Oh the things we do...and redo!

I recently purchased two shelving units for my studio that are made out of barn siding, painted white and then distressed. I love both of them! One has a vintage screen door on the front to close it off and this one does not.
So you know what that means...I had an excuse to rearrange my studio all over again!

This is an old vanity that I have had for several years that was in the back porch entry way, but I put my chippy, new, old table there and brought this one in here. I purchased it at a garage sale for $2.00.

Even the floor lamp doesn't escape some vintage lace treatment.

One of my ribbon centers and my inspiration board.

The lighting in this room stinks. I had to jump through hoops to get halfway decent photos!  I reallyyyy need to take a photography course to find out what in the heck I am doing. LOL!

One of my stacks of vintage tablecloths, pillowcases, lace etc.

One can never have too much vintage lace. :)

I found these iron fleur-de-lis several weeks ago at Hobby Lobby in their 90% off pile so I had to add them to my studio.

A wonderful lavender sachet that came from Little Cottage Shoppe. I ordered several of her Jeanne d' Arc scarves that she was selling at half off and she included this in one of my packages. Love it!

This is the cabinet with the screen door on the front...love it!
A closeup for you of my berry box filled with goodies that I purchased from Becky over at Timewashed! I LOVE the detail and care that she puts into each package. I really need to hang these up so they can be seen. Of couse I haven't actually used anything or even opened anything that I bought from her yet. Do you do that too? I just love pretties!!

My inspiration board with some fun goodies on it.

I love little button cards with the buttons still attached.

One day while looking through Pinterest , I was inspired to round up all my old salt and pepper shakers and fill them with glitter. Sure makes for a pretty picture. :)

More glitter love...

Pretty boxes...this particular day the lighting was extra horrible with shadows and everything. hee hee

Little metal tins that I found at a garage sale a few years ago for 25 cents each. I LOVE THEM, but sold most of them and all I have left are these two. WHAT was I thinking?? Oh, the life of a creator and seller.

The crowning touch...my Goodwill chair!! I didn't have to do one thing to this except wipe it down cause I always do that. It is PERFECT in this room. I took out the huge, BLACK, clunky, rolling wheel computer chair and put this in and was instantly a happy camper! We rolled the black, ugly chair out the door to the roadside with a free sign and the neighbor snatched it up! She said her daughter is thrilled with her new desk chair. :) I love to share, don't you?

Here we are again...back at the beginning. ha ha!! Guess I didn't need this in here again.
I hope you enjoyed your tour of the south end of the studio/computer room. One of these days I will get the other end redone and show it also.

I will say this about "redoing" things. This room was a porch when we moved here back in 1982. The inside walls {that we covered up with paneling and then wallpapered} are a light gray board and batten!! Every day I would like to rip this paneling off and have those walls showing, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe one of these days. It also has a cement floor underneath the berber carpet...gray...oh the things I could do with that. LIVE and LEARN ...or so we hope. Ha! Happy weekend!!

I have been bitten!

I know...I can't believe it myself, but the creativity bug
has finally bitten!! I actually sat down this morning
and finished up these french lavender sachets that I
started several days ago. I do love how they turned
out and they are now in my Etsy store. If you don't
do Etsy just give me a shout out. :)
{I do have more sachets than I have listed if you
need more as well}

I tend to get carried away taking photos.

I made three different styles.

I embellished them with crinkle ribbon and paper tags for a little something extra.

Little sachets all hanging out together...hee hee.
Happy Thursday! Blessings~

Beautiful lavender sachets and minor disaster

Thanking God today and every day that we live in a nation
that is still free and that we can still worship God freely as
well. I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday. We had a
cookout at my parents house {wonderful time}, but then
it was right back home as hubby is replacing a small roof
on our home and he only has a few days to do it.

{it is the roof I was on top of this past winter shoveling
off!}

Speaking of the roof we had a small disaster that I will get to
in a bit, but before that...

I promised to show more of these beautiful lavender
sachets awhile ago and today is a perfect time.
I purchased these gorgeous pieces from
the bathing boutique
at the Flint Farmers Market.

They were made with vintage linens

and then embellished with printed images of beautiful victorian ladies.

I love each and every little detail.

hand stamped ribbon along with a rosebud
made out of fabric

They now reside on my bedpost and I love them there.

I also wanted to share a favorite shelf in my bedroom.
Can you believe it is chippy white? lol
Can never have too much of a good thing!

Believe it or not it is almost time for White Wednesday
again so be sure and visit Kathleen over at Faded Charm.

I am one tired grandma today. I had my little Ainsley
and Annika today while our youngest son helped hubby
with the roof. Never knew I could wear green beans
so well! ha! Ainsley loves to bat the spoon out of my
hand when I am feeding her. Yep...green bean
covered grandma here. :)

Now on to the disaster part of our roofing project.
As I said our youngest son has been helping and
yesterday he fell through the ceiling of my studio!
{rather his leg fell through}
I heard a terrible crash, went to investigate
and found a gaping hole. I started picking up
nails, a hammer, brackets and pieces of the ceiling
that had fallen down into the room.
I figured all was well and that it was just a misstep.
Then through the hole I hear my son moaning so
I ran outside and found him laying on the roof
just groaning and holding his head.
I yelled and asked if he was okay and really
didn't get an audible answer from him so I ran
to find my husband who was in the shop getting
some wood. I told him our son was hurt and he
dropped it and ran. LONGER story short...
son will be okay , but when he fell his one
leg went through the ceiling and the other
leg twisted behind him. Of course it had
to be his bad knee that he hurt at work a few
months ago. I felt so bad for him. His hip is also
sore, but all in all I am very thankful that it
wasn't worse!! He was here today again and
helped for several hours and thankfully no
mishaps today.

...and how was your weekend? :)

Blessings~

A gift for Kathleen on her 100th White Wednesday

I wanted to do something special for Kathleen since
she is celebrating the milestone of 100 White
Wednesday posts this week so I whipped up a
lavender sachet for her.

I thought it turned out pretty cute...tufted buttons
and all.

But then somewhere in the back of my mind a little voice is whispering to me that I think she may be allergic to lavender. oh dear. I think I remember her commenting about it at one time, but it may have been someone else. I need to find out asap.

I know this is a White Wednesday post and I have lavender lilacs, but there is some white so I think I am okay. lol.

These gorgeous lilacs are from a start that I dug up at my son and daughter-in-laws home two or three years ago and it is already big enough for me to cut flowers off of. Amazing!

When I first put them in this container and filled it with water it promptly all ran out the bottom all over my windowsill. Oops..it is a planter not a vase. So I put them in the white pitcher.

Please visit Katheen over at Faded Charm this week where she is having some amazing giveaways to celebrate her 100th WW post. Kathleen, please let me know if you can handle the lavender sachet or not. Would be happy to send it to you!! Blessings~ {chair grapic found at the graphics fairy blog}
