Playing with dirt and 50 cent find

In the spring, at the end of the day,
you should smell like dirt.

Grow what you love,
the love will keep it growing.

You're only here for a short visit.
Don't hurry, don't worry,
and stop to smell the flowers along the way.
-Walter Hagen

Don't you just love my little gray clay pot?? My 50 cent purchase at an antique mall.
I was wishing they had a dozen of them!

My adorable little fairy chair that I have had for several years.

I was in my potting shed today planting violas in teacups for a Ladies tea that we are having at our church on Sunday. Guess who is in charge of the decor?

ps...I am loving my new camera!

Happy playing in the dirt in the days ahead. :)

Tomatoes...Upside Down ~

My husband loves new gadgets
(what guy doesn't ???) ...
He first saw these upside down tomato planters on TV
and told me all about them.... So when he found them at a local store
he thought it was a sign from above.
We purchased one and are giving it a try ~
Our first tomato on our upside down planter ~ We haven't had a garden in several years, but we love tomatoes so we bought a few plants this year. I wanted to put the tiny Sweet 100's in the upside down planter, but hubby wanted the big beefy tomatoes in it... Guess who won? I just hope the big beefy tomatoes don't fall off before they are ripe. Can't wait until they are ready~ Blessings~

Fun Repurposing Items ~

I love to use items in a different way than they were intended so I thought I would share a few of my ideas today.
This is a vintage comb tin (I think) that I have in my bathroom and I put lotions, mascara and other goodies in it~ A vintage planter in my kitchen holds tea bags ~
I use vintage butter pats to hold my teabag after taking it out of my tea~
Vintage teacups are great for a lot of things...they hold many items. This one is in my craft room~
A vintage vase holding pens ~
Another vintage planter holding hubbys tea bags...we like our tea...lol ~
I think I have shared this one before. A vintage match holder in my bathroom holding q-tips ~
Where did this little sweetie come from? Somehow she snuck in here. LOL Before I could blink she hopped up and grabbed two q-tips...
Then hopped down and instantly proceeded to put them in her ears!!! Of course I had to snap a photograph, but then I grabbed them and said "You should never put these in your ears"...Love her to pieces...I don't repurpose her...I LOVE her to death just as intended by my Creator! Have a lovely day today.
Blessings~

Reflection ~

I have been very busy trying to get decorations ready for a bridal shower and also trying to redecorate my back porch/entry. Remember my post about "rearranging"? I repainted the little green cupboard on the wall in a cream color and that is what is reflected in this mirror. I was amazed at how many items I had in creams and whites. Just went through the house pulling things *off and out*. I must get busy again...just wanted to give you a glimpse of a beautiful reflection.
Blessings~

Wonderful Chippy Rusty Find ~

Isn't this the greatest shabby find ?? I found it last Friday on our adventures around the county.
We stopped at a garage sale, one of my favorite thrift stores and another little store that I LOVE and that is where I found this item. I really don't know if you would call it a table or what, but I can just see pots of herbs or flowers sitting in it and trailing over the side. Any other ideas?
I would love to hear them...
When I saw that this gem was only 5.99 I just had to pick it up. The people who own the store know me by name and the gentleman could not believe I would want this rusty old thing. I said YES of course I do! (LOL) I told him my husband was sitting out in the car and would be shaking his head when I carried it out and boy was I spot on. TOO FUNNY! But hubby really doesn't mind what I buy...he is just a cabinet builder (on the side) and still hasn't figured out why people would want things that are chippy, rusty and distressed looking.
I will say though that he doesn't mind at all what I carry in the house and is very easy going with my style of decorating. Have a wonderful day filled with unexpected blessings ~
