Bookshelf makeover

One evening this week as I was watching a little tv
I looked at this bookshelf and thought "okay enough is
enough". The back of it has such a grainy wood and
I have wanted to do a makeover on it for quite some
time now.
{nothing too drastic as my daddy made this unit for me}
So out came my frenchy pages and the scotch tape
and this is the end result. I like it so much better
and hubby does too!! That is always a plus!!

A very old Bible that I love.
My verse for the year:

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my
heart, be acceptable in thy sight, oh Lord, my strenth,
and my redeemer.
Psalms 19:14

Sometimes it is hard , but I am trying to please
God in everything I say and do. Yes I do slip up,
but thankfully I serve a forgiving God.

Pretty vintage books and a favorite clock

Youngest son and his wife. Yes I still have their wedding photo up. They have been married 5 years now. :)

love old photos...especially family photos. hubby and I in younger years and sweet gd Annika.

daughter and her family

oldest son and his family

weren't we cute at one time? LOL

love vintage alarm clocks too and I have picked up
mine for $1 -$6 each.

Wish this was a better photo, but you get the
idea.
Loving the french pages for the background.

See that big black ugly thing...hee hee.
The tv and the sound bar above.
Would love to hide them. I just had a thought. I think I could hide the tv with and tension rod
and some fabric, but still have no clue how to
hide the sound bar and I don't think hubby
would be too happy.
He likes his movies loud! :)

Still continuing to tweak the placement
of each and every little thing...

Blessings~

Good job on the bookcase! That TV, however, is not big...not in the least :)

Hi Sandi,

First of all, I love that scripture. I pray that often when I wake up.

Second...your shelves look wonderful and I LOVE the family photos all around. That's what it's all about...God and our family.

Turned out wonderful and very creative... The tension bar would work and maybe just a ffed sack or lacy dreser scarf above for at least when guest are there.... Oh yesterday and today is a nice break from the heat... Yesterday was a zoo here with kids and more kids and Tom's daughters friends and then the end to the evening with friends of our that are home from Florida { they moved there from here a couple years ago} and spent the evening with us with beverages and conversation... I am just a bit tired today... I am cooing a kettle of green beans now and while I fried bacon I fried some for BLT's for dinner... Hope all is well... hope your day is filled with inspiration.....

Every time I come to your blog it gets better and better! You certainly have a great eye for displaying your wares. Did you know you have a shadow?? I too (from Michigan) went to Tipton for the French Market and loved it. I did see a lady with her camera, maybe it was you! Passed on Lisa's pies, but on the way to Indy lo and behold her store! We couldn't resist HOT black raspberry pie fresh from the oven. Blue ribbons from the state fair lined her walls! This weekend off to Flint farmers market to check out the soap lady. Thank you so much for the address to the antique mall too! "May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed." Psalm 20:4
