Vintage silverware, makeover and an old counter

I love pretty vintage silverware that has beautiful
designs and I found this silverware for a *song*.
{sure seems like I sing a lot doesn't it...lol}
It was very grimy looking so I polished it up and was
amazed at how beautiful it is.

I also picked up this wooden box at a garage sale several
years ago. It was burgundy in color so this past summer
I painted it white. Next I added pieces of vintage wallpaper
to the inside. I then gave the wallpaper two or three coats
of Matte Mod podge.

Love how it turned out, but now I need to get some
little wooden feet for it yet.

Sorry for the flash in some of the pictures. One of these
days I will learn how to take better ones...I hope!

I fell in love with this antique counter the moment I
saw it. It would be just perfect for my kitchen...except
for one teensy little problem...the price.lol.

Look at the detail work...amazing!

I love the back of it, the color, the size... so I asked hubby if we could make one a lot cheaper and he said *most definitely*. {he builds cabinets and can make most anything}

This is now on my list of things*to do* things when Spring/Summer comes. We shall see if it actually gets accomplished or not. I always have these grand ideas and sometimes the time just isn't there to bring them to fruition. {Now I need to take measurements before it is

whisked away to stay in someone else's home}

Have a blessed Saturday~

Ladies...I got nothin'...

...nada...zilch. I am running out of pretty pictures
to show you and things to blog about so I guess I need
to get my thinking cap on and start snapping photos.

Although...I did find this gorgeous picture below
of my beautiful sleeping granddaughter Ainsley.
{in her car seat}
She certainly is NOT nothing...she is definitely
something!

Isn't she so sweet? Reminds me of her daddy when
he was that age. Don't you just love the little ears
on her outfit? Cute!

One more thing... in case you all were wondering how to
find that popcorn that I blogged about a few days ago...
this is what the packages look like.

I had never had this cinnamon sugar before {but I literally inhaled the black and white drizzled}
I went to Walmart the other day and this is ALL they
had. No black and white and ONE bag of this so
I thought *oh why not*...now another kind I am
hooked on. lol

{and yes for those of you who asked it is
calorie free...well it may have a few of those
mean little calories, but worth every bite
I promise}

Now a chuckle for your day: A couple days ago I found a Reeses peanut butter
cup in my cupboard and I unwrapped it,
promptly threw away the candy and started to
eat the wrapper! I think I am losing it! hee hee Hoping you have a great Friday. I went on a
marathon shopping spree with my mom yesterday
and although I really didn't buy much, I am
exhausted so today is for resting I guess...
and maybe some creating.
Blessings~

First White Wednesday of 2011

Okay here we are once again and as usual I am
not ready.
These photos will have to make do for this week's
White Wednesday. You would think I would have
it all together by now , but I don't. Maybe someday I
will but it is highly doubtful! lol.

I thought I would share a few of my Christmas goodies
with you. My daughter gave me the napkins above
and I love them!
{along with a gift certificate to a favorite b and b}
Can't wait to go...probably this summer.

My talented daughter-in-law Melissa has been talking
about doing these types of pictures for quite some time,
but I was still very surprised to open this when we
celebrated Christmas with them this past weekend. She
took all the photos herself and said that they searched
all over for a white frame and just couldn't find one. I will
either leave it as is or have hubby spray it white. Love it!

This was my favorite snack this year for the holidays.
all natural drizzled black and white
kettlecorn
I purchased it at Walmart and have since gone back for
several more bags. {hey...they are small bags. lol.}
Everyone who tasted it said it was the best popcorn
they ever had.
It is called Indiana popcorn {but I first found it in Ohio
and Michigan}
I could eat a whole bag at one sitting if I really tried.

This is one of the gifts that my youngest son and his family

gave me and I have yet to open them.

I think they look pretty this way.

I found this at TJ Maxx on our New Years weekend
jaunt to Indiana. It has a glass insert and it matches my
tall basket just perfect that I got at Home Goods this
past summer. It was a steal at $5.99.

I have been furiously trying to get my house back in
order and it is taking too long. I am trying to clean out
and purge and it is hard when I don't know what to
keep and what to get rid of, but I am slowly getting
it done. How about you? Have you got all your
Christmas put away yet? Sorting...purging...
cleaning?? This happens every year with me after
the holidays. I feel like I just need to downsize and
get this house cleaned out.

Blessings~

I found some goodies

I spent all day so far taking down and putting away
*Christmas* so I thought I would take a break and
share some of my new found goodies with you.

I picked up three of these LOVE signs packaged
together at Hobby Lobby on clearance after Christmas.
Wish you could see how sparkly it is. It is covered with
glitter and is quite large. I am thinking
Valentines Day.
It will be here before we know it!

I also found four of these cats and dogs signs at the
Goodwill. They were brand new and still in their plastic
wrapper. Love the colors.

This is a Katie Brown plate that I thought was interesting.

Now if any of you have an idea of what this dish is please
let me know. Another Goodwill find. I am thinking butter dish
but, on the bottom is stamped, " designed by gourmet village
dishwasher and microwave safe" and then it has some
words in french as well. So I am now thinking why in the
world would a butter dish be microwave safe?? What do you think?

I also purchased this wire basket at the Goodwill
and sold it the same day I put it in my booth.

My *icing on the cake*...Rachel Ashwell simply
shabby chic comforter in perfect condition for $15.

I have also picked up some neat old books lately and
a few other goodies, but don't have pictures of those
yet. What have you been doing?

My house looks like a hurricane struck trying to get
everything put away,but I am getting there. Much sorting
and digging out to do in the next few weeks as well.
I am purging and most of it will probably end up
in my booth.
If you see anything you are interested in give me
a shout out and I will see what I can do.

I also want to give my booth a makeover sometime
soon so we will see how that ends up working out.
Have a beautiful day...
This is the day that the Lord hath made!!

Striving this year to be...

...a little more kind,
a little more friendlier, and
a little more loving.

...a little more understanding of others,
a little less judgemental,
and a lot more creative!

Speaking of friendly... Was I ever surprised to open my mailbox last Thursday and find a package for me from my bloggy friend Irene . She made this angel from a beautiful white flower and sent her all the way from Canada to little ole' me here in the frozen tundra of Michigan. Isn't she beautiful?? Thank you so much Irene!! Praying that each and every one of you will have a wonderful new year and that when trials do come {and truthfully we know that they will} that you will always look to the One who sticks closer than a brother.

{ I know I told you there wouldn't be any more tree pictures,

but it was the perfect place for my angel}

Blessings~
