Creating altered bottles once again

I have been trying to stay out of trouble, so therefore I have been creating a few altered bottles again
and these are the result.

Remember the post about all the fabulous old lace that I found at a sale?  Now I am thinking that I may have
posted that on facebook and not on my blog? At any rate, I found some gorgeous lace!

I am very frustrated lately at the lighting in this house. It is not good at all. So bad that I have to turn
on lights in the daytime. ugh. So to get any kind of decent photos at all , I sat some books up on a stand
in my living room and taped a white poster-board on the window behind it. Still not real great, but much
better than what I had initially taken. lol.

I love to embellish old bottles and have had fun making these. This one is in honor of
PARIS!

This photo does not show the true beauty of this old lace, but I did what I could. I love simple
bottles so I try not to adorn them too much. I also love to add the lace to the bottle in the form
that I found it...thus this one is a diagonal swoop??   {this bottle is now sold}

Beautiful bottle top

There are so many of us kindred spirits in blog-land aren't there? I know I don't begin to create as many
things as a lot of others, but I do love the kinship that we all share.

Another beautiful bottle top

Delicate old lace with soft netting on this bottle

...along with scrunchy ribbon.

The original cork stopper in this one. I tried to take it out to wash it and part of it broke off so I left it unwashed and
glued that part of the cork back on. A girl's gotta do what a girls gotta do right?

This will probably land in my Etsy shop soon. Thanks for taking the time to view my handiwork. I do appreciate each
and every one of you so much!!

Happy Thursday!

Watches and fans and messes...OH MY!!

I found these watches at an antique store a couple weekends ago and just had to bring them home with me.
I have never seen any like them...have you?? So unique.

This is what I REALLY should be doing today, but instead I decided to clean a fan and take photos? wow...lol!!

I am working on filling up my new/old cabinet that has an old screen door attached. I just love it!!  That little white
basket won't stay on that stand, but we are *a work in progress* here at the moment.

Don't you just love this cabinet? I want another one for the other wall. I can guarantee you that I could have them both filled up in no time flat! ha!

Isn't this a neat old fan? I have loved this fan from the moment I found her {several years ago| and I use her every year.  I noticed today that she needed a good cleaning. Have you ever tried to take apart and old fan? They don't have screws that make it easy like the fans now-days. After studying her for awhile, I realized the front grill comes off so that is how
I had to clean the whole fan.

I even had to clean the backside of the blades from the front which was very interesting, but she looks much
better now. :)  Love her soft aqua color.

Something about neutrals just speak to my soul...

Yea...the fan pics were supposed to be at the end of the post , but Sandi goofed again. lol

Happy Wednesday and be sure to enjoy life!!

On a roll ~

I have been on a roll lately, churning out altered bottles left and right so today
I am taking a break. The one above is one of my favorites. I know...there is COLOR
in it and not my typical neutrals, but I still love it.

It is embellished with genuine old lace, vintage velvet and rayon ribbon, part of an
old valentine, rhinestones and the word "friend" cut out of an old songbook.

I adore the old velvet ribbon. This was a labor of love because I truly wanted to keep
every piece of the velvet for myself, but I decided to put one small piece on the bottle and
I think it is perfect.

I always love to embellish bottles with Paris themes and this one is no exception.

I sure hope that I get to visit this beautiful city someday. :)

With Valentines day just around the corner, I used an old valentine on this one along
with old music pages and vintage lace.

Innocence...what a beauty. I have had this bottle and the Paris one half done for literally
months and it was time to finish them. This one has part of an old ledger on it that is dated
in the 1800's.

{All three of these bottles are already sold}

I whipped up this little love potion bottle yesterday.

I must get back to creating soon, but for now I am taking a break. How about you?
What have you created lately?  I would love to hear about it.

Love of vintage maps and altered bottles ~

I started cleaning and sorting out my studio yesterday and so far I have made a big
mess in the dining room and the studio itself.  I intended to work on that again today,
but I decided that I wanted to work on altered bottles instead. They are one of my
favorite things to create and I love making each one unique.

You know where that leaves me right?? Yep, right in the middle of a big mess...
creating!

I acquired a stack of vintage maps quite some time ago and haven't done one thing
with them until now. I love the way this bottle turned out! There is pretty , sparkly,
glitter outlining the heart, but it is hard to see in this photo.

I was going to say, "I would swim an ocean for you", but I have yet to find the word
OCEAN in my zillions of papers and books. I may have to do it one letter at a time. :)

Again, in the spirit of the season here is another bottle to celebrate that day of
LOVE
that is coming up soon. I scanned an old poem that I have in my stash and printed it out.
Someone has written the year 1911 on the back along with a sweet sentiment. Love it.

Up close and personal :)

Now , there is a story here. This bottle has been half done for months. Somehow it
just got shoved to the side { you never do that do you?? } and never finished, so
today was the day to get it finished.

I used genuine antique ledger paper {not scanned and copied} dated  1893. I don't
have much of that paper left, but I was smart enough to scan it before I used it all
 up.

I have always loved this gorgeous lady print. I have made other bottles using this same
print. She is just too pretty!

I hope you enjoyed my bottles that I have been working on today. I am so far behind
on many things. Maybe I can actually get my mess cleaned up tomorrow, but then...
there is also the possibility that I may just get the urge to keep playing...:)

{two large bottles will sell for 21.99 each and the smaller map bottle
will sell for 15.99. If interested just shoot me an email. Thank you.}

All in the eye of the beholder...

I have been as busy as a little beaver these past few weeks because I signed up to be in
a holiday bazaar that will be held in a couple weeks. I wonder if I will get the response I am hoping
for with my handmade treasures. I hope so. :)

I realize it is *all in the eye of the beholder* , but I am tired of going to shows that are full
of country style items that have been around since the 1980's.  I certainly don't fault anyone for
having different tastes than I do, but it will be interesting to see how this goes. It may be my
first and my last show. :)

I lay in bed at night and my mind just spins with ideas.  A couple nights ago I remembered
that I had some star boxes, so yesterday I set to creating these two. I thought they turned
out very pretty and sparkly. They would be lovely to hold a very special gift or even to
put treats in for that special someone.

I am also creating a few stockings out of vintage feed sack fabric with ruffles on the
top of them.

This feed sack was already hemmed on the sides so that was a plus.

I always have to make a few altered bottles so this time I made a few simple ones with angels
and feathers.

I added a scripture verse or a quote about angels and I thought they turned out
absolutely angelic.

I have created nests, all kinds of tags, angel wings and candles also, but I didn't get
photos of them all yet so hopefully I can do that soon.  Wish me luck please! :)
