White Wednesday and new glasses ~

Can you believe I ate the whole thing??

{ I tried to be extra careful so it wouldn't look too messy...lol}

Now ladies...do you wear glasses?? If you have had
your eyes checked anytime lately you know that there
are literally hundreds of glasses to choose from.

I finally narrowed it down to two pair.
I wanted something very
different and I accomplished that, but....
I can't handle the bifocals...no line bifocals.

My first time ever with bifocals and I thought it would
take me a few days to get adjusted,
but these just aren't working for me.

I restocked my booth yesterday and went to a couple
antique stores and just couldn't handle anymore.
My eyes were so fatigued from trying to see right!
It should not be that hard to see in my opinion...
so I called my optometrist when I got home.

Told them I wanted regular glasses and get rid of the
bifocals and I will just continue to take them off
to read. They want me to come in and have them
adjusted and see if that works any better...give it two
weeks and if not then they will change them for me.

I did ask...*ahem* ..."do I have to pay for this change?"

{I about had to mortage my home for this pair as it was}

and she sweetly told me no....thank God!
So the glasses saga continues... I do LOVE the glasses
{see new profile pix} just not the bifocals...
they even have *bling* on the sides!

I will be at the dentist today when you are reading
this...probably having a tooth pulled. Or rather...
what is left of one...ugh!!

update: tooth is gone! No problems at all...God is good!

Be sure and visit Kathleen over at Faded Charm

for more WW posts.
Blessings~

Good morning, Sandi--well, I hope you're having a good morning....you're at the dentist, aren't you? Hope it's going alright!

I just got the no-line bifocals this last year...I thought I'd hate them, but they actually didn't cause me any problems. I'm sorry you're having to get new ones...a pain!

Sounds like we're on the same track--I love my new frames--bling on the sides!

I hope you have a good day--after the dentist. Eat something else yummy as soon as you can. We don't have to see clearly to taste something fabulous, do we?!

I had the same problem when I tried bifocals a few years ago. Could NOT see right, so I took them back and got single vision lenses. I just take them off to read, etc.

Oh, did that jelly donut covered in sweet sugar look amazing! I suppose you needed something substantial because you weren't sure you'd be able to eat after the visit to the dentist :)

You do look cute in the glasses ~ I hope you are able to adjust to them. I need glasses for distance too but only wear them when driving, watching tv or in church.

Hi sweetie, I love your new glasses on you!!! I know what you mean too...I just bought my first pair and they are those bifocals with no line...ugh! I have about the size of a pinhead spot at the very bottom that I can read through, what's up with that??? And trying to look on the computer is just a joke!!! Oh well...I hope you like the new lenses much better ~ and glad that pesky tooth is gone...we are reaching that age aren't we?! hugs and love, Dawn

Hi, Sandi! That pastry look(ed) yummy!

Bobby has fallen down several times since getting bifocals! I think they're dangerous!

I wear reading glasses and finally got a new pair but they are too strong! I had put off picking new ones for so long because I hate change! Oh well, if at first you don't secceed, try try again!

Ouch! I've never had a tooth pulled before. I still have my wisdom teeth! ♥

Cute glasses, Sandi! Hopefully they will be able to work the kinks out for you... My mom struggled with her no-lines at first, but she loves them now.

Mmmmm....the pictures of your white yumminess is making me hungry! :)

Enjoy the rest of your White Wednesday...hopefully with not much pain from the dentist!

Oh my you are going through the same thing as me- I just got my new pair of bifocals (first time bi-focals) and gosh it is hard to see!! I have been pulling wallpaper down and can't even begin to use them! The lady said you need to wear them all the time to get used to them but geez this is terrible!! I wore them all day yesterday as we were out alot and so not wallpaper stuff but had such a headache when I got home.
The paper is finally down and I am giving it this weekend before I call it quits!

I do like my frames too_ actually got 2 for the price that the optomotrist office quoted for 1!

blessings!

Cute, cute! I love them. I can't do the bifocal thing either. I get motion sick when I wear them. Actually I get motion sick when I do anything, but esp. with bifocals. I wear contacs mostly, but at night I cannot see without my glasses when I get up in the night.
Maybe you shouldn't be so mean and eat in front of us so you won't have to have your teeth pulled.LOL
Hugs to you my friend.

Whatever that was, it looked (yes looked) good. Hope you enjoyed it. Sorry to hear about the tooth. I absolutely hate going to the dentist and I even have a nice one but hate going so much. I'm with you on the glasses. Have lenses I'm not too happy with now - different prescriptions in each (one for near, one for far) used to be okay but now I think they're too far apart and will need to wear bifocal lenses. Feel better Sandi, my thoughts are with you!

Hi Sandi,
That looked good!
I developed cataracts several years ago, and it wasn't much fun trying to see. I had to give up driving in fact. When I had the cataracts removed, I no longer needed to wear glasses {with no line bifocals} or contact lenses; just readers. What a difference it has made in my life! As for the dentist, well that is one place I never enjoy going! Does anyone? Hope you made out ok and you're able to enjoy your evening.

Blessings,
Sandi

Well, you're just falling apart, huh? Glasses, tooth pulling. ROFL! I wear contacts and pop on cheapo drug store glasses for reading. Hope the new lenses do the trick for you!

Hi! I just found your blog, and have only read your first post, but I'm already in love with your blog. You have a wonderful way of writing and I love your photos on the side.
Sorry about the glasses. I know how hard it is to get used to something new like that. You're right. Seeing shouldn't be something hard or complicated. Hopefully they'll get it right next time.
Blessings,
Patricia :o)
Ps: Glad all went well at the dentist.

If you are having troubles with your bi focals, you do NEED adjustment from your optometrist. I had a pair one time for two years and could not get use to them, when I took them to someone else he adjusted them and I'm wearing them now. When he adjusted them for me, I put them on and walked out wearing them never to complain again. Now the only other solution would be that new lazer surgery. My sister loved that. You deserved that whole donut for you troubles though.

Sandi amor, I don't think I have ever seen a donut look so beautiful! :) hmmm I think I will have to stop at my favorite donute shop on my way home from taking the kids to school, although they never have lovely roses on them like that...I might have to add a comment to their suggestion box :) I know I need glasses, I am so tired of not being able to read the fine print without the paper zooming in then away from me, over and over lol and I noticed that when I wear my reading glasses...yes with bling...store bought lol I actually get dizzy and nauseaus looking around while I have them on...Dawn says is it part of getting older...ugh I have tried so hard to fight it...but now even the body aches are starting to convince me...I need another donut :) Besos, Rose

Hi Sandi, it's been awhile since I've been here. I've been busy helping to move our antic shop and I've been worn out. I'm trying to catch up and visit everybody. I'm getting ready to have a drawing for my followers. I'll be posting about it soon so come visit.

I love that old white house you've posted about in the city. And I think that you white wednesday post of that beautiful white doenut is the most unique one I've seen for awhile.

I so sorry about the glasses issue. I had the same thing, only with tri-focals. My brain would not adjust to it so I had to go back to bi-focals and just suffer with bad vision at a certain distance.

come visit
Hugs
