Digging in the archives...

"Grandma, I found a princess dress!!"

"You found a princess dress?"

"YES, can I wear it?"

"I really like this princess dress"...

pretty shoes and toenails for a pretty little princess

even pretty fingernails...

"Look what else I found!! "

{there are many treasures to be find at gmas house!! }

"this is so pretty Grandma"...

"I can do it myself"...

YAY...success...with just a little help. :)

" Can I wear some of these too?"

"No , sweetie "

"WHY NOT??"

"because you don't have holes in your ears"...lol

"okay, I will wear this pretty necklace"...

Thus went the conversation a few years ago when a younger Annika was visiting me for awhile. I remember it like it was yesterday, but I had no clue what she was talking about...a princess dress???
When I went upstairs with her and saw the dress , I said ,

"YES, and we MUST take some pictures!"

You see this was MY DRESS when I was a wee lass 50 + years ago. I was probably about Annika's age when I wore it.  My sweet Annika is now six years old so she no longer fits in the dress, but I must try it on her little sister Ainsley and get photos also.

How fun to travel back to years ago all because of a dress and my sweet little granddaughter.

{These photos were taken a few years ago also and as such aren't the best quality, but I still wanted to share them with you}

Happy Monday!!

I have come to a realization...

...but we will go on  a side trip before I share that realization with you.  Remember my last post I told you
about my sick little car. Yep...it is still in the great state of Pennsylvania being repaired.  We have to wait
until next weekend to go out and get it because that is the only time it will work out so...being stuck
in my house day in and day out, I decided I better have something to show for it.

At least a *little something* anyway. :)

One day this past week I noticed that one of my seam binding spools was empty so I decided
to utilize part of it and make my own smaller spools to wrap some of my vintage lace onto.

I love how they turned out. One of these days , maybe I can get myself together enough
to show you how I made them.  I think they turned out pretty cute , don't you?

I grabbed some tags that I had punched out long ago and wrote on the back how many yards of lace
was on each spool and then tied them with ribbon.

I have lace...lots  and lots of lace...you could even say miles and miles of lace...:)

I also wanted to wish each and every one of you a very Happy Easter! Easter is
what it's all about as we rejoice in the resurrection of our Lord and Savior.

Now...back to the realization...man I really got lost there didn't I? Being at home day in and
day out with no vehicle to travel around in,  made me realize just how much STUFF I have in
this small house and it is getting quite overwhelming. I wouldn't consider myself a hoarder
by any means, but I have way too much so...if you notice off to the left of my blog I have
listed a few things for sale and will continue to add things periodically. Something has to
give and I thought I might as well share them with my online buddies if they so desire.
Just email me if you are interested in anything and I can give you the details. :)

Enjoy the Easter weekend!!

Precious Jewels ~

Sharing one of my precious jewels with you today~

Guess who paid me another visit yesterday?
Yep ...you guessed it...
My precious jewel of a granddaughter
Annika ~
She adores all sorts of
pretties...
a sweet little girl after my own heart~
When I found her gazing at them I couldn't resist snapping pictures ~
She picked each one up
very carefully,
took it out of the bowl,
and laid it on the top of the chest~
Stretching those
precious little feet
to reach~
"Ooooooo this is a pretty one"... ~
She put on each and every necklace
and even tried to get some bracelets on too.
Once in a while she would look at me and say, " You need to fix this one" {lol} ~
A little "oops" here ~
I was very surprised when she said,
"I love this"
and kept asking me to open it.
{It amazes what she says at only 2 and 1/2 years old}
Don't you just wonder what is going through their
sweet little minds at moments like this ~
Putting all the jewels back where they belong because...
Daddy said,
"Come on Annika...it's time to go"
She just could not leave until she put
every little piece back into the bowl that they came out of.

She is one of my
Precious Jewels
and I adore her. ~

This reminds me so much of another childhood song
that I sang in Sunday School:

Precious Jewels
Little children, little children
who love their Redeemer
Are the jewels, precious jewels
Bright jems for His crown.

Like the stars of the morning
His bright crown adorning
They shall shine in their beauty
Bright gems for His crown.

Enjoy and blessings~

Using Our Talents~

"When I stand before God at the end of my life,
I would hope that I would not have a single
bit of talent left, and could say,
"I used everything you gave me".

It's All in the Details ~

After I posted pictures yesterday of my *CREATIVE SPACE* I realized some areas really needed some straightening up, so that is what I have on the agenda today. lol
I took some closeup photos so you could see some of the details
and understand why I love my space so much...
This room used to be a porch when we moved in here 27 years ago.
We took one door out and added another doorway to make it flow with the house.
I papered it with white embossed paper that you can paint,
but I left it white.
I am thinking the size is about 9 feet x 15 feet maybe....
something like that anyways...
I don't know what I would do without this room!

I have always loved vintage hankies and have quite a stash...this is part of them~
Vintage baby hats and pretty porcelain ~ Love any old greeting cards ~
I use this rose tin for a wastebasket...love it~
I also have quite a stash of rubber stamps...
most of them are in a caddy on wheels under the table~
Love the saying on this old trim board ~
Buttons and glitter and my great grandmothers glasses...
they get moved around a lot~ Purcased these necklaces in a bunch of stuff...brought them home
and hung them on the lamp for now~
Isn't this sewing box just beautiful ~
Another love of mine...old patterns~
Hope you enjoyed your tour of *THE DETAILS* in my creative space.
Have a wonderful day! Blessings ~
