It's Peony Time!

Are peony's blooming yet where you live? They sure are here in Michigan and
I took the opportunity to do a couple photos shoots. I think my camera is on the way
"out", but I am trying to nurse it along and hopefully it will last for awhile yet.

I had to include some AQUA because I think pink and aqua are just meant to be
together!

I think these photos with the books are off color. The flowers look more lavender to me than the true pink,
but they are pretty anyway...that temperamental camera again. OR it could be the photo taker???

Every time I notice that a few more flowers are out in full bloom, I run and pick them and stick them all
over the house. I just LOVE peony's! Can you tell?

I am including a couple photos of my old fashioned roses also. The smell from these is just
heavenly! They have been on our property for decades and I have dug up several starts,
plopped them in the ground and they grow wonderful for me. These photos are from starts
that were planted.

Hubby picked these light pink ones for me along the roadside a few days ago.

I had a plant exactly this color , but it didn't survive so I need to find another one.
I think it was called Sarah Bernhardt and my bff gave me a start...hmm...maybe
she has another one. You never know. :)

I love mixing all the shades of pink from very light pink to dark. I would also
like to get some white peony's to plant...someday.

I hope you have a wonderful upcoming weekend. My oldest granddaughter turned 16 yesterday and I
will be going to a masquerade party for her. That should be FUN! The older I get the more I
enjoy doing fun things and I am really looking forward to it. I may not look young, but I can
still party. ha!

Motherhood ...

Motherhood IS a glorious career...don't you think so?

I know there are always the naysayers out there who don't think of
motherhood as a career, but boy is it ever! I remember expecting our first child who turned out
to be our one and only daughter. We headed for the hospital in the wee hours on a Sunday
morning and a little before 9 am we called my parents and told them that they were grandparents.
Of course they were overjoyed and this was just the beginning. Two more little ones eventually
came along...two sons with red hair! We were shocked when the first one had red hair, so even
more so when we had a second one with fiery red hair.  We sure adored these little people that
God had blessed us with.

We loved each one of them the best way we knew how, even though we were NOT perfect parents.
We were beyond blessed to have very healthy children and we decided after three that our quiver
was full...no more pitter patter of little feet at the Boothman household. This mama was very content
with her little family, living out on a dirt road in the country.

Kindergarten, elementary, jr. high, prom, dances, girlfriends, boyfriends, heartache, joy, tears,
laughter, secrets, college , weddings...

The days turned into months, the months into years, the years into decades and here we
are grandparents now to EIGHT. Eight amazing little bodies all full of life and each one
with their own unique personality.  I often wonder where the time has gone!!
It flew by so fast that is seemed just like a blip on the radar screen.

I know you young parents hear it so much until your eyes roll, but it really is true...
Cherish the times you have with your little ones now because before you know it
they will be going off to college , then getting married and you will hear the
pitter patter of little feet once again, but it will be the feet of  your precious little grands.

Yes, we are BLESSED beyond measure and I loved every minute{almost...lol} then
and I love it now. I certainly don't have the stamina I once had and it is good to ship those precious
little grands back home after they visit so I can catch my breath...but life is good!

Good times or bad times... each moment made us into the family we are today and I love it that we
love each other.

Wishing each and every one of my blogging pals the best Mothers Day ever!
Blink your eyes and it will be Mothers Day 2014 and we will start all over again. :)

Pure Gorgeousness (is that a word?? )

Sharing some *gorgeousness* with you today for
White Wednesday.

I purchased these beautiful tags from Ozma of Odds
and I think they are gorgeous.

She sure pays attention to detail. They have a glittery
glimmer on them, but the photos didn't pick that up
very well.

I also purchased this lace butterfly from her.
Can you see the wording on the banner?
*butterfly for Japan*

All her proceeds from these beauties go for Japan
relief. What a neat idea!

{don't look too close at the writing on the postcard
because it says Merry Christmas...lol.}

a favorite mirror again with my favorite
candle of the moment

I purchased this pin/hair clip at Kohls.
Don't know if I will use it for it's intended purpose,
but loved it.

Happy White Wednesday to each and every one of you.
Unfortunately I will not be able to check out very many
of your blogs tomorrow due to other responsibility, but
hopefully I can another day.

Blessings~

New Bling ~

I am in love with my new bracelet! I have been eyeing these bracelets for months, but didn't feel that I should spend the money for one reason or another. A few days ago I got an email telling me that everything was 40% off so it was now or never~ Isn't it just gorgeous? AND it is made with two vintage silver spoon handles!! It is so shiny and fits just perfect. She sold out very fast so I am glad I got right on the ball and got this one ordered. My daughter and I and my 10 year old granddaughter are going to a full Victorian afternoon tea on Saturday and I will be wearing my new bling. It will be just perfect~

Also, I would love to reply back to your comments via email, but when I click reply from some of you and check the properties there is no email addy. Just nonreply@blogger.com. If you would like me to reply to you (which I would love to be able to do) you need to be sure and put your email address in your profile (I think that is where?) But then again maybe you don't want me replying to you and that is okay too. lol Just a thought~ Have a beautiful day today. Blessings~

My Quaint Little Bathroom ~

Okay fellow bloggers...are you ready for this??? I know most people don't show their bathrooms, but I worked a little in mine yesterday and I thought *WHY NOT* so here we go...

First let me confess that our house was built in the late 1800's and some of the old wiring and old walls and definitely old LONG windows are still in place. Initially when we purchased this house and acreage in 1982 we had grand ideas of renovating big time, but through years of layoffs and pay cuts and being a one income family that just has not happened and truthfully it probably never will. That being said I am very content in my humble abode (most of the time) until we have to shell out big bucks for heat in the winter or something needs repaired for the fourth time..lol

This is my TEENY TINY bathroom...the only one in the house and I love it. I measured it today and from wall to wall it is only 5 feet 4 inches (I think I am about that tall...I should have just laid down and measured...LOL) x 6 feet 10 inches. We raised three kids in this tiny bath and they actually survived (and even thrived!)

This wall is straight across from the wall with the sink and commode on (that sounds much better than the *T* word don't you think) To the right of this picture I do have a double closet with shelves (and doors) that holds a lot of towels , cleaners etc. ~

Love my vintage towel with a *B* monogram~ Pretties on my stand...not sure what I want in the bowl yet so just stuck the candle in there for picture taking ~
This is what I did yesterday. I had a vintage pink and black stool in here, but I went upstairs and hauled down this little stand and I think I just love it in here! I try to think outside the box when decorating. This is technically a nightstand from Kmart's baby line. I purchased it for $20 or so when it was on clearance and I knew I would find a place for it. Initially it was upstairs at the top of the stairs, but something else will have to go there now.
A PARIS hook on my tiny closet door holding my white PJ's ~
Love this mirror...I have a thing for mirrors. If I find one I love and it is cheap I will buy it no matter that I already have many, many mirrors in this house already! LOL ~
This area is right off to the left as you come in the door. The only dark piece of wood I have in here is the vanity that hubby made a few years ago...now I wish it was painted, but oh well. It will do just fine. Do you see the little vintage light pink match holder above the commode? I put Q-tips in that and love it~
My *caddy* on the back of the commode~
LOVE this light fixture ~
You know me...I gotta throw a pop of color in somewhere every now and then. Depends on my mood if the towel matches everything else or if it is a pink polka dot one ~
I hope I didn't scare you too much by showing you *THE ROOM*. I love fixing up my house and moving things around for a new look. The color of the walls is *Summer linen*...the same color I just repainted my back porch/laundry room. I am hung up on this color. Have a joyful day filled with doing things that you love. Blessings~
