Is it my age???

I am so thankful that I had a very nice day today.

Youngest son , his wife and sweet granddaughter Annika
came over in the afternoon for a visit and brought me this cake,
a beautiful card and these gorgeous flowers. It was so nice
because I will be honest here...I had a meltdown last night.

I had watched Annika last evening for a few
hours while hubby, son and his wife went to watch
a movie. Little Miss Annika was not feeling the best
and basically she had a bad night.

Nothing I did could make her happy. She wanted her daddy...she wanted her mommy,

she did not want me.

By the time they arrived to pick her up,
she was inconsolable. I handed her to my son
and I started crying right along with her.

I know I have a lot of emotions when
Mother's day arrives every year, but I have never
had a meltdown like that before. Poor son then had
TWO females to console which he did very well...

Is it my age??

where did those tears come from?

maybe just the *mother* thing and all
that goes along with it??

blessings to each of you today~

We all do it sometimes, Sandi...don't know that there's an explanation for it!

Sounds like you need to eat a very large slice of that gorgeous cake they brought you! Enjoy every nibble and have a beautiful Mother's Day!

I definitely agree that it is NOT an age thing. You wanted to make that sweet little girl happy and you could not and that is so discouraging. I'm so sorry that happened!!! I would've cried too! You are such a beautiful, kindhearted person. Today is a new day!

I think we all go through stages, moments like that, where there isn't always an answer. It certainly takes a lot of energy to care for a little one. I know I couldn't do it again. I have a friend who is pregnant with her 7th child. Her oldest is 20 and the youngest is 3. I just cannot even imagine. Tears cleanse the soul so I hope that you are feeling much better now and having a terrific Tuesday. Blessings, Tammy
