Have you ever made
grilled pizza?
We came home from church today
and made it for lunch.
Our oldest son made this for us
one day when we were visiting his family
and we have been hooked ever since.
Today we just made a standard pizza
with various toppings, but
I told hubby that I want to try a
tomato and basil pizza
next time.
We purchase frozen bread dough and let
one loaf thaw for a couple hours,
and then we cut the loaf into four pieces
for individual pizzas.
{don't let the dough rise...just thaw}
Next, press them out by hand into pizza shapes,
put the on the grill and
partially grill
the dough on each side.
{don't get the dough totally cooked before adding
toppings or you will have a burnt mess
by the time it is all done}
Take the partially baked pizza dough off the grill,
add your toppings and put it back on
the grill on the TOP rack so it doesn't get
a lot of heat and cook until the cheese is melted.
You will have to experiment with your own
grill to get it the way you want it.
Yumm~
I just finished mine
and it was
so good!
Blessings~

We LOVED it when we did basil, tomatoes (grape that were roasted on the grill) and pepperoni with a bit of mozz and goat cheese. mmm! I did let my dough rise a bit and thankfully it turned out well. It was totally be accident though. So glad my brother made these for us so long ago. OTherwise, we still prob. would not have had it. Yummers! Bring me some!
What a great recipe!!
Have a wonderful day.....

Do you do this on a regular grill? I want to try it but was afraid the dough will oooze through the grate on the grill... Looks yummy!

Sounds wonderful...we'll have to try it...thanks for the idea!

Yup, regular grill. Not sure about all kinds of dough but if you're using the thawed bread dough no oozing will commence.
