Here comes Peter Cottontail...

...hoppin' down the bunny trail ♪♫♪

Hippity , hoppin'...♫♪♫

Easter's on its way! ♪♫♪...

{from composers Steve Nelson and Jack Rollins in 1949}

I remember this song from when I was little and it always comes to mind this time of year.

I chose to be lazy this year and opt for a purchased kit to make a cute bunny banner.

Actually, I was going to get one for each of my kids families for my grands and I only found this one.
I went to a couple different stores and never saw another one and that was way back when
they first started putting out Easter goodies. They must have been either really popular
or each store got in ONE kit.

This bunny definitely looks like he has been hopping down the bunny trail!

This was my purchase at the store called
Fabulous Finds in Adrian, Michigan
that I told you about a few posts ago. Isn't he sweet??

Please disregard the fall leaves {ahem} from last year. I did get them cleaned up
AFTER I took this photo.

I am so far behind, but I wanted to show you what my hubby Mr. Wayside brought me.

I woke up the day after St. Patrick's Day to these beautiful cookies
sitting on my kitchen table. I told hubby that he staged them perfectly!
They were DELICIOUS and I loved that he thought of me.

Are you busy with Easter preparations?

 I have some of my kids coming in this weekend and we will have the traditional Easter Egg hunt
 after lunch Sunday, but first we will go to church to celebrate our risen Savior!!

HE HAS RISEN AND HE IS ALIVE!!

Blessings~

Tinkering

It has been a long time since I have been able to "tinker" {as Elyse calls it}

I like that word.

I had some extra time on my hands today so I hauled out my supplies and got started.
Easter is coming up pretty fast and I wanted to make some white crosses.

 I have always been enamored with pretty papers, and all the little tid bits that most people
just throw away. Not me.  I keep them ALL to make

something...anything.
...and once in awhile inspiration actually hits. ha!

{a little hoarding tendencies maybe? No, not me??}

This craft is so easy that even the kiddos can do it so get your little ones
at the table , gather up your supplies and let's begin!

I used some almost transparent white paper from my stash along with cheesecloth,
rubber stamps and flowers.

{I won these pretty flowers in a giveaway from Elyse several months ago}

I had several stamps to choose from and the one I chose says:

 "he has risen"

I started folding the paper at one end and folded it over several times.

Then I cut off the excess and glued it down.

I also tore off the ends instead of cutting them off to make it more rustic looking.

Next , pick your rubber stamp of choice and stamp it right onto the cross.

I adore cheesecloth and use it for so many things. I took a piece of it and wound it
around the cross. You can wind it any way you choose. No right or wrong ways here.

I glued the cheesecloth down in a few places and then added some flowers.

{Now that I look at the three I finished, I should have used assorted stamps, but oh well}

Wouldn't these be cute to lay on each plate for Easter dinner?

As I said...SIMPLE and EASY PEASY...anyone can make these.

I am almost embarrassed to even put the instructions on here.

You could even add some thin silver string at the top to hang them up if you so desired.

Do you think you will make some? Please let me know if you do!

Are you ready for Easter??

In search of green

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

I don't really do decor for this holiday so I searched around my home for some

green

and I found a little.

I have had three of these pretty green moss eggs for several years.

Not really a fan of purple , but I do like these eggs.

This cute little chick is standing in some greenish grass.

I added a few eggs to a greenish nest.

This arrangement shows my greenish WILD side. lol

The green hydrangeas are dried from my bushes last year.

You can send a pretty St. Patrick's Day card including the one above by visiting

Crosscards website. You can click here.

Last but not least I found some green on a card that one of my grands made for me.

Do you have green in your home?

I would love to see it!

***********************************************

I wish each and every one of you many blessings today and every day.

Pure randomness and Etsy sale

This post is just pure randomness {is that a word??} , but some pretty images that I wanted to share.

I love this little ironstone dish above holding my stickers .

In my studio you will find, buttons, buttons and more buttons.

I have been working on book bundles and I am having a great time making them.

A left over Easter photo...see , I told you...random!! ha!

Speaking of random...

L.O.V.E. these malt balls that I  picked up at the Harry and David
store when I was in PA visiting my sister. They were giving out free samples and they reeled
me in...hook, line and sinker! :)

I also found these fun opera glasses in PA that are marked PARIS.

up close and personal...

Speaking of PA...my car is finally done and ready to be picked up. We had to have the transmission
 rebuilt.  This car is to transfer over to be hubby's work vehicle when we get a newer one, but we
don't want to do that until late this fall or even next year. We want to drive his little 1995 Ford Ranger
until she breathes her last. We are on a mission to see just how long that will be. :)

I would rather drive an older vehicle and have no car payments , than have a new one with car
 payments. Yep...I have learned a little in my years of growing up...lol. It isn't all about how other
people perceive us or about having the latest and greatest so we will keep plugging along on our
Michigan dirt road and count our blessings!  God is good!

{I am running a sale in my Etsy store. Just enter
spring25
at checkout to get your 25 % discount. Lots of
goodies in the store right now.}

I have come to a realization...

...but we will go on  a side trip before I share that realization with you.  Remember my last post I told you
about my sick little car. Yep...it is still in the great state of Pennsylvania being repaired.  We have to wait
until next weekend to go out and get it because that is the only time it will work out so...being stuck
in my house day in and day out, I decided I better have something to show for it.

At least a *little something* anyway. :)

One day this past week I noticed that one of my seam binding spools was empty so I decided
to utilize part of it and make my own smaller spools to wrap some of my vintage lace onto.

I love how they turned out. One of these days , maybe I can get myself together enough
to show you how I made them.  I think they turned out pretty cute , don't you?

I grabbed some tags that I had punched out long ago and wrote on the back how many yards of lace
was on each spool and then tied them with ribbon.

I have lace...lots  and lots of lace...you could even say miles and miles of lace...:)

I also wanted to wish each and every one of you a very Happy Easter! Easter is
what it's all about as we rejoice in the resurrection of our Lord and Savior.

Now...back to the realization...man I really got lost there didn't I? Being at home day in and
day out with no vehicle to travel around in,  made me realize just how much STUFF I have in
this small house and it is getting quite overwhelming. I wouldn't consider myself a hoarder
 by any means, but I have way too much so...if you notice off to the left of my blog I have
listed a few things for sale and will continue to add things periodically. Something has to
give and I thought I might as well share them with my online buddies if they so desire.
Just email me if you are interested in anything and I can give you the details. :)

Enjoy the Easter weekend!!

Better late than never!

Since I was in the hospital over Easter weekend it put my moms Easter dinner plans
on hold and we had it this past weekend instead. I wore my pj's almost all week long,
but I actually got dressed to go out to my parents house. I have been doing really well
and I am itching to get out and go antiquing.

We also had an Easter egg hunt for our grands at our house afterwards.
{well four of them anyways...the others couldn't be there} I had white
baskets for all of them to use, but Annika found a colored one that I
guess she liked better! :)

{left to right: Keira, Annika, Kanaan and Ainsley}

{I have been told over and over that Keira is the spitting image of me when
I was young}

We  followed the kids outside with their Easter baskets in hand and were getting
ready for the egg hunt when I noticed that Ainsley{littlest grand} was sound
asleep in her mommy's arms. I so wanted her to be a part of it, but didn't think
that was going to happen when all of a sudden her mommy stood her on
 the ground and she was instantly awake and ready to go!  I am amazed
that she was not grumpy because I would have been had it been me! rofl.

I would say that Kanaan has a full basket already!

Annika with a full basket as well...almost time to head inside.

Keira and Ainsley on the hunt.

You talking to me Uncle Jason??

Daddy helping Kanaan find some more eggs.
{if you look close you can see my reflection in the window}

Keira and Ainsley... Keira was so sweet. A couple times she picked up some
eggs and gave them to Ainsley.  Although Ainsley was awake I think
she was still kinda in a trance. :) I got more photos of her then anyone else
because she was the slowest mover. ha!

This one is mine! :)

All the loot has been found and they are ready to go in the house and open all their eggs.
Kids are sooooo fun!! Love watching them get a thrill out of each and every egg and
 what they find inside.   Later that evening my boys and husband went to a movie
 while my DIL's  and grands stayed back at our house with me. The kids played hide
 the eggs all evening long!!  Who knew that a few plastic eggs could keep little
 ones entertained for hours! More precious memories...:)
