Just a Little Something... ~

...that I have been working on.
I haven't decided whether to leave them in BOWS
or
KNOTS~
I think the bows may be a little too foofy...
What do you think? This is a chest of drawers that I purchased at a garage sale a few years ago for $5.00. It did not have any handles and it has just been sitting upstairs unused. I decided I needed more room in my studio for storage so down it came. I also did not want to spend any money on handles so I made them out of muslin with rubber stamped images. Any thoughts?

My dad appeared much better today and was even laughing and joking with the nurses. In fact he had us all laughing! He also looked so much better than he did yesterday. Becky (his nurse) told us today about all the medicines he will be sent home with and what each one was for. She also gave us pamphlets telling all about stents, pictures of the heart and which artery was blocked etc. She was very thorough about everything and she really knows her stuff. He now has to carry a card in his wallet telling the location of all the stents. Very interesting, but a lot of information to digest. He is hoping to come home tomorrow, but we will see what the doctor says. Thank you all again so much for your prayers! Prayer definitely changes things~ Blessings~

Thank you!

Me and my daddy ~
(Man I have a big head! LOL)
I will be headed to the hospital again soon so I don't have time to go to each and every blog and thank you personally so this is the next best thing.

THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU...
everyone ~

I am overwhelmed at the kindness and prayers
of all my blogging friends. So many of you praying for my father...
It is a
*very good thing*
and I know that our God hears and answers prayer.

We spent the day with him yesterday and
there is no other place I would have rather been.
My brother is coming home from his vacation early which they just headed
out to on Sunday. He has been in constant contact via cell phones and he has called the hospital and talked to the nurses. My sister was planning on coming home from PA this Friday for a visit and she is coming home early too.
Mom has been a rock throughout this ordeal , but I know this is hard on her too, so please say a prayer for her as well.
We all love him so much...he is the best ever~ Blessings~

911 Call -

This photo is my daddy whom I love very much.
(at my niece's wedding three years ago) ~
Got that dreaded phone call at 11 pm from mom
last night telling me that she had called 911
because my father was very sick.
They only live about 8 miles away so of course we flew out there.
Watched them load my precious father in the EMS unit ~

We got home from the hospital at 4:30 this morning.
He had a heart attack.
They put three stents in one artery and removed
part of a clot.
He looked so much better and was talking to us
before we left. He even was laughing and told us
to go home and sleep.
Thank God for doctors and their gifts of a healing touch.
I am not ready to lose my father.
He is my hero, my rock and I love him so much! Please say a prayer for him today~
Blessings~

We Are of Great Value ~

"Look at the birds in the sky.
They don't plant or harvest or gather food into barns,
and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
You are more
valuable
than they are, aren't you? " Matthew 6:26
You
are valuable to God.
I
am valuable to God.

He loves us so much.

Sweet Blessings today ~

Vintage Goodness ~

I love antiquing~
Show me a thrift store or an antique store
and once I go in you may never see me again.
Okay, I might come out once in a while
to eat, but otherwise forget it ~
Loving antique buttons, laces... Ribbons...
Pottery...
Books...
just about
anything
old~
I fell in love with the lace covered mason jars
that Robin Brown had at her wedding.
I thought I would try it.
I didn't want to glue the lace
on the jar in case I want to use it for something else.
I can see these hanging on a porch
looking so pretty at night time all lit up.
Have a "vintage goodness" kind of day today.
Blessings~

A Little Visitor ~

I have a special little visitor today
whom I love very much ~
Bet you can't guess who... Her and I were in town today and all of a sudden my car started honking. She had pushed the panic button on my keys. Response of my little visitor: " that is loud...it goes beep , beep , beep, beep... She had to tell her daddy all about it when she got back to our house. She is
so very sweet
and
so very loved~
Blessings~
Update: Later today I noticed my darling little visitor
had our garage door opener in the house and was just
pushing the button over and over.
I didn't really think about what she was doing
until her daddy came running in and said "Annika...what are you doing"...
Apparantly the door was going up and down and up and down...
tee hee...too cute!
At least no one was trying to drive in the garage!!

My Front Porch ...PART 2 ~

I decided you just had to see my pillows on my glider...
My previous post looks so different without them on it. I made two of them out of vintage barkcloth and one out of a pillowcase...
I think pillows add a sweet touch of romance to a porch setting~ Enjoy~ Blessings~

My Front Porch ~

I love sitting on my front porch with my sweet
2 year old granddaughter Annika.
She says, "I want to swinggggg...I want to swinggggg"
so we go out and sit in the glider and swing. It makes her so happy ~
I took these photos at the beginning of flower season
when the flowers were in full bloom ~ I usually have pillows on my glider ... I have no idea how I missed that~
I LOVE ferns on my front porch~
I want to spray paint the mirror on the wall white
It has birds on it and it would just be perfect then ~
Once again, lovely flowers when in all reality right now...
the petunias in the cone basket don't look too great. Where is my gardener ~
I sat an old iron chair over my white phlox.
They are just starting to bloom right now ~
Love my pinks ~

We have not done one thing to this porch since we moved here
in 1982. It could use some renovation , but it just
hasn't happened and at our age now I doubt it ever will.
I will just continue to enjoy it as is.
Blessings~

Tomatoes...Upside Down ~

My husband loves new gadgets
(what guy doesn't ???) ...
He first saw these upside down tomato planters on TV
and told me all about them.... So when he found them at a local store
he thought it was a sign from above.
We purchased one and are giving it a try ~
Our first tomato on our upside down planter ~ We haven't had a garden in several years, but we love tomatoes so we bought a few plants this year. I wanted to put the tiny Sweet 100's in the upside down planter, but hubby wanted the big beefy tomatoes in it... Guess who won? I just hope the big beefy tomatoes don't fall off before they are ripe. Can't wait until they are ready~ Blessings~

Beautiful Antique Images~

Friday I went to the antique store
in a quaint little town
that is going out of business.
Hoping to find more old ledger paper
but it was all gone.
However I did find a lot of gorgeous antique images~
Doesn't she look like she is dreaming of a long lost love~
Many beautiful black & white photos including this one...
Found in this wonderful antique music book. It is dated in the 1800's ~
Mandolin player ~
Love the writing and scrollwork on this sheet music.
More beautiful black and white antique photos...
Love this angel photograph~
More lovely sheet music.
The price was 10 for $1.00 and she had stacks of it~
How cute is this ...Little Fairy March~
Once again love these images~
I hope you enjoyed my glimpse into the past.
of these old prints.

The lady who owns the store is in her 90's and just can't run it anymore so we must gather the treasures while we can ~

Blessings~
