way out" and
her petals were starting to droop.

Peony in blue glass with plain background

and peony in a vignette

Also, my beautiful old fashioned roses in
different settings. How do you like the contrast
of the china bowl and rust?

In a small pitcher close up

Or in a wooden box out on the deck

If you could smell this fragrance you would
want to bottle it and keep it forever.
Yes, they smell that good!

I wanted to take a break today from all the
french pretties and show you some of my flowers
so I hope you enjoyed them.

Amazing french antique mall booth

I sure have been doing a lot of blog posts lately
haven't I? I go from one or two a week to several,
but I have just had a couple of very interesting
weekends that I had to share with you.

On the way up to visit with our
daughter and her family we stopped at an
antique mall that I found on our last visit.
I was in awe when I found a french
booth this time around. I loved everything
about it...all the goodies and the displays so let
me take you along with me today. I know
you will love it too!
This is the cutest ever vintage french water glass
and carrier. I opened it up and inside is a small
clear glass that says, "made in france" on
the bottom. I had never seen anything like it
before. So cute!!

Neat french style pillow in an old bed.

I also adore old gates! someday...*sigh* Can you say french seltzer bottles? I also thought this wire plant stand was a keeper.
I reallyyyy wanted the papers underneath the french
pharmacy boxes with the french writing, but they were
for display only. I looked and looked for a price and could
not find any. Bummer.
French cemetary urn...very small compared
to what I see here.
I love enamel number signs.
I am thinking of doing something like this
to an oval frame I have and using it for
a wreath. I think I can figure something out
along those lines. :)

{the linens you see in the middle of it are not part
of this booth. They are showing through the window
from another booth}

Truthfully I could have just bought the whole booth
if my pocketbook would have allowed.ha!

Loved these doorknobs too , but a girl can only have
so much stuff right?? I am already cleaning out stuff
and donating it to the church garage sale so I need to
be really choosy with what I bring home. If I still
had a booth I would not be so choosy because I could
just schlep it up there eventually.
Neat little zinc trays...I looked at these for a long time
as well.

I wish I had gotten a better photo of this darling
vintage french lunchpail. It was light blue enamel
with white speckles and it had a little removable
tray underneath the lid. So, so cute!

I know there were a lot of photos and I hope you enjoyed
your tour of the french booth. I took so many photos in
it that I am surprised they didn't chase me out! :)
