Cupid Float...yumm!

Have you ever had a

cupid float?

oh my!

I was introduced to them by my cousin and they are so addictive!

It is so easy peasy to make them!

You get out a pretty glass and add a few scoops of vanilla ice cream.

Then you pour in some Cherry 7-up and top it with whipped cream and a cherry.

I told you ...easy...no calories either!!! NONE whatsoever...haha!

{disclaimer: they just might have a few of those nasty calories hanging around, but they are so worth it}

**************************************

We are still in the throws of winter here in Michigan. We have had some nasty weather lately.

Last week we went to town to get a few groceries and the weather was okay on the way there.
An hour or less later a snow squall burst upon the scene and it was a mess. There were
white-outs and it was scary driving. We had just got outside of town and headed home and came
upon an accident and then not much farther down the road there was another car in the ditch.

When those white-outs hit you can't see one thing in front of you. I can now understand the accidents
where several cars are involved. As fast as this blew up, there is absolutely nothing you can do
except PRAY that you make it through.

I am sooooooooo ready for Spring...is it just around the corner?? I hope so!!

Blessings~

Happy Valentines Day and a WINNER!

I wanted to pop into blog-land and wish you all a

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

I know it isn't until Saturday, but who knows what I will be doing then so I thought
I would tell you now.

Also, friends...please spread the love!

There are so many people who are hurting from loss of  a spouse, family problems, job loss etc
and a little kindness goes a long way. Often it is the little things we do that help cheer up a
broken heart. A heart that has been battered about in life's storms and seemingly sometimes
there is no end. God loves each and every one of you and you are in my thoughts and prayers!

***********************************************

The winner of my Valentine Giveaway is Diane from AUGCOTT blog. I have been in
contact with her and the winning goodies are ready to head out tomorrow. She has recently
lost her beloved, so if you could drop by and give her a word of encouragement I know she
would really appreciate it. Thank you and God bless!

Valentine Giveaway

I haven't done a GIVEAWAY in forever so I decided it is time for one!

You know...that holiday that is coming up soon?

I think it celebrates LOVE?
...yep pretty sure.

Being a romantic at heart what better time to spread the love!
What is included in this giveaway you ask?

Well...

You will be getting a white cup with a pink cozy with extra strong black tea
and a tea strainer...

{I don't care for extra strong tea and really I only drink herbal tea, but it is
what came in the cup when I purchased it. lol. Pitch it if you want, but it does
 look cute in there for the photo..SMILE}

...along with a bag of Dove dark chocolates...

...and four hand/pocket warmers made by yours truly.

Now, please don't look these over too carefully because they certainly aren't perfect, but I had fun
making them. They are filled with rice and I am told that if you nuke these for 30 seconds in the
microwave and then put them in your pockets they will keep your hands warm...

OR...

you can always just use them for decor also. They are kinda cute, no?

Now for all the nitty gritty details:

For a chance to win just add a comment on this post.

For an additional chance share this on Facebook or Pinterest and let me know
that you did and you will get extra chances. That is all there is to it.

United States entrants only please. I would love to send overseas and feel bad
that I can't , but it is cost prohibitive, so for now I must keep it to US only.
Sorry.

I will draw a winner on February 10 so I have time to get it in the mail to the
winner before Valentines day.

Good luck to all who enter!

Blessings~

In between holidays

I haven't put away all my winter decor yet and here it is almost Valentines Day!

I have a red glitter LOVE banner {Wendy Addison} that looks exactly like
the one pictured on the card above, but I haven't dug it out yet.

I tend to forget where I put things and then it takes me awhile to find them.
Anyone else do that? I fear it is getting worse the older I get.

I vow to be more organized someday.

I told you...mixing Christmas with Valentines. HA!

I really ought to take the greenery and pine-cones down today.
I love the very old little glass bell that is on this piece of ironstone.

Did I ever tell you that I got this piece of ironstone on the RTE 127 sales last year for

ONE DOLLAR?

It was in a box along with other old bottles and it was the find of the day.

Dirty and sad looking, but I cleaned her up. No chips, but some crazing and a little
discoloring. Kinda like me..lol

This is a piece that I picked up at the Goodwill for another dollar.

I used to find a lot of goodies at that store, but now not so much.
It is a GOOD DAY when I hit the jackpot though.

These little butter pats were also found on the RTE 127 sale for $1.00 each.

They had a huge bin of them. I have since thought that I should have bought more.

{Hmm... ONE DOLLAR seems to be the going rate on this post}

I found the four bowls underneath the one on top at the Goodwill and they are ironstone as well.

I think they were 50 cents each, but we will say 2/$1.00. *SMILE*

Another little piece of LOVE that I have added to my decor.

I won't tell you what I paid for this pitcher, but it was the same price as other items
in this post...*wink*wink*

Well, this post started out about holidays and somehow it ended up telling you about all my
dollar treasures.  That is what happens to me a lot. I start one thing and find several other
along the way that get me sooo distracted. It is a fun distraction though so I will embrace it.

How about you? Do you decorate for Valentines Day? Have you started?

I would love to hear about it.

Blessings~

Hearts, sparkles, xoxo and all that love!

Valentines Day is one week away...are you ready?? I think I have done more decorating
for it this year than I ever have. Could be because I have been stuck inside this house
with winter storm, after winter storm, after winter storm, after....you get my *drift*?

{see how I did that there...*drift*? lol We have had a LOT of them and HUGE ones}

On one of the rare days that I was able to get out of our driveway, I  went to town and purchased three
of these paper mache heart boxes for 1.00 each at JoAnn Fabric.

{and they weren't even on sale. lol.}

Then I set about painting and embellishing them.

I also added silver glass glitter to each one to give them that added sparkle.

{source for glass glitter that I used can be found by clicking here
Nicki is out of stock right now, but will be getting more in}

I also made a glass glitter banner of x's and o's and red felt hearts.

 They sure do sparkle!

AFTER I took these photos , I decided to add red hearts on each end of the banner also. lol.

Can never have too much love hanging around...*smile*

Last week {or the week before...I lose track of time easily} I sat down and cut out
some cute little hearts from batting and felt. Then I filled them with rice for hand warmers.
Sure could have used these wayyyyy before I made them.  We have had such bitter
cold temps this year.  Brrrr!!

I blanket stitched the edge. Again, AFTER I had made several and you could see where I
stopped and started the edging by using a KNOT, I googled how to start and end a blanket
stitch the RIGHT way. You would think that I would have done that first, but no...Sandi
 doesn't work that way. ha!

Wouldn't a few of these be adorable inside the paper mache embellished heart boxes?

I found the idea for the hand warmers on Pinterest.
You will them with rice and then nuke them in the microwave for 30 seconds.
Stick them in your pockets in the winter to help keep your hands warm. I have heard
that they keep warm from 30 minutes up to an hour, but I haven't tested that out yet.

I did test them out just by nuking them and finding that they did get nice and warm, but
didn't test the time limit out.  I figured they are cute just to lay around even if they aren't
used for warmers.  I want to put them to the test this weekend.

Happy week of LOVE coming up!!

PS I had totally forgotten that the initial place where I first saw hearts for hand
warmers was over at Idyllhours blog by Julie Marie. I always want to give credit
where credit is due so I sure messed up on this one. Sorry Julie Marie! ♥

A new year brings new blessings...

...and a renewed hope along with the ability to try new adventures that God has laid out before
us. We are definitely on that path this year.

I can joyfully report that hubby found a new job and he started today.
Praising God for that wonderful blessing!

Not as much money as he was making before, but the benefits are good and there is a potential for
raises so he could be right back up to what he was making in time.

He will be on first shirt for 60-90 days and then will be going on 2nd shift. This is a little bump in the
road because he loves to race his RC cars and he will miss that, but he is happy for a job. I told him
to race every chance he gets before he goes on 2nd. :)  He also drives 45 minutes one way to work, but
that is only about 15 minutes farther than he was so we are just trusting that God will keep his little
Ford Ranger running until he can get established in this new job and we can get another vehicle.
This is certainly not what we had planned for the new year, but God often throws a kink in our
plans doesn't He?  He does know best so we are putting our faith and trust in Him.

In a span of about six weeks my husband lost his father very suddenly , had to tell his 44 year old
brother that he is adopted and his factory closed with no warning. If that doesn't bring a person closer
to God, then I don't know what will, but we are humbled and thankful for Gods goodness to us.

Also, my dear father was diagnosed with pneumonia this past week , but he is doing better
so we are thanking God for His healing and watch over him.  Praying that God showers you
with blessings that overflow in this new year!!

{Note: if you are interested in any of the above candles I sell them for $10 each plus
shipping. Just shoot me an email. }

God is good ....all the time!!

Blessings~

Valentines day! ♥

Happy Valentines Day!!

24 or so of these sitting in my kitchen ...
Raspberry and cream cheese filled cupcakes...can you say DELISH!!

I made a couple burlap heart banners this week and love how they turned out.
The hearts are covered with glitter although you can't tell that very well.

I hope you all have a wonderful day celebrating with the ones you love.

Hubby shocked my sox off today!
There were beautiful flowers along with candy and a card sitting on the table when I got out of bed.
He leaves for work about 5:15 am and I KNOW he didn't run to the store this morning as there and
back would have been an hour without shopping. ha!! Wondering where he had them tucked away
all night long. Hmm...he always gets me flowers, but gives them to me when he gets home from
work...he was sneaky this year. Love that man!!

I am blessed...♥

Just a little love...

I have been doing a little creating and three one of a kind tags are the latest items that
I have come up with.

~ Blessings ~

~ Key to my heart ~

~ Love...Amour ~

I had fun making these tags, but the whole kitchen was in utter chaos while
I was working on them. Glitter, fabric, embellishments ...everywhere! lol

Just sharing a little love with you before the big day arrives. :)

Have a wonderful Thursday ~
