He loves me...he loves me not...he loves me...

The origin of the word Daisy is Anglo Saxon
“daes eage” literally meaning “day’s eye”.
It was called this because daisies open at dawn
as the day is just beginning.

I picked a few daisies along the edge of our
property and snapped a few photos.

This will be a busy week for me as my sister and hubby
are visiting from PA. I doubt I will be in blogland
much , but will play catch up next week.
Blessings~

Beautiful acquisitions...

A girl can never had too many vintage buttons! I found these at a garage sale in a bag for 50 cents.

My mint julep cup for $1.00.

I love this spread!
Found it at the Goodwill with not a thing
wrong with it...for $3.50. {it was regular $7 , but the linens are half off}
Score!

Just look at the amazing detail on this
beautiful piece.

I also found this yellow jar at the Goodwill
for $3.00. I am not usually a fan of yellow, but
this appealed to me. It may eventually end up
in my booth...who knows. lol.

Aren't these vintage Christmas beads pretty? I purchased the jar and all for $1.00.

What did you find recently that you can share
with us? I have also found some old books, but didn't
get any photos taken yet.
Have fun scooping up those treasures this week!! Blessings~

God's beauty...

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,
The rushes by the water,
To gather every day.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell,
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

{all pictures taken outside my home}

Peaceful Sunday to you today ~

Small town America and a big blunder!

Remember a few days ago we had no power? What better thing to do than to roam around
Hillsdale, Michigan once again and take pictures
so that is exactly what I did!
Isn't this flower shop gorgeous!!

The downtown streets of Hillsdale are lined with these
lights and the garden club donates beautiful hanging
baskets every year.

This is Jilly Beans coffee house. It used to be
called "the gathering". I didn't even know
it had changed hands.

My hubby is in love with this shop. They just did a huge makoever...inside and out
and it is gorgeous! He just bought steaks,
tri-tip and ground chuck last week. The steaks are
huge!! He got two that I know are the size of
dinner plates and very thick. He is in *heaven*.lol.

The courthouse spire...

I love the detail...

It's beauty just takes my breath away.

This is a very beautiful upscale home decor store. I couldn't get the front of the glass because of
too many vehicles sitting along the street.

A shot of one of Hillsdale streets...if I had to live
in town...I would give this a good look.
It is a beautiful small town!

Speaking of Hillsdale...we went to a car show there
today with my youngest son and his family. However, before we got there we had pulled into a
gas station (following our son). When I went
to pull out ,the nose of my car was a
little too far out into the road and cars were
still coming. I put the car in reverse to back up a little,
but the man in the truck behind me would not budge.
SO...guess what happened???

I forgot that I had the car in reverse and when there
was finally an opening and hubby said, MASH IT ... I did!!
Right into the truck behind me!
Oh dear...not a good thing to do!! Long story short,
the man was not nice , but there was no damage so
all is well that ends well!!

Happy weekend!!

Blessings~

Tickled pink to be CROWNED

Thank goodness the storms are past and the power
is back on . We are very thankful to God that we didn't
get anything worse. One tree limb down is hardly worth
even talking about compared to what others have
gone through.

This is my latest exciting find that I just had to share
with you. After fluffing my booth last week I decided
to stop at another antique mall...almost didn't because
it seems that they have the same old stuff.

I was thrilled to find not only one , but FOUR of these
old crown canning jars! I had never even heard of them
until I read a post from Janis at Rust and Ruffles.
I thought never in a million years that I would
find any...I guess I was wrong!

There are at least two or three different designs and the
glass inserts in the lids even have crowns on them.
How cool is that?
{We do love our crowns here in blogland!}

They are made in Canada and I don't know a thing about them except that I love them. I tried and tried to get better pictures, to no avail. I am thinking they may show up the crown design better filled with water so I will have to try that soon.

What do you think of my latest find?? I handed over $2.50 each for these beauties
and almost ran out the door.lol.

At the same antique mall I purchased this wine holder
for $4.00. I don't drink wine, but I just had to get it...
I love the wire design
and it made a great carrier for the jars!

happy day~

Update: storms

Imagine my surprise when I stepped out my back door
this morning , walked out in our back yard and found
this branch lying next to the house. I am so thankful
that we did not get the 80 mph winds that some did
or I am sure this huge tree would have come right
down on top of our house or through the kitchen
window.

It is an old tree that keeps losing it's branches and
really needs to be cut down, but just
haven't gotten to that yet.

Still no power...still running generator. Power to
come back on sometime tomorrow.

Blessings~

Storms...storms...storms....and no power

Hi bloggy friends...today I am without power because of the
wicked storms that once again roared through last night. Our power went out at 10:30 pm Wednesday evening and
estimated time of restoration is 12 am on Friday.

Right now we are running on generator power {thank God for that}, but only certain things in the house
are hooked up to it...the important things...
THE COMPUTER...the refrigerator, THE COMPUTER,
the freezer, THE COMPUTER, the water...lol.
Actually I had to run an extension cord around
robin hood's barn to get the computer to an outlet
where there is power.

We heard on the tv news last night right before our power
went out that a tornado was spotted near Frontier
and that is just up the road a bit...maybe five or six miles.
Not very far at all...my brother
lives very close to there. I need to make some phone calls
asap and see what happened.

So for now...I won't be in blogland much! Have a super wonderful day each and every one of you!! Blessings~
