Calling my name ~

hubby and i took a drive yesterday
in the blustery, snowy weather.
crazy...i know,
but we did it anyway.

on the way home
just around the corner,
we found an abandoned old farm
and it drew me in...

i trudged up the driveway through the snow
to this beautiful old fence.

when I first caught sight of her
my steps quickened...

i couldn't wait to take her picture ~
then my eyes quickly turned to this
gorgeous old shed
standing there so cold and alone ~

i walked around the side and found more beauty.
how could someone just
leave her here to wither away?

i think she is calling my name ~

i would love to load her up and bring her to my house where she would be so loved ~

but, for the moment...we had to leave her
and head towards
home sweet home.

I have listed several antique ornaments
on my Etsy site so if you love old
ornies, be sure and check it out.
Blessings~

Very charming shed... perhaps you could find the owner and inquire about it.

Lovely pictures! Looks like here! I bet you're sad "she" is not in the "button down the hatches" budget! But then again you never know...ask around..you may get her free! :)

Sandi, what do you think it is in these old outbuildings that speak to us? Is it them, or is it us? It was like you were reading my thoughts when I find these old structures. I'm so drawn to them. My husband just doesn't get it. Our place would be covered with them if I could get away with it.
I really think we are kindred spirits my dear.

Sandi, what a beautiful shed....You know sometimes when you ask...you get things for free :) I got a birdhouse shaped shed like that, I told a lady that I thought it was so pretty and as I was walking away she said she was moving and would I like to have it, because they were going to tear it down and throw it away...sy stars I had my dad and hubby there loading it up in minutes, I still have to paint and move it to its permant place...but everytime I see it, I smile...Besos, Rose

beautiful and inspiring photos! What a great idea to go for a drive in the winter snow. Everything looks so different when covered by whiteness.

Dearest Sandi,
I just now read about your DH and his job lay-off. My heart goes out to you. Here is a long distance hug for you.

Sandi - Your pictures of the little shed in the snow and your musings about it are just precious. You make me want to be there also!
Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving such nice comments. I had absolutely NO idea that my knitted birds nests would be so desired!!

Your blog is just beautiful - I will revisit.

She is BEAUTIFUL! Can you load her up and take her home??? She would be perfect at your home and loved too. If you can do it I would in a heartbeat or at least however long it took to talk my husband into getting it back home. This really spoke to my sentimental house heart, Sandi.

Off for my walk... talk soon!
