Boutons, savon and more for White Wednesday

Isn't this cross just beautiful! I hung it up just as I
received it...tag, ribbon and all from Tracie over at
I love it!

White tattered rosette pins in my booth at
the antique mall.

I found some amazing old buttons over the

weekend and I practiced taking different
photos with my camera.
I like how this one turned out...very white.

Not quite as white...still neat.

This was without a flash. I love them all
so it is a good thing I don't have to choose.

I had this old beveled brass mirror laying around
so I attached it to an old board, put a brass rose
over the top of the screw, added a ribbon
and sold it in my booth.

This is what I have been working on this week
for my Etsy store.
Inspirational sayings from small vintage cards.

Lavender soap from France also in my booth at the
antique store. I wrapped each of them
in some repurposed tissue paper . I love the pattern
and colors of the paper.

Tags that I rubber stamped.

I hope you enjoyed my whites today. It has been a very busy past week and I am
running behind on everything.

Please join Kathleen over at Faded Charm
for more lovely WW posts.

Please note: My computer is running very slow today
and I am having trouble bringing up blogs
so if I don't make it to yours I am so sorry!
I will continue to try...

All *scrabbled* up

Our oldest son and his family were visiting over the
weekend and I found myself all *scrabbled* up!

{Now my husband would tell you that I am usually
all scrambled up I am sure , but this is different. lol.}

I have several scrabble words sitting around the
house and he thought the wording should be changed up
a bit. I didn't even notice this until late last night!

Give tan was originally *vintage*...

Bedless was originally *blessed*...

Sent was originally *nest*...

and Ye Join Elf was originally
*ENJOY LIFE*...
and that he does! He definitely enjoys it to the
fullest and I enjoy his antics every now and then.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend too!

There's a man out there...

who is my hero.

From the time he was little, God knew he would be my dad.

and God also knew that he would be the
best father ever to this little gal.
{and my siblings as well}

He knew that he would love us, and comfort us,
teach us right from wrong, and show us who God is.
He has always been everything a father should be
and more.
I am so glad that God chose that Father to be mine!

I think of all the children out there who didn't have a
father who loves them and I know how very fortunate
I am. I thank God every day for a loving, caring
father who I love dearly and who has always been
my hero.

Thank you dad for everything
and Happy Father's Day!

{snapped this photo of my father and youngest great grandson
last night when they were visiting}

You may have thought I didn’t see, or that I hadn’t heard,
Life lessons that you taught to me, but I got every word.
Perhaps you thought I missed it all, and that we’d grow apart,
But Dad, I picked up everything, it’s written on my heart.
Without you, Dad, I wouldn’t be the woman I am today;
You built a strong foundation, no one can take away.
I’ve grown up with your values, and I’m very glad I did;
So here’s to you, dear father, from your forever grateful kid

A man, a bucket and some soap

Doesn't the title sound like a commercial? {smile}

First let me say these are not the greatest photos. I tried from all angles and directions and this is
what came out the best so what you see is
what you get.

That being said... Don't you just love my bucket and
soap holder for a certain someone to use so they
can clean up outside?
Okay, okay...I may use it occasionally too.

{ I had a lightbulb moment when Marietta posted
this photo above that was originally from
the Country Living website}

I knew I had this Martha Stewart enamel
two piece soap dish stashed somewhere and that
hubby could make a bracket for it.

I had the hook laying in the potting shed,
the bucket was sitting on my deck and I have had
the towel for a long time.

Honey...can you do something for me? It is very
simple and won't take long...

He gave me *the look* again (I think it is called the
I love you look...lol) and off to his shop he went.
I was mowing the lawn and next thing I knew it
was all fastened to the pole. yay!

What you don't know is...there is a water hydrant on the
other side of this pole and I was trying to mow between
the roses bushes and the hydrant. BIG MISTAKE! I always seem to get hung up somewhere. I was trying
to be very careful , but that hydrant just reached out
and snatched my mower! :)

Of course I yelled for hubby! Can you just imagine
the scene? He comes walking over , shaking his head
and laughing.
There is a story here because I have hit other things
in the past, but we won't go there. This is why I think
yard mowing should be left up to MEN! ha. ha.

BUT I will say the very first day that we purchased this
mower( brand new mind you) a few years ago, hubby
came home and hopped on it, threw it in gear,
started mowing and promptly hit my fence!!
So I am not the only one who has this problem. He says he was used to the other mower we had
and the reverse was all turned around.
yea , sure ...whatever. lol.

After we were in the house last night and I was thinking
about my new installation I wondered what would
happen to the pail in a big wind. Will it go sailing off
to the neighbor's house? I guess we will just have to
wait and see.

I do love how it turned out for an
imprompto throw together.

Oh , and I will not be leaving this towel outside to
get ruined. I must find another vintage one soon.

Happy Thursday!

White Wednesday

Here it is Wednesday again and I find
myself not prepared. Where, oh where
are these days going?? I know I haven't a
clue where they have flown off to. I just
know that somehow I am getting farther
and farther behind.

Believe it or not , at the beginning of the season
this planter had a beautiful light pink tiny petunia
basket inside it and it was just spilling all over the edge
and looked wonderful...that is until I got ahold of it.

I yanked it out today and replace it with this impatien
hanging basket. I did put some fertilizer in the
petunia basket so we will see if that helps it any.
I sure hope so.

The little petunia plant is sitting on my step now and
you can see the tiny flowers in the background of
this photo and the second photo as well.

I would love to tweak my photos and add effects as so
many of you are doing, but with my slow dial up internet,
it is just not possible. I can't wait for the day I can play with
my photos though.

Speaking of...we decided to bite the bullet and pay a little more
for a high speed that we could get. Contacted them, thought for
sure it would not be a problem as we only live 3 miles from their
nearest tower. It was not to be. The problem ? Weak reception
because of a tree somewhere...grrr. We could not believe
it ...I think we are destined to be on dial up forever.

At any rate...HAPPY WHITE WEDNESDAY.
