Savor every minute

We're doing a lot of complicated things in the world these
days and we're doing them too fast.
Something's got to be done about the passage of time.
It's got to be slowed down.
The days, the weeks, the months, and the years
go by too fast. Our lives go by too fast.
We're always hurrying time along by looking forward
to things tomorrow instead of enjoying today.
Last weekend I heard a television weatherman say that
summer was right around the corner. Well,
summer is not around the corner. Summer starts
on June 21. The corner is still 71 days away.
I mean, what's the rush?

Planning is bad for the passage of time. Planning
anything a month in advance makes that month
pass quicker.

In March I was looking forward to the beginning
of April because I like April, but I was so busy looking
forward to April that I forgot to enjoy March which
isn't bad, but first thing I knew, March had passed
and I hardly noticed it.

The days that drag are the days when we have nothing
coming up in the future. We could use some of those
days because they're what we need more of to make
time last longer-days that drag.

So, slow down, don't plan, savor every minute.
-Andy Rooney 60 minutes

{I heard this on tv last night and it really gave me
a reality check }

I agree, Sandi! I love the quiet, slow days...time is rushing by too quickly!

I plan on a very slow day today--no where I have to be--and I'm going to love every second!

Hope your days is wonderful!

So true, we live in such a hectic gotta do gotta do society now.Everyone is highstrung uptight etc.We do need to slow down. For some reason I think some people are scared to just relax seriously what is it?

When I go to Joanns now, I see all 4 th of july items,I have a thing about that as well.Id love to see the items around a week before the holidays not a month before. As it goes same way with Christmas all the Christmas things come out after halloween.Grrrrrrr,I detest that.

Relax and enjoy your day Sandi!

Great reminder, sometimes I feel like I'm going through life holding my breath! There's just so much to get done each day, but I'm trying to consciously slow things down too.

Oh Sandi I remember my parents always saying to me "time is going by so fast". I find myself saying that all the time now. I loved Andy Rooney words. Also Love how Trace Adkins sings it...

"You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These Are Some Good Times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this"

And I love his voice!

Wow! You know, I've never really thought of that, but it's so true!

Thanks for the reminder to slow down and savor every moment! Easier said than done, but a good goal to shoot for!

Have a great evening! May we all savor it!

Warmly,
Lori

Sandi amor, I love Andy Rooney, He always made me think...sometimes I needed that :) Time truly does go by too fast...but sadly just yesterdat, I was thinking...I can't wait till summer vacation and sleeping in and enjoying the sunshine outside in our garden...then I went to the store and there was a sign that said only..___Many days till Christmas, Are you ready? lol I couldn't believe that...I think I would rather be in the here and now of April and enjoying all that entails :) like my mamas Bday this week and my youngest next week :) Have a beautiful week amor, but....also a beautiful TODAY :) Besos, Rose

ps...98% of the time, I look at the Freebies on Craigslist...but since I have gotten so much stuff, I don't visit as often :) Making my amor, a happy man lol
