Eden's first birthday in heaven ~

Happy 1st Birthday in Heaven Eden Rain ~

Happy birthday to you in heaven
Our precious granddaughter Eden Rain
We heard the angels are throwing a party
To celebrate your birth and beautiful name.

They must be very excited
I'm sure they have baked a cake
And strewn flower petals all around
Getting ready to celebrate.

They have some presents to give you
That we just know you will love
We sent all your gifts to heaven
On the wings of a pure, white dove.

There's a box filled with love from your mama
All tied up with glittery strings
Inside there are one million kisses
And a new pair of soft angel wings.

There's a box of hugs from your daddy
He misses his little girl so
He's added some dreams and a rainbow
Along with pretty ribbons and bows.

Your sisters gifts are so special
They had to be just right
They worked so very hard on them
Sometimes even into the night.

Their box is the one that sparkles,
Because girls love nice, pretty things
They've included some stardust and wishes
And lullabies for the angels to sing.

They also put in several handfuls
Of soft feathers for your bed
Then they included something so special
It's a new crown for your sweet little head.

Grandpa and I sent a simple gift
A sweet pair of new dancing shoes
You know how practical we are
To send something you can use.

So when you take those first little steps
Up there on the streets of gold
You can feel us all sending our love
Since you can't be here to hold.

We pray your birthday is very special
And that you know just how loved you are
You're our beautiful and precious angel
Dwelling in heaven among the stars.

Precious in His Sight

Precious in His Sight
Drifting, falling, gently landing, on the coat of one girl standing, on a winter moonlit night, snowflakes dancing in the light.

Watching closely as they lay, she stood in awe of what God made...

Each a masterpiece so small, yet the Lord sees each one fall.

Delicate and formed with love, a gift to us from God above. He takes the time to make each one, for His pleasure for our fun.

If He should care enough to make each and every little flake, then how precious in His sight is one girl standing in the light.

Suppose God charged us for the rain...

What's It Worth
Suppose God charged us for the rain, Or put a price on a song-bird’s strain Of music, the dawn, the mist on the plain.
How much would autumn landscapes cost, Or a window etched with winter’s frost, And the rainbow’s glory so quickly lost?
Suppose that people had to pay To see the sunset’s crimson play And the magic stars of the Milky Way.
Suppose it was fifty cents a night To watch a gull in graceful flight.
How much, I wonder, would it be worth To smell the good, brown, fragrant earth In Spring? The miracle of birth.
How much do you think people would pay For a baby’s laugh at the close of day? Suppose God charges us for them, I say!
Suppose we paid to look at the hills, For the rippling mountain rills, Or the mating song of the whippoorwills,
Or curving breakers of the sea, For grace, and beauty, and majesty? And all these things He gives us free! -Author Unknown
Happy day! Blessings~

2010 is here!

Christian New Year's Resolutions

How can I use the New Year
to better serve my Lord? I'll read my Bible every day,
and be more in accord.

I'll find new ways to serve others;
I'll love my neighbor, too.
I'll focus on *give* instead of *get*
In everything I do.

I'll forgive the people I'm mad at;
Angry feelings I'll discard;
I'll try to love my enemies,
Even though it's hard.

In the New Year, I'll lift people up,
Instead of putting them down,
I'll fill my heart with love and joy,
And never wear a frown.

I'll let go of my worries;
I'll put it all in His hands;
I'll repent and try to sin less,
And obey all His commands.

These new year resolutions
Are difficult, at best,
But there's something I can do each day
That will put my soul at rest:

I'll love the Lord with all my heart,
With all my mind and soul,
And if I do that essential thing,
All the rest will be in control.

Happy New Year to each of you
and may it be blessed in every way!!

Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow ~

My last lone peony from my garden...
Their stay is much too brief...here today and gone tomorrow~
Peonies
By Mary Oliver
This morning the green fists of the peonies are getting ready
to break my heart
as the sun rises,
as the sun strokes them with his old, buttery fingers.

and they open
pools of lace,
white and pink
and all day the black ants climb over them.

boring their deep and mysterious holes
into the curls,
craving the sweet sap,
taking it away

to their dark, underground cities,
and all day
under the shifty wind,
as in a dance to the great wedding,

the flowers bend their bright bodies,
and tip their fragrance to the air,
and rise
their red stems holding

all that dampness and recklessness
gladly and lightly,
and there it is again
beauty the brave, the exemplary,

blazing open.
Do you love this world?
Do you cherish your humble and silky life?
Do you adore the green grass , with it's terror beneath?

Do you also hurry, half-dressed and barefoot, into the garden,
and softly,
and exclaiming of their dearness,
fill your arms with the white and pink flowers,

with their honeyed heaviness, their lush trembling,
their eagerness
to be wild and perfect for a moment, before they are
nothing, forever?

Spring Blossoms ~

Our weather here in Michigan just can't make up it's mind. Cold, warm, rainy, cold again, warm again, just right, rainy, COLD AGAIN! I am hauling in my hanging baskets again tonight for fear of frost. I do hope that warm *SPRING* weather arrives soon to stay. I think those beautiful warm days that we were teased with in March makes it appear colder than it usually is for this time of year when in reality it is probably just about right. One of these days it will be warm and stay that way...until fall.

The sun was warm but the wind was chill
You know how it is with an April day,
When the sun is out and the wind is still,
You're one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
A cloud comes over the sunlit arch,
A wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you're two months back in the middle of March.
~Robert Frost

Beautiful apple tree blossoms from our yard~
Crab apple tree blossoms right outside my back door~
Enjoy your day today whatever the weather...it is a wonderful day to be alive ~ Blessings~

Easter Reflections ~

by Helen Steiner Rice

" With OUR EYES we see
The beauty of Easter
as the earth awakens once
more...

With OUR EARS we hear
The birds sing sweetly
to tell us Spring again is here...

With OUR HANDS we pick
the golden daffodils
and the fragrant hyacinths...

But only with OUR HEARTS
can we feel the MIRACLE of GOD'S LOVE
which redeems all men...

And only with OUR SOUL
can we make our 'pilgrimage to God'
and inherit His Easter Gift of ETERNAL LIFE ".

Embrace His precious gift today...
Blessings ~
