We have a winner!

We have a winner for my vintage silverware
garden markers.
I think it was just meant to be.

She has the same name as mine
{even spells it the same}

she calls me her
*fairy blogmother*

drum roll please...

If you guessed

Sandi from A Cottage Muse

you are correct!

Congratulations Sandi

{and for all you that didn't win...
I do sell them in my Etsy store. lol.}
Don't you just love my white table and chairs? I have been wanting one for our back deck and when I saw
Kathleens from Faded Charm that she purchased at the
Goodwill I really wanted a set.

I thought about running over to the Goodwill , but really
what were my chances that they would have a set...
I say slim to none. lol.

Then it hit me...I already had this set.
It has been sitting in my back entry way/porch
for several years.

{it is a Martha set that I purchased at Kmart}

Although it looked very pretty where it was,
it didn't get much use at all.
I grabbed it, took off the chair cushions
and schlepped it out the door.

I love it in it's new home.

Hubby and I sat there last night and ate our dinner...
I think it will get lots of use now.

Makeover fun for White Wednesday

In trying to find something to post for
White Wednesday
I seriously thought maybe I should post
a white bleach bottle!! lol.
OR maybe *the man* pouring bleach out of the bottle...

{okay enough of that...we will get off the bleach subject.
although I will say it is slowly dissipating...thank God!}

This is my latest makeover. I sure wish I had
remembered to take pictures before I remade it.

I picked this spice rack up at a garage sale last
Saturday for $2.00. It was full o f spices and
each jar had a spice label attached to it.

When I saw it I immediately thought
it would be great for glitter.

When I got it home, I dumped the spices,
soaked the labels off and decided for now
to put buttons in the jars.

They really do hold a lot of buttons! Each jar stands approx. 7 inches tall and overall it is approx. 14 inches high.

Another simple project that yours truly could handle. Please visit Kathleen at Faded Charm and see many other White Wednesday posts .

Blessings~

Cupcake Love and family ~

Yesterday when I went to my son's to shower
the bleach off of me, they offered me the
most wonderful cupcake ever!
A gourmet red velvet cupcake from
I have never been , but am going to
visit that place very soon! It was so amazingly delicious!
It was kinda funny because I took them this cupcake mix and they had a cupcake for me.
They will be celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary this week and I wanted to give them something *fun*. If you have been following my blog for awhile, you will remember that they were separated at this time a year ago and I so wanted to celebrate this year!
I am very thankful and blessed! have a beautiful Monday...

Not a pretty post...

Today has not been a good day girls.

To start with a *man* that I am
*very close to* and whom I dearly love decided
that he wanted to dump a gallon of
of bleach down our well system yesterday.
Someone had told him this is good for the system
as it cleans out all bacteria etc.
{right now I would like to get ahold of that someone}.

Just a slight disclaimer here:
I was against the idea from the start.

I am here to tell you that we have lived here for over 28 years
and have never done this and the well water has been
just fine and wonderful to drink.

I hopped in the shower this morning and was greeted with
a very strong clorine bleach smell that about took
my breath away. Got washed and out of there as
fast as I could, but then my skin started just feeling tingly
here and there and I knew I had to get that chlorine
washed off. Ended up going over to my son's house
and taking another shower and I am not sure that
that even did the trick although it did help.

We ran faucets open for quite a while, ran the garden
hose for a long time and it still smells like chlorine! To make matters worse we were very low on
water softener pellets and had just filled
that up again yesterday.
In case you don't know about those, it
takes a while to regenerate back through the system
and we have very hard water here.

I was cleaning the toilet {of all things}, when I noticed
the bottle I was using was tub and shower cleaner
instead of toilet cleaner!! {I warned you that this is not a pretty post.lol.}

I ended up splashing some on my brand new white ruffled
shower curtain so I knew I had to get it in the wash
before the chemicals ate it up...can you imagine what
happened next?? My beautiful white shower curtain
now has a big yellow rust stain and I mean it is big!

I just wanted to sit down and cry ,
but instead I yelled.
Don't think that helped any.
In fact I know it didn't help any.
Didn't take away the yellow stain,
didn't make *the man* feel any better
and truthfully
it didn't even make me feel better.

But we did learn something....
never ever, ever again will we dump
clorine bleach down our well system!! I pray it gets out of there soon or I will
have to wear the same clothes day after day. {that would not be a pretty site either} I certainly don't want to wash my clothes and
have them all ruined.
*The man* said I can practice on his work clothes,
but do I really want to do that?
Then I would be known as the wife who sent her
man to work with bleached out splotchy clothes!
Truthfully I don't think there is enough bleach
in the system to do that, but it would be just
my luck.

I sure hope the week ahead goes better!!

Be sure and enter my giveaway one post down.
Remember you need to comment AND put it on
your blog or blog sidebar.

Hugs to all of you ~
