Not a pretty post...

Today has not been a good day girls.

To start with a *man* that I am
*very close to* and whom I dearly love decided
that he wanted to dump a gallon of
of bleach down our well system yesterday.
Someone had told him this is good for the system
as it cleans out all bacteria etc.
{right now I would like to get ahold of that someone}.

Just a slight disclaimer here:
I was against the idea from the start.

I am here to tell you that we have lived here for over 28 years
and have never done this and the well water has been
just fine and wonderful to drink.

I hopped in the shower this morning and was greeted with
a very strong clorine bleach smell that about took
my breath away. Got washed and out of there as
fast as I could, but then my skin started just feeling tingly
here and there and I knew I had to get that chlorine
washed off. Ended up going over to my son's house
and taking another shower and I am not sure that
that even did the trick although it did help.

We ran faucets open for quite a while, ran the garden
hose for a long time and it still smells like chlorine! To make matters worse we were very low on
water softener pellets and had just filled
that up again yesterday.
In case you don't know about those, it
takes a while to regenerate back through the system
and we have very hard water here.

I was cleaning the toilet {of all things}, when I noticed
the bottle I was using was tub and shower cleaner
instead of toilet cleaner!! {I warned you that this is not a pretty post.lol.}

I ended up splashing some on my brand new white ruffled
shower curtain so I knew I had to get it in the wash
before the chemicals ate it up...can you imagine what
happened next?? My beautiful white shower curtain
now has a big yellow rust stain and I mean it is big!

I just wanted to sit down and cry ,
but instead I yelled.
Don't think that helped any.
In fact I know it didn't help any.
Didn't take away the yellow stain,
didn't make *the man* feel any better
and truthfully
it didn't even make me feel better.

But we did learn something....
never ever, ever again will we dump
clorine bleach down our well system!! I pray it gets out of there soon or I will
have to wear the same clothes day after day. {that would not be a pretty site either} I certainly don't want to wash my clothes and
have them all ruined.
*The man* said I can practice on his work clothes,
but do I really want to do that?
Then I would be known as the wife who sent her
man to work with bleached out splotchy clothes!
Truthfully I don't think there is enough bleach
in the system to do that, but it would be just
my luck.

I sure hope the week ahead goes better!!

I am so sorry Sandi. Isn't it weird how some things can happen and just turn our lives upside down for awhile. I hope things clear out soon.

I'm so sorry!! That's just terrible and goes to show men in general don't always make great decisions. Somehow we pay for them.....why is that I wonder???? Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

OMG, OMG... Never bleach in a septic system and I even know this and I have city water. Well I may not have faired here very well either this weekend, SIGH.
I did something not so good myself. I bought panels of decorative rails/fencing system for my garden. Well they have rounded spikes on the ends of them and one fell into the Air Conditioner and left a large gape. UGH, not sure if the AC will work now, guess we will find out if the damage is bad as soon as we want cool air. One step forward and ten steps back. On the up side, the decorative fence looks great but may be a very expensive garden addition. I sure hope both our problems are not big expenses. Hugs, Jane
