"be-lieve...to have a firm religious faith , to accept as true , genuine or real..."
I definitely have a firm religious faith and belief that God will uphold us in the New Year, come what may. With so many uncertainties in the world right now that is really all we can do. I rest assured knowing that God is in control all the time and I look forward to what the New Year has to offer.
I was also thinking of New Year's resolutions. I am really not a big fan of those, but there are a couple I would like to aspire to this year:
To be more kind and to have more patience ( I find myself getting very impatient when waiting in a long grocery line or in a line of traffic ) Have you heard the saying, "Lord give me patience and give it to me now"? LOL I really want and need to take the time to slow down and smell the roses and I pray that I can accomplish that in this new year...or at least give it a good try! Happy New Year to all of you and many blessings in 2009!

Sandi,
I have the same resolution as you! I want to remember that it's people that are important...not my time...my plans...my this...or that...at the end of the day, how I have loved and helped another is what matters most.
Wishing you and your family a very blessed and wonderful new year!
Wonderful blog, lovely post!!! Pop over for a visit from Alice W's blog. Patience...If you ask for I God will give it to you, and He'll be patient with us until we get it.
Once after I prayed for patience I was in need of a new car. Well, not brand new, but not as old as the one needing replacing. I ended up with a 1980 Diesel Mercedes. It looked great and was very cheep. I have never driven a slower car in my life. Then it dawned on me, God was using that car to teach me patience. I grew to love that car.
It's a pleasure to find your blog. A blessed New Year to you and yours.
