Old fashioned roses

Don't you just love the old fashioned roses? The ones that still have an amazing fragrance?
The ones that have not had the smell bred out
of them?

The rose bush I picked these from has been on our
property for years...maybe even centuries. I have
had the good fortune of replanting starts so I now
have three of the bushes. I want to dig up and replant
more this year so they can line my yard in front of
the house.
All I do is get a shovel, dig up a start, make a
hole and plant it. No extra fussing around
with them at all. I am blessed.

Happy weekend~

Good morning Sandi and Happy Pink Saturday to you. Love your roses; they are just like mine! They look so pretty in their bowls.
My roses haven't bloomed yet and I'm anxiously waiting for them to. They do have the most wonderful fragrance and I love the old fashioned look to them. They remind me of lovely Victorian ladies. Thanks for sharing yours and enjoy your weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

What prettiness! I love the scent of roses too. I used to have a big row of bushes lining my sidewalk and it smell just wonderful as you'd walk up to the front door :)

I love to smell a rose that actually has a fragrance. You are right, that so many have no scent.

Love the way they look in your beautiful china.

okay Sandi, please tell me what a rose "start" is. I would love to do that with some fairy roses that have spread out next to the front walk but I don't know exactly what a start is. xo
